Chapter 469: Chapter 407: Death by Corrosion_1
Corruption erupted.
The Half-Moon Colt suddenly reversed the entire process.
It instantly released the accumulated Corruption Power within its body.
Ten rings.
A full ten rings of Corruption Power were released by the Half-Moon Colt in one go, striking the Corruption Tentacle foremost, 10D6 of damage, becoming the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
The Corruption Tentacle actually broke apart.
The broken Corruption Tentacle burst open on the spot, the Corruption Power scattering everywhere, corrupt liquid splashing, and corrupted substance pouring down in torrents.
Without the control of the Corruption Root, this part of the Corruption Power became out of control.
Although the Corruption Power originated from the Corruption Root, it did not mean it could not be impacted and damaged; after all, it could not instantly accommodate and absorb so much Corruption Energy.
There was absolutely no pressure in unleashing Corruption Eruption in an already corrupted land.
After accomplishing this feat, the Half-Moon Colt then nonchalantly flew away from the Corruption Root.
"What happened? What just happened? How could the Divine Root be attacked? Could it be a deity has come knocking on our door?"
"What’s with that Pegasus? Not only can it absorb the Corruption Power, but it can also release it? How did she manage to do that?"
"Traitor, that’s a traitor. I can feel the live seed aura in her body; she must be a servant loyal to the God of Corruption and Degradation. She should not be able to resist her master’s divine will, so why could she attack the body of her lord?"
"This is an evil existence that must be destroyed."
Those Moando Servants who retained their Intelligence, both inside and outside the Corruption Root, all fell into frenzy.
They, just like the Dark Druid, were completely baffled by the abilities of the Half-Moon Colt that defied common knowledge.
Many, purely out of instinctive loyalty to Moando, felt that such an existence should not continue to exist. Destroying her was the best loyalty to the God of Corruption and Degradation.
Those with the ability to fly took to the air at once, relentlessly pursuing the Half-Moon Colt.
Those without the ability to fly, however, took off running, chasing wildly on the ground.
The scene was extremely chaotic.
Compared to the chaos outside, the situation within the Corruption Root was a little better, at least they did not act without the commands of the major Pet Servants.
The interior of the Corruption Root was even more bizarre than what Gaven and the others had caught a glimpse of, large sections of stone walls floating amidst the rot.
These stone walls were all engraved with exquisite, fluid carvings. The craftsmanship appeared so skillful, yet the portrayed scenes were horrifying and evil.
Heroes were brutally tortured by licentious anthropoid animals or non-human creatures, torn asunder by frenzied Beasts, or subjected to frying, freezing, melting, and even tormented by Giant Dragons, Eye Demons, and all sorts of fiercely evil wild beasts.
These were statues completely against Justice.
Here, Justice fell, and evil rose, with corruption following like a shadow.
At the deepest part of the Corruption Root, there was a large altar surrounded by red Dragon Teeth, with someone sitting cross-legged in the center.
In contrast to the surrounding decay, this person was immaculate, wearing a purple-bronze robe, a mask made from the skull of a young Green Dragon on the head, and with hands and feet exposed outside, fair and beautiful, without a trace of corruption.
Every extreme is bound to lead to its opposite.
Most Moando Servants would exude supreme distortion and ugliness, as if without such, they couldn’t properly honor Moando.
But in the case of the major Pet Servants, there was a fundamental reversal.
They were usually served by anthropoid races like Elves and Humans, who would possess eternal beauty bestowed by Moando as a reward for their loyalty. It is said that this beauty reached its peak in Moando’s spokespeople.
However, no one had seen Moando’s spokesperson alive; all who had were lured into the mire of corruption and degeneration, unable to extricate themselves.
"Terrible news, terrible news, exalted Pet Servant, a Pegasus, with the power to purify Corruption Power..." The Moando Servant who had fled into the Corruption Root flew to the supreme ruler, the major Moando Pet Servant.
Gaven’s attack, although it did not kill it, had inflicted severe damage, leaving it unable to recover from its Bestial Transformation in a short time, forcing it to speak in a strained and awkward manner.
"Was it you, idiot, who brought the enemy here to the Divine Root?" Behind the Pet Servant’s Dragon Bone mask, beautiful eyes glinted with endless coldness; the look given to the Moando Servant was as if seeing a stinking dead object.
This familiar gaze startled the Moando Servant, who screamed in panic, "Please spare me, lord, please spare me. I didn’t mean to lead them here. I came back to report to you, lord, I’m not afraid of dying... lord... uh, uh..."
The Pet Servant didn’t waste words with him, with an elegant movement of the fingers, countless glowing green vines shot forth, directly penetrating the head of the Moando Servant.
As if a fish out of water, the Moando Servant convulsed uncontrollably.
His power essence and his memories were being absorbed by the major Pet Servant.
By the time the major Pet Servant retracted its fingertip vines, this Moando Servant had already decayed beyond recognition, swallowed up by the Corruption Root, becoming part of its body.
The Pet Servant trembled uncontrollably, its voice quivering uncontrollably with excitement, laughing wildly, "My little Colt, my little Colt, I haven’t yet had the chance to find you, yet you’ve come to me. Haha... Moando will glory because of me today, to be reborn through me. Karina, today I will prove that I, Caroline, am more worthy of being Moando’s voice on Earth. All troops, attack, capture the live seed, Moando will glory because of us today."
