Chapter 564: Chapter 456: The Path of Rule_2

One could only enjoy the present benefits and wait until the contradictions start to intensify before attempting to resolve them.

Such was the way of rulership.

It was helpless yet realistic.

Compared to those scattered migrants, a clan like the Silent Tribe that migrated en masse naturally demanded significant attention, especially a special natural species like the Sodalite Treant.

"Blue Crown/Lv Guan, we have seen the City Lord and thank you for offering our tribe shelter, for taking the great risk to rescue our kin," the two leaders of the Silent Tribe said in unison to Gaven.

Although Gaven had seen Sodalite Treants before, he couldn’t help but marvel at nature’s marvels upon seeing them again.

If they did not speak, many people would regard them as nothing but lifelike muscle-bound statues. The musculature they possessed was comparable to that of the Golias; it was just that it wasn’t made of muscles, but of tree bark and knots. Nearly a hundred Sodalite Treants looked as if they were carved from the same mold. Had it not been for the vivid color markings on their bodies, these outsiders would have found it difficult to distinguish their identities.

Gaven’s face was brimming with warm enthusiasm as he said, "Your Silent Tribe’s contribution to combating the Dwarves Elf and for the Mir Forest over the past decades has already spread throughout the entire forest. Every tree, every plant sings the tales of your deeds. It is our greatest honor that you have come to Mesnoel. With your supervision and encouragement, we will be able to better benefit the Mir Forest and find ways to coexist harmoniously."

By now, his ability to tailor his words to his audience had significantly improved.

Every word tickled the fancy of these Sodalite Treants, stirring up curiosity among these wooden people who were largely devoid of emotion. They wondered how the trees and plants could sing their stories and how he knew about them.

The mention of benefitting the Mir Forest and finding ways to coexist harmoniously resonated deeply with them, aligning perfectly with their ultimate goal.

Many Sodalite Treants looked at Gaven with softened gazes, feeling that their decision to come to Mesnoel was right.

The aura emanating from this Half-Elf seemed even more cordial and comfortable to them than those from the Fae Race and Yalings. Had they relied solely on perception, they might have mistaken him for one of the Treants.

This was because Gaven frequently used the Enlightenment to inform many Enlightened Treants and trees, especially since he had just emerged from a deep communion with a powerful treant before meeting with them. His aura was naturally very similar, making it easy to mislead the innate perception of these natural-born Treants.

These simple races, who had lived their entire lives in the great forests, were unaware that in this world, there was something known as slogans. When it came to actually acting on those words, the reality might be quite different.

The leader of the Silent Tribe, Blue Crown, humbly said, "City Lord, you flatter us. We simply did what we had to do. We wonder if there is anything we can do in Mesnoel?"

"There is no rush," Gaven replied, caught off guard by the eagerness of these Sodalite Treants, who broached the topic of work so quickly. After all, his understanding of this unique species was limited, and he had to cram much information at the last minute.

"There is nothing much to settle in." Blue Crown was prepared, "We are similar to Treants, yet not the same. We can draw nutrients from fertile soil or absorb some through resonance with living trees. Gifts from the forest can also satisfy our hunger. As long as there are enough living trees around, we have sufficient homes."

Hearing this, Gaven’s gaze involuntarily fell to the feet of the Sodalite Treants, the part of their bodies least similar to humanoid creatures. Their lower legs were thicker than their upper legs, devoid of distinct heel and toe, possessing only two stout wooden pillars planted straight into the ground. At the point of contact with the earth sprouted seven or eight roots of varying thickness, akin to toes.

It was certainly not designed merely to grip the ground; when necessary, they could take root like Treants, drawing the nutrients they needed directly from the earth.

"I see," Gaven nodded, marvelling, yet he couldn’t help but ask, "So, you have no wants in Mesnoel?"

"Of course we do. We need a safe land to nurture our saplings," Blue Crown explained their unique racial continuity methods to Gaven.

At this, Gaven perked up. To have no desires was to be invulnerable; having needs made things much easier to handle, especially matters involving racial continuity, the very foundation of a species.

Most importantly, the unique method of propagation of the Sodalite Treants gave him hope for quickly cultivating many of their kind in a short period.

Given that he had a precious piece of land in his possession, he smiled and said to the two leaders of the Sodalite Treants, "I happen to have an excellent piece of land. Let me take you to see it."

The two leaders of the Sodalite Treants were about to nod in agreement when Gaven activated his Teleportation Spell.

When they reemerged, they were deep within the lowest reaches of the Tower of Dominion, at the former Land of Sealing of the Divine Root.
