Chapter 530: Chapter 445 Knowing the Enemy and Knowing Yourself_1

The first to the right is the chieftain of the Mountain Tribe, Eglaras, with Kellysha sitting close beside him, which counts as one seat. They represent the Golia of their tribe, with a combat force that can reach up to a hundred warriors.

Second to the right is Nola. After escorting the dark blight plants to Mesnoel and learning about the troubles on Gaven’s side, she sought guidance from Zalanda, leading a hundred of the Nort Guard Cavalry to remain here to assist Gaven.

Third to the right is the Tree Spirit Lola, who represents the dark animated plants under the Tower of Dominion.

Those on the left-hand side are the reinforcements, while on the right-hand side are the native forces under Thacel.

When Gaven finished introducing the general capabilities and forces of the six parties, the entire war council room fell into utter silence.

Let alone the two leaders of the Mountain Tribe and the Tree Spirit Lola, who had a limited understanding of Gaven’s resources, were so astonished that they were speechless.

Even Daphne, who considered herself Lord Gaven’s personal little secretary and thought she had him figured out completely, felt a bit dizzy.

As for the other forces, although she had not seen most of them, she at least knew a little, or had heard of them. But what in the world were these dark treants that the Tree Spirit Lola represented?

Are there still places in Mesnoel that she didn’t know about, forbidden to visit?

The nature of the Land of Sealing hasn’t changed, despite the absence of Divine Root. It remains a place of isolation, inaccessible to anyone except for Gaven, the master of the Tower of Dominion, who personally uses the teleportation spell infused into the tower. This includes Daphne, even in her shadow state.

But there was not a single ordinary person present; their capacity to accept information was exceedingly fast.

General Stelina was the first to speak up, "Lord, joint combat is not necessarily a good thing, especially with so many races coming together for the first time.

Far from displaying extraordinary power, it could actually lead to mutual restraint, particularly in the case of mostly non-natural races.

The impact will be even greater when fighting in dense forests. I suggest that we conduct several practice exercises to coordinate our efforts before we formally confront the enemy."

"That’s inevitable," Gaven agreed with a nod. "Mere understanding through words is far from enough, especially when dealing with cunning enemies like the Dwarves Elf. A slight carelessness could allow them to slip away or even bite back."

From his experience with multiracial alliances, Gaven knew the difficulties, particularly the various misperceptions brought about by racial differences. If not handled correctly, it could easily lead to grave misunderstandings and even conflicts and wars between otherwise benevolent races.

But once the forces were well integrated, the resulting synergies could achieve a magical effect greater than the sum of its parts.

Stelina continued, "I suggest carrying out a self-blessing ceremony, invoking the power of the Fairy Wilderness to bestow temporary Forest Stride abilities on these non-natural races, reducing the hindrance of the dense forest on them."

"There’s such a ceremony?" Gaven asked with a look of surprise. "What do I need to prepare?"

"No preparations are necessary," Stelina replied solemnly. "This ceremony is personal. One must pray devoutly and have a heartfelt love for nature, willing to embrace and accept it. Success depends entirely on the individual, and not everyone may receive a response."

"I understand," Gaven nodded in realization. This was just like the Gnolls’ Dragon Seeking Ritual Ceremony, embracing either the power of one’s bloodline or the natural forces.

After some thought, Gaven continued, "Then let everyone give it a try, but these attempts should take place inside the Tower of Dominion. Here, the consciousness of individuals, especially their Perception, is amplified, which might make it easier for them to sense the Natural Force."

"You may arrange as you see fit, my lord. However, from my personal experience, it won’t be of much use. It all depends on their individual reverence for nature. Without that, no matter how strong their Perception, it’s pointless," Stelina said, somewhat dismissively.

"In terms of reverence for nature, we Golia are no less than our forest-dwelling friends. We just revere nature in different ways. You revere nature for nurturing all life, while we revere its majestic Strength. I believe on this point, we can find a common language and unlock the blessings of nature," Kellysha, as the Great Shaman of the Mountain Tribe, had the most authority to speak on this matter.

Her abilities are not just a simple use of elemental forces, but are also guided by primitive beliefs, especially those involving the Golia’s own markings that are a true embodiment of Natural Power; however, their Natural Power originates from the earth, from the mountains.

Who’s to say that the forest is the only expression of nature?

Are not the mighty mountains an integral part of nature as well?

"Most unique way of thinking!" Stelina couldn’t help but take another deep look at Kellysha, impressed not only by the latter’s unconventional ideas but also by the hint of Dwarves Elf bloodline shining through.

Gaven, fearing that both parties would be touchy on the subject, did not speak of it openly.

But as individuals of mixed heritage, especially those of Dwarves mixed blood, they were acutely sensitive to each other. Upon first sight, they could almost certainly ascertain the other’s situation.

More than most people, they were curious about the stories related to Dwarves hidden behind one another, perhaps seeking resonance or an ally united against a common foe.