With the Pet Servant’s excited shout.
The Dragon Tooth Altar closed, with uneven Dragon Teeth crisscrossing and piercing her body. What flowed out was not blood, but a stinking, rotten liquid.
This Pet Servant called Caroline fully exemplifies what is meant by "all that glitters is not gold."
The more resplendent and magnificent her appearance, the more sinister and corrupted her inner being.
The corrupt blood flowing from the Pet Servant’s body was like a superfood to the surrounding corruption, fully arousing its vitality.
Countless intertwining tendrils and fleshy sprouts of tentacles burst forth from the area around, spreading rapidly upwards before enveloping the large Pet Servant within them.
The large Pet Servant merged with the Corruption Giant Root, instantly spreading her will throughout the entire Corruption Giant Root.
Gag gag gag...
Accompanied by the low, vomiting-like roar.
The Corruption Giant Root, akin to a terrifying maggot, came thoroughly alive, beginning to move slowly.
Its movements went from infrequent to frequent.
A vast amount of matter was shed from its body.
Some turned into rotten water.
Some, upon hitting the ground, contorted and stretched, morphing into grotesque and distorted Corruption Creatures.
These Corruption Creatures were numerous and varied.
There were Dark Treants, a fusion of several treants twisted together, with multiple limbs and extremities.
There were also humanoid monstrosities formed from an accumulation of rotting tendrils, tree roots, vegetables, leaves, and flesh; these had thick lower bodies and tentacle-like arms, many with decaying humanoid faces that floated within, symbolizing the typical image of the God of Corruption and Degradation—the Vine Fiend.
There were also dreadful beings resembling rotting mud, covered in humanlike eyes all over.
Then there were the bizarre creatures made of entwined leaves and vines, their bodies covered in nauseating mucus, with an incredibly bloated lower half like an animal’s stomach. Several tendrils twisted together to form a massive tentacle, between two vine-like tentacles was a jaw lined with thorny fangs—these were the Tentacle Demon Vines.
Unlike the other dark monsters, these Tentacle Demon Vines didn’t fall after sprouting from the Corruption Giant Root’s body. Instead, they densely rooted on top of it, resembling tiny tentacles.
As the Corruption Giant Root moved, their positions shifted, congregating from the scattered distribution across the whole body to clustering beneath it.
As it cast off large parts of its body, the Corruption Giant Root’s size and shape became increasingly smaller and leaner.
If one were to make a comparison, it was transforming from an immobile, grotesquely obese person to a strapping man with well-defined muscles.
With more and more Tentacle Demon Vines gathering beneath it, surpassing the hundreds, the Corruption Giant Root no longer merely swayed from side to side but began to move slowly back and forth—it was transforming, like the Dragon Oak Mother Tree, into a living creature that could move, becoming the true nest of corruption.
Don’t assume the number of Tentacle Demon Vines, in the hundreds, is low—they belong to a Transcendent magical creature, possessing at least ten Life Dice, equivalent in size to many treants.
And such beings only suffice as a part of the Corruption Giant Root’s tendrils, one can only imagine the terrifying scale of its form.
Once its transformation is complete, its warmode will be unspeakably horrific.
Although it’s still not in the same league as the Dragon Oak Mother Tree.
But the Dragon Oak Mother Tree after all has not moved, more tree-like than a living being.
And now the Corruption Giant Root has started to move.
Compared with the rest of the body, the most intense change occurred in the root-tentacles that had taken root on the Mystlock Locks of Mesnoel.
Rather than shrinking as the Corruption Giant Root slimmed down, they became thicker and thicker, tripling their original size within just a few minutes.
Their role also underwent a fundamental reversal.
Originally, they drew necrotic power from the Mystlock Locks of Mesnoel, corrupting the surrounding forest.
Now, they were madly infusing the concentrated corruption power into the Necrotic Maze Lock.
This uncalculated infusion inflicted more damage than the massive extraction, and within minutes, the Necrotic Maze Lock swelled with rich blackness, expanding outward until it doubled its original area.
The Mystlock Locks of Mesnoel, neglected for hundreds of years with no maintenance, could not endure such frenzied torment and collapsed thunderously.
The intrinsic power of the Necrotic Maze Lock and the force injected by the Corruption Giant Root instantly swept across tens of kilometers of land.
Not only were the trees here shrouded in blackness, but many weaker animals and plants also died on the spot, and even the soil turned black and putrid, deep into the ground.
The elf city of Mesnoel bore the brunt, with every building void of greenery and all water sources turning putrid and black.
This pearl of Mir Forest had been desecrated.
As Mesnoel and the surrounding forest were defiled and corrupted,
An invisible force converged there.
This intangible yet putrid and evil force was beyond description; even the filthiest, most repugnant places couldn’t compare to a fraction of this sensation.
Corruption Divinity!
This was the most vile of sacrifices offered to Moando — the Death of Corruption.
But Moando had already fallen, and even though Corruption Divinity had arisen, there was no way to convey it to him; ultimately, it converged upon the Corruption Giant Root, the originator.
This accelerated its metamorphosis even further.
More trees darkened, swaying as they transformed into Dark Trees, converging towards the Corruption Giant Root.
