Chapter 436: Chapter 375 Taking Advantage of the Situation_1

"We’ve run out of those, this is the only one left. Magic Items are easy to obtain, but finding suitable ones is difficult. However, I will pay more attention to collecting them in the future," Gaven said as he fitted the bridle to Luna, "After reaching the sky, do you know how to shout?"

"I know," the Half-Moon Colt replied while adjusting to the new equipment, "Do you want me to demonstrate for you?"

"That won’t be necessary, as long as you clearly express our location and intentions. Whether they decide to come or not is up to them," Gaven placed a great deal of trust in Luna.

Though she was an intelligent equine being, the education she received at the Hammer of the Holy Light Abbey wasn’t any worse than that of a Holy Warrior Apprentice, including writing; she even had a dedicated Writing Sand Tray at the abbey.

"Then I’m off," the Half-Moon Colt trotted away and spread her massive wings, taking to the sky and flying toward the location of the Hammer of the Holy Light Abbey.

As her figure began to shrink in the distance, a loud and clear voice rang out, "Duke Gaven, Guardian of Gryphon Hill in Battle Valley, Three Rivers Region, will host a bonfire feast and sing the Fairy Song at the summer solstice festival. All good-hearted people are invited to attend."

A smile crept onto Gaven’s face as Luna’s voice echoed. She had not disappointed his trust; identity, location, and purpose were all conveyed clearly in just a few sentences. That was all he wanted, to have the message spread; he didn’t need to worry about the rest.

Those who understood would understand; it didn’t matter whether the others who didn’t understand would come or not.

After sending off the Half-Moon Colt, Gaven immediately returned to the Dragon Oak Mother Tree and consulted Lord Virginia on the matter.

Upon hearing Gaven’s idea, Lord Virginia’s eyes lit up, and he praised continuously, "Why didn’t I think of this method earlier? It’s a great opportunity to get closer to other Fae Races. We should have been doing this a long time ago.

In fact, Luna didn’t need to make a trip to the Rose Tower alone; we could have directly notified everyone through the Dragon Oak Dream Realm. But since she has taken on the task of informing the other Fae Races in the Comanso Great Forest, it doesn’t matter."

"Then it’s settled. Take some time to go there in five days. The hosting of the Fairy Song is yours and no one else’s," Gaven said with a smile.

After considering for a moment, Lord Virginia shook his head and said, "I can’t go that day..."

Gaven’s expression became serious as he asked, "What? You can’t spare the time? Is that Slave Empire up to its little tricks again?"

"Wait till I finish my sentence," Lord Virginia said, a bit annoyed, "Not going doesn’t mean I won’t participate. I plan to hold a Fairy Song at the Dragon Oak Mother Tree at the same time, echoing yours from a distance. When you connect with the Dragon Oak Mother Tree, the two events can merge into one. I think this way, the effect will be better than holding it alone in the Material Plane. It might even be possible to bring our relations closer and open direct communication between the two places."

"Open the veils to the Dragon Oak Mother Tree?" Gaven stood up abruptly, unable to control the trembling throughout his body; it was a tremble of excitement.

If such a situation were to occur, it would be of immense value.

It meant that the Dragon Oak Territory would be indirectly connected to the Three Rivers Region, allowing for the rapid exchange of resources.

"Don’t get too excited yet," Lord Virginia said, seeing Gaven’s overreaction, and quickly threw cold water on his expectations, "I only said it’s possible since stories of the Fairy Wilderness and the Material Plane singing the Fairy Song and resonating together are only found in legends. I’ve never witnessed it myself.

You know the uniqueness of the veils. They are easy to destroy but hard to open, and highly unpredictable.

As opposed to the possibility of opening a permanent veil, it’s more likely to create a temporary one that lasts for the duration of the Fairy Song, allowing the Fae Race to come and go."

"Even a temporary veil has a high value. We can plan ahead and take the opportunity to exchange some resources. Also, help me transfer some Gnolls over," Gaven said, not too disappointed.

This was after all a bonus, a cherry on top. Even without it, they would still sing the Fairy Song.

"You really can squeeze oil out of a stone, making the most of everything," Lord Virginia couldn’t help but shake his head and sigh, "Don’t think about a large-scale resource exchange. After all, the Fairy Song can only be sung for one night. However, relocating the Gnolls should not be a problem. Let them be among the participants as well."

"Understood, you arrange it from your end. As for moving the Gnolls, I will make arrangements too." Gaven, originally planning to just send a message and return, had to revise his entire schedule.

Upon returning to Eagle Cliff Town of Dragon Oak Territory, a temporary meeting of Gnoll leaders was convened.

Mayor Buck couldn’t help asking, "Lord, how many people do you plan to transfer this time?"

Since Chester was reassigned, he had been temporarily filling the position of mayor.

"How many can you spare without stopping the current construction work?" Dragon Oak Territory was short of idle Gnolls; every one of them had their duties and job positions.

Although Gaven was often away from Dragon Oak Territory, it didn’t mean that development had slowed.

Their period of silence referred only to the halt in territorial expansion.

But their internal efforts in development continued without pause.

Eagle Cliff Town was beginning to take shape, the way towards High Road had been planned, and construction was ready to begin at any time.

Even the Blood Claw Garrison Town was secretly laying its foundations.

There were no issues with the large-scale planning to establish a garrison town here. Once their strength grew further and the path to expansion was resumed, the construction of Blood Claw Garrison Town would officially begin.

