Chapter 536: Chapter 447 Earth Resonance_1
The ones who clashed the most were General Stelina and Kellysha of the Mountain Camellias.
Despite the great differences in height and appearance between the two, they each saw a reflection of themselves in the other.
The Dwarves Elf heritage in their blood left indelible marks that were more than just skin deep. At their core, they possessed an unyielding spirit and were more competitive than their own kin, especially when facing each other, always seeking to outdo the other.
However, when the two clashed, the outcomes were evenly split.
Stelina had mastered the power of wind to an extreme. Many of her abilities had evolved beyond the Special Abilities granted by her profession as a Brolan of the Autumnbreeze. In her hands, the wind could assist her, accelerating her attack speed, increasing her movement speed, and even coalescing into blades to augment her attacks.
It could also serve as a force to hinder her enemies. Autumnbreeze Protection was a common tactic, and she developed the Wind Binding Technique from this base, entangling her opponent in wind, similar to how Gaven manipulated shadows, allowing herself to close in and launch her offensive.
Kellysha, on the other hand, had her unique insights and applications of the Earth’s power. In many ways, her skills paralleled Stelina’s, yet were distinct, and they developed new abilities by learning from each other during their sparring.
For instance, Stelina’s expanded use of the wind’s power originated from Kellysha’s inspiration. The first time they faced off, Stelina suffered significantly against Kellysha’s control over Earth Element, slow attacks, and an array of other abilities.
And Kellysha was just as elusive as Stelina, because she possessed the Earth Escape Technique, which allowed her short-distance teleportation as long as she stood on the ground.
In combat, Kellysha did not resemble a Spellcaster as much as she did a Berserk warrior. She wielded a pair of large two-handed greatswords with tremendous vigor. Although her strength couldn’t compare to that of a Golia Barbarian, she held an absolute advantage in technique and could, with the help of spells, unleash power far beyond theirs.
In the end, the two women became close friends, and whenever they had the chance, they would huddle together in conspiracy, which surely was not just about strategizing against the Dwarves Elves outside the city. They guarded their conversations like warding off thieves, instantly changing the subject whenever someone approached.
Yet in Mesnoel, an Elven city with many fantastical aspects, it was not easy to evade the watchful ears and eyes of Gaven, the controller of the Tower of Dominion, because he often saw further, heard further and perceived more than the average person.
It wasn’t that Gaven was intentionally spying on their secrets. He was still exploring the Tower of Dominion himself. And sometimes, the Tower would inadvertently provide little surprises that led to unintended consequences.
As previously mentioned, Mesnoel was a cohesive whole, especially the crystals. Many places, both above and underground, were interconnected. Wherever there was a connection, Gaven’s consciousness could travel along the energy pathways, often without deliberate intention; it was a mere thought away. He could achieve this even without being in the control room of the Tower of Dominion, simply by using the Insight Gemstone.
The pair were not plotting anything secretive; their relationship had simply grown. Conversations gradually turned to their backgrounds as they shared their deepest secrets with each other as a form of exchange. They harboured profound, ingrained hatred for the Dwarves Elves and had made a pact to support each other when moving to take revenge on the Dwarves Elves.
The relationships between the other Brolan of the Autumnbreeze and the Golia had also warmed significantly from the beginning, though not as intimately as those two.
As Kellysha said, the Golia were an unequivocal race of nature, venerating not the forests but the towering mountains and cliffs, possessing a natural love and reverence for the region.
In many ways, their philosophies could intersect.
Stelina imparting the Meditation Prayer Ritual to those Golia was indirect proof of this.
Gaven’s guess was correct; the Meditation Prayer Ritual was strikingly similar to the Gnoll’s Dragon Seeking Ritual Ceremony.
The Dragon Seeking Ritual Ceremony involved tapping into one’s own inner Giant Dragon Strength to resonate with nature, channeling external forces, refining one’s bloodline’s power in order to enhance oneself, whether it be Spell-Like Abilities, Dragon Blood, Dragonization, or other template exhibits of Enhancement.
The Meditation Prayer Ritual, on the other hand, was about proving one’s values to nature, resonating and vibrating with it to guide Natural Power to purify one’s body, thereby attaining Enhancement and unlocking certain Special Abilities.
After listening to Stelina’s explanation, most of the Golia looked baffled, as her method was highly idealistic and mixed with the philosophies of Yaling. Even though Stelina tried her best to exclude this portion, the concepts were extremely challenging for those with less knowledge, making it nearly impossible for them to find the right feeling.
Stelina wasn’t surprised by this reaction; after all, this was the Material Plane, where everything leans towards stability. This stability protected everything in the Material Plane but also made it difficult for beings to perceive and resonate with the grandeur of nature.
