Chapter 361 - 301 Five-Willow Union_1
Chapter 361: Chapter 301 Five-Willow Union_1
The river in the Land of Sealing wasn’t particularly wide, about eight or nine meters, but it was very deep. At least from above, one couldn’t clearly see the shape of the fine gold coffin— it must have been at least five or six meters deep.
The artificial traces were quite obvious, with virtually no silt present. Where it originated and where it flowed were unknown; it was merely a passerby, a tool.
As for naming the five treants, naturally it was the simplest and most straightforward way, from one to five.
To facilitate differentiation, Mr. Gaven even had them directly condense large, capital numbers— one, two, three, four, five— onto themselves, simple and clear.
After all, their intelligence wasn’t very high, and they didn’t care about this at all.
Yiliu responded in a muffled voice and then slowly walked up, only to completely disappear with one step.
The man-made waterway, though not completely vertical, lacked the normal buffering of a riverbed, resulting in Yiliu stepping into emptiness.
Startled, Gaven and the others hurriedly rushed over to check.
Fortunately, it was a false alarm. Yiliu’s two muscular arms were firmly pinned to the riverbank, and to increase its grip, it even sprouted roots that dug deep into the ground.
Soon, Yiliu stood up from the river, and standing fully upright, only about one meter of it emerged above the water’s surface.
With Yiliu’s pioneering the path, the entry of the remaining four willows into the water was much easier.
Without needing Gaven’s commands, after entering the water, the Five-Willow began half-rooting themselves in the river, using their root systems to firmly anchor themselves in the swift current.
Although they weren’t too smart, their survival instincts were fully intact.
"There’s a coffin fixed with chains in the underground river. Find it and try to pull out the chains that are securing it," Gaven commanded the Five-Willow.
The target was large and within minutes, the Five-Willow successfully located it.
The Five-Willow were straightforward. They huffed and puffed at the fine gold coffin, causing splashes everywhere, the fine gold chains rattled loudly, yet they couldn’t budge them an inch.
"Don’t waste your strength," Olive shook her head and said, "Although these treants aren’t small, the water is too deep for them to leverage their power. The struggle strength of that Dwarves Elf Vampire Lord we saw before seemed much greater than this and to prevent its escape, it must have been buried very deeply."
"If it doesn’t work, then let’s not force it and temporarily leave it here. With so many powerful treants unable to lift it, others might not have the ability," August suggested.
"It seems I have to use my last resort," Gaven’s expression wasn’t one of loss, but rather he was eager to try.
"Last resort? Do you have any other tricks up your sleeve?"
Everyone exhibited a curious expression, unable to think of any trick Gaven could have under these circumstances.
After all, even the combined effort of five treants couldn’t manage the task.
Gaven answered them with action, "Use the Five-Willow Union."
"Understood, my Lord," the Five-Willow responded in the river with a muffled voice.
The two treants that were close to each other walked towards the nearest one, reached out their hands, and lifted it into the air; their willow branches began to dance, entwining with the roots of the treant raised in the air. The treant in the air bent over and reached out, grabbing the heads of the two remaining willows in its hands.
Like the previous two treants, the captured ones’ willow branches also wildly grew, not only fully covering their arms but also creeping towards their chests. After the branches entwining their arms connected, they grew further downwards, intertwining with the branches serving as two legs.
Until they completely enveloped the torso, forming an impenetrable weave of willow branches that doubled the size of the upper body.
"What in the world is that?"
"A treant combination skill?"
"Do these five willow trees combine into a larger treant?"
"Treants have such abilities?"
"No, treants definitely don’t have such abilities. I’ve never even heard of it."
"Could it be that the five willows were originally one being? What we’ve seen just now were all clones?"
The scene before them left the crowd slack-jawed.
None of those present were ordinary humans, and they had witnessed various fantastical scenes, but such a fantasy as they were seeing now was a first.
It completely surpassed their comprehension.
"Don’t you think something’s missing?"
"Indeed, it feels like something’s missing!"
"The head, the head of this fellow is a bit too small."
Everyone quickly realized the odd part— the combined Five-Willow adjusted every other part of their body, making the overall proportions more symmetrical and humanoid, except for the head. Instead of a head, it resembled more of a neck, with disheveled hair like before the unification.
The next second, they found out why.
The combined Five-Willow stepped to the riverbank and invited Gaven, "My Lord, would you care to join us?"
The voice of the combined Five-Willow True Form was strange; it wasn’t the voice of one individual but the chorus of the Five-Willow speaking simultaneously.
"Join? How so?" Now it was Gaven’s turn to be curious.
"My Lord, please ascend," the Five-Willow True Form extended its right hand to Gaven.
This arm had nearly lost all traces of treant lineage, transformed into the shape of a human hand with five fingers. Ignoring the size, the overall proportions were symmetrical.
Gaven stepped up without hesitation. The treants he had awakened would surely not betray him, and even in the absence of enforceable allegiance, their memories were imparted by him.
With a lift, the Five-Willow True Form placed him at the head position.
The surrounding willow branches immediately stood on end, intertwining and weaving to envelop Gaven from head to toe.
Gaven remained still, allowing the Five-Willow True Form to operate. He had guessed what the Five-Willow True Form was about to do.
This wasn’t the War God Vajra; this was Treant Mecha— the Five-Willow Treant Mecha.
Sure enough, when the willow branches wrapped him up tightly, Gaven felt his thoughts expanding outward, the Five-Willow True Form’s control completely fell into his hands.
