Chapter 736: Chapter 513 Legendary Six-armed Snake Demon_3
As he confirmed the identity of his opponent, Gaven wasted no time and launched a spell directly at the Six-armed Snake Demon, who hadn’t fully recovered yet.
It wasn’t the Revenge Mark that designates a specific nemesis.
But rather the fourth-ring spell Dimensional Anchor.
With the exception of the three days upon arriving at Ruitawen, Gaven spent all his time hunkered down amongst the migrant masses. Other times, he was mostly absent, instead furiously clearing out the valuable properties marked by Mother Gao Ser near Anfield Village.
Be it ghosts or bandit thieves, he would overpoweringly obliterate them all, with the most ruthless instance being when he wiped out a horse bandit gang of three hundred in one fell swoop.
While positioning the assets there was secondary, his primary goal was to reach the tenth professional level, which was only one step away.
All other advancements were relatively minor; the main thing was that upon reaching this level, both his Mage and Psychic Sorcerer levels would be at seven, allowing him to cast fourth-level spells.
Of these, the one he valued most and chose with the highest priority was this Dimensional Anchor.
Above the Transcendent level, teleportation tactics would become increasingly common, especially among spellcasters and otherworldly creatures.
To defeat such an opponent, one must first disable their teleportation, preventing them from escaping using their teleportation abilities.
He hadn’t expected it to come in handy so soon.
The Six-armed Snake Demon possessed the ability to teleport short distances, able to do so at will within her line of sight, just like Gaven’s Fairy Step, except her teleportation range was five to six times his.
The terror such an ability posed on the battlefield needs no further elaboration.
She could freely dive into the weakest points of the battlefield and wreak havoc.
The single-target killing power of the Six-armed Snake Demon was infamous across the Multiverse, and even the Balor Flame Demon couldn’t hold a candle to it.
She possessed six arms; in the time you make one sword strike, she could deliver six strikes and a tail lash. Even if you were proficient in dual-wielding, that would only give you one extra hit, while she’d still outmatch you with four more strikes and a tail lash. How could you withstand it?
On the battlefield, the Six-armed Snake Demon slaughters as if she’s simply cutting vegetables, earning her race the nickname "Death Whirlwind"—wherever she went, corpses were left behind.
The Dimensional Anchor spell is quite unique, as the target cannot resist with saving throws, regardless of a ten-plus level difference.
Because its target is not the victim per se but the space surrounding the victim, which is fortified with magic.
Besides using a ninth-ring Wish Spell to reverse the spell’s effects,
So far, no spell can specifically dispel a Dimensional Anchor or Dimensional Lock.
The simplest method is to wait for the duration of the spell to end, which lasts for one minute per spellcasting level. Gaven’s present Spellcasting Level is treated as eight (with an additional spellcasting level from the Arcane Soul Tower), so the Dimensional Anchor he casts would last for eight minutes.
This spell can only prevent teleportation spells that have not yet been cast; it does not affect those in the process of teleporting, meaning it can’t stop the Six-armed Snake Demon from teleporting in.
All this talk, and yet everything happened within two or three seconds.
As Gaven tagged the Six-armed Snake Demon with the Revenge Mark, she had already passed through the Demon Portal and charged towards him with her body leaning forward, at a speed that Gaven believed was even faster than the Half-Moon Colt’s terrestrial speed.
What attributes Gaven’s Transcendant Body has, hers also has. With speed already surpassing that of ordinary people, a double boost naturally becomes even more astonishing.
And the Dimensional Anchor merely locked her teleportation ability, with no impact on her normal serpentine running.
No need for Gaven’s signal was needed, as the Dragonized Gnoll Trap Makers acted in unison, conjuring Instant Pitfalls directly below the Six-armed Snake Demon.
A foolproof pitfall tactic, this time ineffective.
As if the Six-armed Snake Demon had foresight, just before the Instant Pitfall materialized, her massive serpentine lower half abruptly coiled and sprang up, leaping dozens of meters in an instant.
This snake jump was even more astonishing than that of the Golia’s leap.
And it was a double jump. When an Instant Pitfall was preemptively appearing at her landing spot, her long tail fiercely twitched, propelling her body forward another five or six meters and easily vaulting over.
This scenario was basically her anticipating your anticipation.
A Transcendent Golia Barbarian roared furiously, entering Berserk mode and launching a Jump Slash towards the Six-armed Snake Demon, utterly disregarding a series of warning shouts behind him.
In the beautiful eyes of the Six-armed Snake Demon, there was nothing but scorn and disdain as she charged head-on into the Transcendent Golia Barbarian’s berserk Jump Slash without dodging or avoiding.
Her six arms whirled dazzlingly, conjuring a Death Whirlwind.
Gaven couldn’t afford to wait for the Revenge BUFF to accumulate to its peak and charged at the Six-armed Snake Demon, pulling the trigger on the Death Roar.
Under the dual forces of physics and magic, the bullets spouting from the Death Roar reached an extreme velocity.
Clang!
Accompanied by a tremendous clang,
the bullets from the Death Roar did not hit the Six-armed Snake Demon but were slashed away by her blade.
Not only did the Golias stand stunned, but even Gaven, the once Legendary Warrior, was dumbfounded.
Catching bullets with a sword, especially those from a close-range magical firearm, only happens in movies.
Yet the Six-armed Snake Demon accomplished it, whether by Special Ability or sheer coincidence, she managed it.
Gaven could only acknowledge her with two words—impressive, uttered in a tone dripping with awe.
But his attack was no ordinary feat; the Six-armed Snake Demon could only block the physical attack from the Death Roar and was helpless against the onslaught of the Law.
Dealing 8D8+3D6 (11-66) damage, the attack exploded within her body, involuntarily causing her to tremble—the former from the power of Revenge, the latter a Demon Hunter’s.
No matter whether she dodged or blocked Gaven’s attack, the real damage would detonate within her body as soon as Gaven made the attack.
Such attacks were not entirely indefensible.
Just as Gaven had done earlier with the Swift Roc, employing a Twisting Spell Aura to warp it away, preventing the ability from taking effect on oneself would suffice.
Or alternatively, using a higher echelon of Law Force to fight back or suppress, even to strip it away.