"About five thousand," Buck answered roughly after calculating.

"Too few," Gaven shook his head, "If construction at the Dragon Oak Mother Tree was slightly halted, maintaining just enough population for basic operations, approximately how many could you spare?"

He initially thought he had a considerable number of Gnolls at his disposal, even to the extent of implementing planned reproduction policies.

But when it came time for a large-scale mobilization, he realized that the overall quantity he could mobilize was too small.

"Around ten thousand," Buck answered quickly.

"It’s still a bit short, five days, I’ll give you five days to gather fifteen thousand gnolls for me, with ten thousand of them being skilled workers, and the remaining five thousand to be filled by the young and inexperienced," Gaven issued the order, ultimately only mobilizing a portion of the Dragon Oak Mother Tree, leaving the part in the Dragon Oak Territory untouched.

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

It was originally said about the Dragon Oak Territory, and now, applied to the Three Rivers Region, is equally appropriate.

The development of the Three Rivers Region cannot be allowed to delay that of the Dragon Oak Territory.

Indeed, the Three Rivers Region has its own advantages.

The Rocklands also have their own benefits.

A dual-track layout aims for simultaneous progress.

"Understood," Mayor Buck responded loudly.

Having settled the matter with the gnolls, Gaven returned to the Dragon Oak Mother Tree and sought out the Hobgoblin Chieftain Blood Claw.

True to their reputation as the most belligerent military race, even within the Dragon Oak Mother Tree, these hobgoblins were not idle, their daily training regimen was extraordinarily demanding.

When Gaven arrived, Blood Claw was leading them, drenched in sweat, through a strenuous physical training session.

"Lord," Blood Claw immediately sprang to his feet and gave Gaven a proper chest-thumping military salute.

"How is it? Are you getting used to life here?" Gaven glanced over them briefly, and couldn’t help but nod in satisfaction; they had not let him down. Even in their idle lives, they maintained their bodies in peak condition.

A hint of unabashed joy appeared on the rigid face of the Hobgoblin Warlord, "Reporting to Lord, this place is simply a sanctuary for training. All of the Blood Oathsworn have activated their professional templates and become Combat Profession Practitioners, and even among those in the reserves there are nearly three hundred."

"Very good," Gaven’s expression remained relatively composed.

The body of the Dragon Oak Mother Tree was filled with a rich life force.

This life force, although it didn’t directly enhance these hobgoblins who weren’t connected to the dragon veins, when they trained fervently here, a portion of it still entered their bodies, nourishing and strengthening them.

Experience value isn’t gained only when affecting others; it can also be gathered through training, which is a process of self-influence. The amount is relatively small, however, and accumulates over time, gradually and in an orderly progression.

"Do you want to stretch your muscles a bit?"

"A mission? We can leave from here?" Blood Claw’s spirits lifted at once upon hearing this.

"The heat has died down a bit now," Gaven nodded, "the main thing is, this mission isn’t in the Northern Lands, it’s in Thacel."

As he spoke, he pulled out a Felen Grand Map, spread it on the ground, and pointed to the location of Thacel, then continued, "The Marching Mountains in Thacel are also known as the Goblin Nest, which has a large number of Hobgoblin, Goblin Tribe, Orc, and Ogre tribes. My homeland is there.

This kingdom is constantly harassed by the monster races of the Marching Mountains. I’ve negotiated with my ally there, Ms. Zalanda, and we’re ready to implement a policy of using barbarians to control barbarians, supporting a Hobgoblin Tribe within the Marching Mountains."

"Lord wishes us Blood Claws to be this tribe?" The eyes of the Hobgoblin Chieftain sparkled with excitement at the plan, showing not the slightest aversion but rather a strong interest.

In terms of racial glory, the hobgoblins were far behind the orcs. To them, all other hobgoblins were equal to other people—either tools for their own expansion or their enemies.

Gaven nodded, "Compared to those unrelated Hobgoblin Tribes, you are indeed a better choice. Once you enter the Marching Mountains, I won’t control your actions, nor will I ask for any taxes from you. There’s only one requirement—that your blades must not point towards Thacel. As for other directions, which are beyond my jurisdiction, I wonder if you are willing to take on this assignment? This is a long-term mission, and once accepted, it will be very difficult for you to return to the Northern Lands. Think it over carefully; you have three days..."

This was the result of his careful consideration.

Though Ms. Zalanda, with the Divine Artifact of the War Path in her hands, did not fear large-scale collective warfare,

it is still best not to raise tigers that may become threats later.

Because of the blood oath, his influence over Blood Claw and the Blood Claw Army was still substantial.

Even if Blood Claw did manage to become powerful and independent from their control later on, by wielding the blood oath, Gaven could still force Blood Claw to keep their troops out of Thacel.

The opposite side of the Marching Mountains was not Thacel, but the territory of the Slave Empire, Karinshan.

"No need for three days," Blood Claw interrupted Gaven, saying, "I can give you an answer right now. I am willing to take on this mission. Even if I am in a foreign land, I will still remain loyal to Lord."

In this world, there could hardly be a task more suitable for him.

Having enough autonomy.

And most importantly, the opportunity to start wars.

A stable life has never suited hobgoblins, nor him.

War, war is the fertile soil where they thrive and grow.

With that secured, what does traveling to distant lands amount to?

"Good, how many people will you take?" Gaven was just as decisive, not dragging the conversation out with Blood Claw.
