Chapter 213: Chapter 174 Spring in the Spring Bud Forest_1

He was still just a juvenile dragon that hadn’t yet reached his final form, with adolescent, young adult, and then adult stages to go through, followed by ancient, venerable, and primordial age segments.

At each age segment, both size and rank are distinct and different from one another.

Giant Dragons had always occupied the apex of the food chain since primordial times, not without reason.

If the Giant Empire had not risen and waged a lengthy war with the Giant Dragons.

If the Ancient Elves had not sacrificed a great number of Supreme Mages to construct the Dragon Madness Lock that intermittently drove the dragons insane with the appearance of the Regicide Star.

I fear this continent would still be void of other species’ affairs, remaining the backyard and hunting ground of the dragons.

But from now on, this juvenile red dragon will become an object in his own possession, his own war tool.

Thinking this way, the sense of accomplishment was indeed full.

On the other hand, Roderick’s reaction greatly disappointed Lord Aivensa, who couldn’t help but smack his lips and say, "Roderick, it’s not very interesting if you act like this. Your wounds are almost fully healed now, shouldn’t you offer some resistance? We are all waiting."

The young red dragon humbly replied, "I have already sincerely pledged myself to Lord Gaven; from now on, Lord Aivensa, you are my master as well. How can I possibly defy my master’s commands?"

"You would obey any command?" Lord Aivensa’s large eyes started to wander, clearly thinking up new mischiefs.

"I will obey any command," Roderick stated with unwavering certainty.

"Alright then, put this on." Aivensa took off the Enlarge Necklace from around his neck and tossed it to the young red dragon.

Roderick had a bad feeling but still honestly placed the Enlarge Necklace around his right claw.

"Cast it now!" The young dragon could not hide the wicked smile on his face.

The young red dragon, left with no choice, had to synchronize with the Enlarge Necklace and cast Enlarge, causing a dragon saddle suitable for his immense body to appear on his back.

Taking advantage of the pain of transformation, Roderick seized the opportunity to let out an angry roar to vent the dissatisfaction in his heart.

The young red copper dragon teased Gaven with a series of exaggerated winks and gestures, "Gaven, what are you waiting for? Get on, sit up there. It already agreed to obey any command. From now on, it’s your new mount."

Due to the pride inherent in giant dragons, Aivensa disliked being ridden, even by Gaven, with whom his relationship was growing ever closer.

Having the young red dragon serve as Gaven’s mount was the most severe humiliation she could think of.

Even without the mischief stirred up by the young red copper dragon, Gaven would have found a way to tame the juvenile red dragon; now he simply took advantage of the situation.

Gaven did not immediately step onto the young red dragon but instead turned to extend an invitation to Virginia, "Together."

Virginia had not expected this move, and after a brief pause, which seemed to suggest she thought of something, she repeatedly shook her head and said, "I’d rather not. You go ahead."

The proximity that would be inevitable for two people sharing one saddle, even an enlarged dragon saddle, was something she currently wanted to avoid at all costs.

"He hasn’t experienced any disadvantage yet, but once we are airborne, who knows if he’ll turn hostile? I need Lord Virginia’s Teleportation Spell," Gaven provided an irrefutable reason to Virginia.

Virginia, though still not fully reconciled with the fact that her memories had been altered to replace a person with Gaven,

was absolutely not willing to allow Gaven to face any danger to his life.

Without agreement, but also without refusal,

Gaven took it as tacit consent, directly embraced Virginia’s waist, and performed a Fairy Step to leap onto the back of the now even larger juvenile red dragon.

It was clearly perceivable that upon their arrival,

Roderick involuntarily shuddered, causing his dragon scales to scrape together with a grating sound.

Your greatest enemy always understands you best.

How proud was the young red dragon? How disdainful of others?

Previously in the Rocklands, only Aivensa, this little runt, dared to provoke and nag him.

Wherever his shadow flew, the birds and beasts scattered in terror, lest they be eaten or become the latest roast in a Flame Dragon’s Breath.

Who could have predicted that one day, he would become a mount, becoming the mount of those bipedal sheep he previously had no respect for?

It was nothing.

There was really nothing to it.

The humiliation of today would be avenged one day, but not now.

Just consider it carrying a stone on one’s back.

There was truly nothing to it.

Roderick, in his mind, frantically reassured himself, recalling the oppressive darkness at the bottom of the mountain that seemed endless.

With this thought, his mindset became much more peaceful; compared to those rocks, the weight of two people was much lighter.

The Enlarge Necklace, a Magic Item, when activated, created a saddle tailored to the creature’s own specifications.

On a horse, it would manifest as a horse saddle.

On a dragon, it would be a dragon saddle.

When Aivensa used it, his body changed from medium to large size and conjured a saddle suitable for a human of medium build to ride.

The juvenile red dragon went from large to colossal, and the resulting saddle was large enough for a half-ogre to ride.

Now, with Gaven and Virginia both riding, it was just the right fit.

Gaven didn’t give Virginia a chance to choose, directly assisting her slender waist to sit in front of him.