He involuntarily moved his arms, lifted his feet, and even adopted a fighting stance, throwing out two jabs, resulting in the entire underground river beginning to churn tumultuously.
"Mr. Gaven, it’s Mr. Gaven, no mistake—it must be Mr. Gaven controlling the amalgamated treant!"
"Today has truly been an eye-opener. Not only can treants combine, but they can even be controlled by someone. If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes and someone else told me, I definitely wouldn’t believe them and would’ve slapped them twice."
"If we were to tell others about what we’ve witnessed today, their reactions would be just like yours."
"Now I have no doubts about Mr. Gaven raising the Coffin of Sealing from the underground river."
"What’s Mr. Gaven doing? Why has he suddenly stopped moving?"
"He’s probably adapting. After all, this is also his first time controlling an amalgamated treant."
All those present firmly believed that the Five-Willow True Form was controlled by Gaven.
Not only because Gaven was seen being enveloped by it before their eyes, but also because the face woven from willow branches on the Five-Willow True Form now bore a six to seven tenths resemblance to Gaven. No one believed it was merely a coincidence.
After experimenting briefly with the body’s conditions, Gaven immediately called up the full details of the True Form.
Five-Willow True Form
Life Force: 231 (15D12+135)
Size: Huge
Attributes: Strength 29, Dexterity 10, Constitution 28, Intelligence 13, Perception 16, Charisma 16
Special Abilities:
Clone Throwing (Special Ability) — The willow branches that form the arms can split off and be thrown as an attack. Once they approach the target, they can recombine.
Free Combination (Special Ability) — The positions of the five willow trees can be freely switched, with two forms, humanoid and beast. The beast form can only be used by the True Form.
Siege Monster (Special Ability) — Damage to objects and constructions is doubled, especially against wooden items.
Overwhelm (Transcendent Strength Bonus) — Creatures smaller than itself are at a disadvantage in strength contests, making them easier to knock down and trample.
Negative Energy Regeneration (Transcendent Physique Bonus) — Can draw on negative energy to heal one’s own wounds.
Negative Energy Guidance and Purification (Special Ability) — When the Five-Willow roots in the same area, it can connect with Weizemay Manor, directing negative energy from this place to the manor.
Manipulation Right Granting (Special Ability) — There exists a close mental connection between the Five-Willow and Gaven, allowing the manipulation rights to be temporarily granted to Gaven, lasting a duration equal to Gaven’s Intelligence Modifier/minutes, once per day.
Clone Throwing and Free Combination are based on the combination ability.
Clone Throwing seems strong, but in fact, can only serve as a backup because throwing one’s arms as projectiles is akin to severing a limb, weakening one’s combat strength. It doesn’t seem like a good deal at all.
Without any doubt, currently in humanoid form, the beast form wouldn’t make much difference, as it is mainly a matter of movement speed.
Siege Monster, Overwhelm, and Negative Energy Regeneration are common, regular abilities. At this size and strength, they are practically a given.
Negative Energy Guidance and Purification is a special ability of the Five-Willow, a combination technique usable even outside the True Form.
Manipulation Right Granting is related to oneself and is probably the result of special enlightenment or a unique situation; it is irreplicable.
After seeing the time limit, Gaven didn’t dare to delay. He immediately used Bionic Art on Intelligence, activated Overclocking, and raised his Intelligence straight to 26 points, reaching an Intelligence Modifier of eight [(26-10)/2=8].
Then, following the Fine Gold Coffin, he located the first Fine Gold Chain.
The water of the underground river, which reached the neck of the Five-Willow clone, barely covered the thighs of the Five-Willow True Form. This made things much simpler.
Crack crack!
The Fine Gold Chain was taut and let out a moan of agony.
The strength of 29 points seemed only 7 points more than that of the split form, not much at first glance.
But the strength unleashed by something of a huge size compared to something of merely a large size was not on the same level.
Especially the Overwhelm ability, which made the strength contest consider the size as colossal.
points was at the pinnacle of the Transcendent, just one step away from Legendary.
As strength gathered to its peak, a faint black mist drifted out from the body of the Five-Willow True Form, then gathered behind it to form the shape of Weizemay Manor.
Crack!
Gaven seemed to hear the sound of rocks bursting deep within the underground river.
The Fine Gold Chain noticeably slackened for a moment.
There’s a chance!
A flicker of joy passed through Gaven’s mind as he no longer relied solely on brute strength, but instead swung the Fine Gold Chain back and forth, trying to widen the loose end as much as possible.
"Return!" Gaven barked sharply.
The dispersed black mist all drew back in—not just that, the true phantom belonging to Weizemay Manor emerged, and a torrent of negative energy poured vigorously into the Five-Willow True Form, giving the impression that its wooden muscles were slightly bulging.
All strength was channeled into one point.
With a boom,
The Five-Willow True Form involuntarily leaned back, and the other end of the Fine Gold Chain was already in his hands.
Attached to the other end of the Fine Gold Chain was not a simple nail, but damn it, an anchor—a large anchor.
The Fine Gold Chain was definitely not hammered in, but rather cast in place with the Stone Shaping Spell.
With this successful first attempt, the rest was easy.
Following the same method, it took roughly a minute per chain and, by the time all the Fine Gold Chains had been pulled out and the Fine Gold Coffin was hauled ashore, Gaven had been squeezed out from the Five-Willow True Form.
The large Fine Gold Coffin, which appeared so in the eyes of Gaven and his peers, was like a fairly large toy in the hands of the Five-Willow True Form, swinging around the eight large anchors with ease.
