Chapter 254: Chapter 202 The Rhyme of the Foul Giant_1

Gaven could certainly detonate the explosion himself, but killing the Foul Giants would bestow a Charisma bonus, a key casting attribute for a Magician. If there was an opportunity, of course he wanted Zack to try to gain it.

Zack didn’t hesitate. He released his control over the Stone Shaping Spell and, sensing the triggering device of the Dragon Tremor Bomb, he emitted the detonation signal.

Not everyone could trigger a Dragon Tremor Bomb—if that were the case, there would be far too many people with strong Perception in this world.

Each batch came with its own unique incantation to prevent theft or unauthorized detonation.

"What is this thing? I’m going to kill you all!" The Foul Giant coughed violently, trying to spit the Dragon Tremor Bomb out of its throat, while desperately trying to crawl out.

One arm regained freedom and the instant pitfall lost Zack’s maintenance. The Giant struggled less intensely now, managing to pull most of his body out after only a few efforts.

Bang! Bang!

Two dull sounds emitted from the body of the Foul Giant.

One in the throat, the other deep in the mouth.

Although the Dragon Tremor Bomb was not known for the shockwave produced by its explosion, in a confined space, it still inflicted unimaginable damage.

The one that burst in the throat tore the Foul Giant’s throat apart, spewing green Strong Acid Breath, which poured down the esophagus and windpipe.

The one that exploded deep in the mouth tore his head apart from the lower jaw, sending the upper half flying off.

Even with the Foul Giant’s strong Constitution, it was still a body of flesh. With half of its head gone, life was unsustainable. Its upper body, about to crawl out, collapsed with a crash.

At the same time, a great amount of Magic Power elements converged around Zack.

Not only did Zack gain +1 Charisma, his Professional Level also increased by one.

For him, this was an unequivocal challenge beyond his level, the kind that spanned several grades. Even if the kill was a team effort, the experience that fell on him was plentiful.

The influx of a large amount of magic power elements revitalized the somewhat exhausted Zack with a new fighting spirit. He quickly assisted Susie, who also appeared drained.

With Zack’s help, Gaven didn’t bother with the Foul Giant anymore. If he could just last a few more minutes, he would suffocate. The Giant’s efforts to struggle were noticeably weakening. Gaven simply instructed Zack, "Give the killing right to Susie."

Though Zack, engrossed in casting spells, didn’t directly answer Gaven, the flicker in his eyes showed he heard and understood.

Their tactics were the result of meticulous consideration and research, including the benefits of killing a Foul Giant for the first time, which would grant a Charisma +1. Gaven had also briefed them on this.

Given the chance, they had to prioritize giving the right to kill to those who hadn’t had the opportunity yet to maximize benefits.

Gaven targeted Thornspike, unleashing his Psychic Bullet without reservation.

The Deformed Golden Crown on Prince Elton’s head suddenly burst into a dazzling golden light.

Gaven felt as if his brain had been brutally shot, freezing in place for several seconds before he could recover.

The Deformed Golden Crown not only protected against psychic attacks but even reflected them, giving Gaven a taste of his own Psychic Bullet.

It was fortunate they had an absolute advantage, otherwise any Foul Giant or Cyclops could have taken him down with a single blow.

Finding his most potent attack futile against Prince Elton, Gaven immediately redirected his Psychic Bullet toward the two Cyclopses facing off the Twilight Guardian.

Compared to their master, the Cyclopses surprisingly boasted higher resistance against psychic attacks.

The first three Psychic Bullets were withstood by sheer endurance, only the fourth one had an effect for less than a second.

For the Twilight Guardian, that second was enough.

Although it was difficult to kill the tough-skinned Cyclops, blowing up its sole eye was not.

Blinding yet another physically.

The other Cyclops wasn’t even left to Gaven and the Twilight Guardian to deal with.

Susie had already made the kill, gifting it with the last Instant Pitfall.

Compared to the Foul Giants, the Cyclopses were an entire level shorter in height, averaging about four meters.

They could barely reach the edge of the pitfall with their arms raised.

Zack, following behind, didn’t give it a chance, sealing the pitfall entrance and trapping it within.

Their strategy was determined from the start: prioritize killing the Foul Giants and capture the Cyclopses if possible.

The Cyclopses of the Fairy Wilderness, although closely related to those from Felen, were not as notoriously stupid as their relatives from the Material Plane. The Cyclopses were renowned craftsmen in the Fairy Wilderness, responsible for crafting the palaces and armament of the Foul Giants.

They aligned with lawful evil rather than the chaotic evil of the Foul Giants, which naturally made them valuable to keep.

No matter the Dog Demons or the Red Dragons, they proved that.

No matter the alignment, as long as they remained firmly under control, they could be of great use and create value.

Foul Giants like these Gaven didn’t plan to keep any of them.

Considering their corruptive abilities, Gaven found no use for them, struggling enough to eliminate their influence regularly.

The Twilight Guardian abandoned the physically blinded Cyclops and burst out of Thornspike’s body, assaulting Prince Elton from both sides.

When Thornspike was rooted, it was considered a tree.

The Twilight Guardian’s Wood Escape Technique could be used on it then.

It could not be used in an unrooted state.

Prince Elton was already overloaded defending against Thornspike’s attacks. Now, with the Twilight Guardian added to the fray, all he could do was parry.

Seeing an opportunity, Thornspike withdrew Prince Elton’s oversized war axe from its body.

The magical roots withered and fell away, including those entwined around Prince Elton.

Thornspike canceled its rooted state, mobilizing its body to counterattack.