"Wait for me, wait for me," Aivensa, always eager for excitement, strutted up to the juvenile Red Dragon, kicked his forepaw, and haughtily declared, "Take me up, I want to ride too."

Hiss!

The ground was forcefully gouged with deep pits by the juvenile Red Dragon.

Clearly, his heart had reached the height of loathing.

Being ridden was one thing, but now, to be ridden by another dragon, a Red Copper Dragon, no less.

This was something no dragon could bear; wasn’t this just bullying a dragon?

If word of this spread, he’d never be able to mingle in the dragon realm again.

That said, given the current state of things, if word spread, he’d lose face altogether, dignity and all.

Endure one breath, and you endure the next; today, I have reached my limit of endurance. From now on, I shall be the Enduring Dragon. Just watch what you can do to me.

The juvenile Red Dragon slowly lifted his claw and, instead of striking Aivensa’s petite body, he tenderly hoisted her onto his dragon back.

"So obedient." Aivensa nodded in satisfaction, hopped and skipped to the front of the two, and promptly sat down on Virginia’s lap.

Feeling the space a bit cramped, she pushed her little buttocks forcefully, shoving Virginia back several centimeters.

Even in her diminutive form, Aivensa was still essentially a Giant Dragon with strength to show for it, not reliant on any external force. Purely based on innate attributes, Gaven might not even match her.

The distance Virginia and Gaven had strived to maintain was obliterated by Aivensa in an instant, landing her squarely in his embrace.

Virginia froze completely.

Although she had grown closer to Gaven recently, even engaging in some light touch, that was all within the realm of the mind.

In reality, for the most part, their interaction was limited to holding hands, mainly for the sake of work.

This kind of full-contact experience was a first for her; the last time at Spring Bud Fortress didn’t count as it was inadvertent.

Instinctively, Virginia wanted to flee, but that would seem too guilty, and she hesitated.

Soon, she paid the price for her hesitation.

Sitting behind her was a fiery tempered juvenile, and as it was late spring, early summer, their clothing was neither thick nor thin.

As the juvenile Red Dragon, under Aivensa’s direction, took flight, with fluttering wings, the constant friction soon made Virginia feel as if she was not sitting on a dragon saddle. The warmth rising from beneath enveloped her, scorching her brain to the point it ceased to function, unable to even muster the incantation for a teleportation spell, let alone flee.

She vaguely heard Gaven issuing an order not to go to the Rocklands, but to the Spring Bud Forest.

For Gaven, this test flight was intoxicating, yet torturous all the same.

Never mind the presence of the lightbulb-like Aivensa; even without her, it would be impossible to have relations there—after all, the juvenile Red Dragon was also a sentient being.

All he could do was to hold Virginia tightly, acting the unbefitting role of a gentleman. Some reactions are beyond control, not even for a Psychic Sorcerer—at least not at this level.

The one having the most fun was the carefree Aivensa.

She was utterly oblivious to the awkwardness between Virginia and Gaven, one moment squeezing onto the dragon saddle, the next unable to resist transforming into her true form, swirling around the juvenile Red Dragon in a flurry.

Her chatty Red Copper Dragon nature was on full display.

In short, it was all nonsense talk, as if she wouldn’t rest until she had irritated the juvenile Red Dragon to the breaking point.

Yet the juvenile Red Dragon, after months of repression and life-and-death epiphanies, was as unmoved as an enlightened monk.

Displaying the demeanor of a loyal servant, no matter the torment, he would not get angry or attack. Just what could they do to him?

Especially when this attitude infuriated Aivensa to the point of scratching her head and hopping mad.

Roderick actually felt a strange sense of achievement and pleasure.

If Gaven knew, he would undoubtedly exclaim that the child was becoming masochistic.

After landing, Gaven escorted Virginia directly into her boudoir.

That night, spring came once again to the Spring Bud Forest.

Flowers bloomed, and all living things revived.

All creatures entered into an extension of life.

Such a spring had not visited the Spring Bud Forest for many years.

Many of the wise beings in the Fairy Wilderness knew what it meant, especially the Yaling of Spring Bud Fortress.

So, when Gaven walked through Spring Bud Castle again, he always felt that the Yaling looked at him somewhat strangely.

As for Virginia, she locked herself directly in her room, not planning on seeing anyone for a short while.

What Gaven didn’t expect was that the Fairy Wilderness pact he had signed with Lord Virginia before had evolved unexpectedly.

It had become a Supreme Fairy Wilderness Pact.

You have formed a Supreme Pact with Fairy Wilderness Lord Virginia. From this moment on, the Fairy Wilderness is your closest friend. You have been bathed and infused in the power of the Fairy Wilderness. Fairy strength flows within you. From now on, you may be regarded as a member of the Yaling Clan, with a slight extension to your lifespan.

You can move freely in natural woodland. If you are in dense forest, your recovery speed from injuries will double.

All benevolent members of the Fae Race will innately favor you, and you gain free use of the Fairy Step.

All malevolent members of the Fae Race will regard you as an enemy and harbor intense animosity towards you.

Having read the pact, Gaven couldn’t help but let out a meaningful, tsk.
