Chapter 238: Chapter 189: Reunion with the Dragon Girl_2

"Understood," came Shanoba’s voice, not walking over, but slinking.

Not until Gaven made close contact did he notice.

Shanoba’s entire body had turned rosy pink and it radiated with intense heat.

Gaven felt a tickling at the base of his shoulder guard, as if something was about to sprout from there.

"What are you two doing?" The Young Red Copper Dragon, intrigued by the dragon’s roar, had come back.

"I’m checking her out; her wyvern transformation seems to have developed a new change," Gaven replied.

"Really?"

"Really!" Gaven earnestly insisted.

"What’s with the dragon shadows on you both?" That was what the Young Red Copper Dragon was most concerned about.

Their dragon shadows intertwined, like wisps of fog.

They looked distinctively different. The one rising from Shanoba was clearly the wyvern form she transformed into.

The one emanating from Gaven was much more indistinct, just the outline of a Giant Dragon. It was hard to tell which kind of Giant Dragon it was. To Aivensa, it seemed more like her own species, the Red Copper Dragon. The aura it emitted was very appealing to Aivensa, tempting her to rush over and play.

"It’s a blessing from the Dragon Oak Mother Tree," Gaven attributed the phenomenon to the Dragon Oak Mother Tree.

Indeed, his soul and body had forged a close connection with the Giant Dragon, all starting with the first golden Milestone of Destiny, the mysterious link with the Dragon Oak Mother Tree.

"Then, when you’re free, check me out too."

"Fine." Gaven summoned tremendous willpower to deal with the persistent youngster. "Go chase away all those blind cretins trying to come up here; I’ll tell you the rest of the story about the Heavenly Palace when we get back tonight."

"The whole story? Without leaving me hanging halfway through?"

"The whole story. Keep pestering me, and I might change my mind."

"Alright! Alright! Alright!" The Young Red Copper Dragon walked away, singing the common language version of "Monkey Brother," his diverted attention now fully restored.

The initially faint dragon shadows grew denser, enveloping the two completely, obscuring them from the outside.

Shanoba froze like a nimble yet powerful cheetah, uttering an incredulous gasp, "I’ve unlocked my Professional template!"

The timing was somewhat odd.

But the intertwining dragon shadows made it seem somewhat normal.

"What professions can you choose?" Gaven asked.

"Magician... Dragon Vein Sorcerer... warrior... Barbarian," Shanoba responded.

"Barbarian!" Gaven didn’t hesitate. "Your main strength is your wyvern transformation. Selecting your profession should be focused on enhancing that ability. Warriors may gain many additional feats later on, but most of these are for humanoid forms and of little use after transformation. But a Barbarian’s Berserk can be used both before and after transformation."

If these options were presented to a Gnoll, Gaven would have them choose Dragon Vein Sorcerer or Magician without a second thought.

But these seemingly powerful professions seemed lackluster for Shanoba.

Born with thirteen Life Dice, her Experience Value required for unlocking a Professional template was the same as a level thirteen Professional advancing one level.

The Experience Value needed for leveling up was exponentially harder from then on.

Raising her Caster Level beyond Transcendent was as difficult as advancing from Transcendent to Legendary—the increase of each level took years.

A mere two or three Spellcaster levels would be of little help to her.

However, the Barbarian was different; just one Professional Level could significantly enhance her combat abilities.

Special Abilities like Fast Movement would increase her movement speed, including wyvern flight speed—after all, this Special Ability was integrated into her body and would affect her transformed state.

There’s no need to mention Berserk—with a Strength +4, Constitution +4, even in her humanoid form, the improvement was considerable. When transformed into a wyvern, it would take both her Strength and Constitution into the realms of Transcendent, enabling her to use Strong Acid Breath one or two more times per day.

The number of daily Dragon Breath attacks was closely tied to constitution.

Roar!

Shanoba’s action spoke for her choice.

Blood surged, eyes turned crimson, muscles swelled noticeably, as if she had grown somewhat taller.

Shanoba had entered Berserk State.

Gaven instinctively pulled up her Attributes.

Profession: 1st-Level Barbarian

Life Force: 160 (Life Dice: 13D10+1D12+84)

Attributes: Strength 17+4, Dexterity 14, Constitution 14+4, Intelligence 12, Perception 16, Charisma 19

Even in her non-transformed state, her Strength had reached Transcendent.

Gaven started talking business: "Tell me about this heist of the Crimson Feather."

"Everything was arranged by that ruthless Nun Stephanie. Although she’s using me, she keeps a close watch; she doesn’t let me know much, and a lot of what I do know, I’ve overheard.

The Dark Intelligence Net isn’t monolithic; there’s a serious internal power struggle. One faction supports the Bane Church, and Stephanie is part of that faction.

Another faction supports the new God of Conspiracy, Shylock.

The cargo transported by the Crimson Feather was gathered by leader Manson, from Shylock’s faction, to support their reinforcements at the Dark Castle, ensuring his confidant Simmon could secure his hold there."