Clutching Thornspike in his hands, Prince Elton wielded his gigantic battle axe with the ferocity of a storm unleashed.

To say that Thornspike knew nothing of axe techniques would have made Prince Elton the first to disbelieve.

Prince Elton was acutely aware of the savagery of his own gigantic battle axe; he would rather take three punches from a Twilight Guardian than let Thornspike land a single strike.

"Ahhh..."

Prince Elton let out a mournful and angry roar, knowing today he couldn’t possibly escape unscathed.

Even when cornered, he didn’t kneel to beg for mercy.

It wasn’t that he was particularly unyielding, nor that the Foul Giants lacked a tradition of surrender.

It was because the enmity between the Foul Giants and Yaling was irreconcilable; falling into their hands meant much more than a simple struggle for survival.

He raised his sturdy right arm, steeling himself to withstand a chopping blow from Thornspike.

An arm thicker than an elephant’s leg, knotted with muscle, shockingly failed to withstand the chop, severed straight through the middle of the forearm.

Prince Elton stuffed the pipe-shaped Breath of the Black Mirror into his mouth and took three heavy drags.

A single puff of the Breath of the Black Mirror was enough to petrify a common Foul Giant into a deathlike state.

Three puffs of the Breath of the Black Mirror sacrificed Prince Elton’s soul to the Black Mirror, in exchange for even more immense and sinister power.

From the inside out, Prince Elton began to turn a grayish-black hue.

When the Twilight Guardian’s fists struck his body again, wood splinters flew wildly, yet not one managed to penetrate.

Thornspike’s second axe blow, which swiftly followed, struck squarely on the unprotected chest of Prince Elton.

The expected scene of flesh being cleaved open didn’t occur; instead, the gigantic battle axe was deflected high in the air, and the spot where it struck lost only a small chunk, revealing the material beneath.

It looked somewhat like soil and stone, yet also like metal—certainly not flesh and blood.

"Ahhh..."

Prince Elton let out a second, feral outcry.

In response, those surviving Dark Servants in the vicinity also let loose desperate wails.

One by one, they collapsed to the ground convulsively, their twisted dark souls writhing out from their bodies, drawn by an invisible force toward Prince Elton.

"Stop them," Gaven pulled out a Spirit Container, replenishing his Psychic Power Points while madly firing Psychic Bullets.

Although he didn’t fully understand what this Foul Giant leader was attempting, the stance he was taking was clearly up to no good; simply preventing the enemy from achieving their goal seemed right.

Every twisted soul targeted by Gaven’s Psychic Bullet collapsed on the spot without exception.

But the boon of replenishing Gaven’s Psychic Power Points did not come to fruition; the energy of the erupted souls dissipated into the surrounding environment instead of being drawn into his body.

Such luck only occurred in the Dragon Oak Dream Realm, where as GM Lord Virginia had all laws infinitely biased in his favor.

The Red Copper Dragon, Fire Dragon, Twilight Guardian, and Thornspike all made their moves.

While their methods of attack were supremely powerful against physical forms, their effectiveness was significantly diminished against these spiritual bodies.

The combined force of their attacks paled in comparison to Gaven’s reckless, unbridled shooting.

Even after two Giant Dragons repeatedly cleansed the Dark Cavern, the numbers of Dark Servants still amounted to hundreds.

Only a small portion were intercepted by Gaven; the majority still managed to burrow into Prince Elton’s body.

"Ahhh..."

Prince Elton let out a third roar, one of pain.

As a horde of twisted servants joined him, Prince Elton became engulfed in a thick black fog. From his severed arm, countless buds composed of black fog squirmed outward, regenerating at a visibly rapid pace.

Once reshaped, it was no longer made of flesh but instead shimmered with the same dark gray color.

Prince Elton wasn’t just healing; his body was growing at a visible rate, and not just in height.

Two new pairs of arms and two new heads, one large and one small, also forcibly emerged.

"Three heads, six arms! So Gaven wasn’t just spinning a tale, three heads and six arms truly exist!"

The one who exclaimed loudly wasn’t Gaven, but the Young Red Copper Dragon, whom Gaven had recently been telling the story of Nezha causing havoc in the sea.

But Prince Elton’s three heads and six arms had nothing to do with Nezha, the demon-churning lord.

Because he had no consideration for any symmetry, his arms were mismatched in thickness, the three heads varied in size, and their placement was bizarre.

One head was on his chest with an arm positioned right below it.

Another head was on his shoulder, but completely out of proportion to the original head; it was so small and pitiful, resembling a malformed tumor.

Two arms grew out from his back, reversed and entwined in black fog.

His already monstrous and deformed appearance now became all the more grotesque and misshapen.

In Felen, such a condition was known as ’Magic Distortion’—a state warped by magical forces.

Everyone knew that something was amiss with Prince Elton now, as he had drawn out all the powers from the depths of his being.

Roderick’s Flame Dragon’s Breath struck him, igniting the black fog covering him with a sizzling sound, but barely affecting the dark gray body beneath, only leaving an abnormally dark redness, much like the scene when a Twilight Guardian’s stone structure suffers intense smelting.

The Young Red Copper Dragon’s Strong Acid Breath similarly had a negligible effect; most of it simply slid off the body, inflicting limited damage.

The punches from the Twilight Guardian resounded with loud bangs, and wood splinters scattered everywhere, yet they left no mark on the gray body.

In the end, the Twilight Guardian stopped expending the energy to regenerate wooden spikes and instead formed protrusions of rock and soil, turning into natural tiger claws. These had at least some effect, leaving behind dents that proved their effort was not entirely in vain.
