Chapter 1370: Chapter 723: Cross-Plane Strike_2

Compared to the Half-Moon Colt specialized in this aspect, Shanoba still has some distance to cover, but her speed is quite remarkable compared to most flying creatures.

Before the arrows and spears could get close, she had already flown a long distance away.

Even skilled archers found that the strong airflow stirred up by her wings diverted their arrows and spears before they could get close. The few that did land were limp and powerless, unable to exert any killing force.

Colossus City is located on the outskirts of the Troll Mountain Region, surrounded by only a few small hills. Shanoba merely uses this place as a resource base for Gnolls without having extra energy to develop it.

The area is still in its original state, a paradise for monsters. Everywhere one can see Hobgoblin camps, Goblin burrows, Troll stinking nests, and groups of Orcs gathering prey.

Shadows of fierce battles for a bit of resources and food were seen everywhere.

Once the Hobgoblin resources on the Giant Plains are exhausted, those in Blood Gorge City can shift their battles here.

Compared to those perilous mountain ranges, the terrain here is not high, forming a vast expanse of mountains, making it easier to hide filth because these mountains also produce a large amount of natural resources that can sustain more lives.

Boom! Crack!

Thunderous lightning struck down rhythmically from the sky, heavily hitting a nearby mountain top, visible and audible even from a distance.

"What is that?" Gaven asked curiously.

"There’s an abandoned Temple of Talos, the Storm God there. Although there’s no priest presiding, it is constantly lashed by thunder day and night," Shanoba replied. "It’s considered a landmark building in the Troll Mountain Region, located at its very core."

"Let’s go and take a look," Gaven showed great interest.

The existence of a temple dedicated to a god known for destruction among the towering mountains suggests some mystery here.

Talos, the Storm God, also known as the Destroyer, King of Storms, governs storms, destruction, riots, fires, earthquakes, whirlwinds, and a series of furious natural divine positions.

He is the Main God of the Fury God Lineage, leading the Gods of Fury—Winter Goddess Olyure, the God of Hunting Magla, and Ocean Goddess Amboli.

He is a difficult god to please; many of his followers worship him not out of affection but fear, attempting to soothe him with their faith to bring as little destruction and disaster as possible. However, his nature is unpredictable, and even he likely doesn’t know what he’ll do in the next moment, let alone his followers.

But if you dare to defy him, he will certainly erupt in thunderous fury, bringing you endless retribution and destruction, earning him a reputation for vindictiveness.

He exemplifies a concept god; although his followers are few, since his inception, he has possessed Strong Divine Power; throughout the entire history of True Gods in Felen, his Strength has never weakened; instead, it continually grows—he was born from the first battle between the twin goddesses, Moon Goddess Suren and Night Goddess Shar.

Don’t overlook Moon Goddess; she now only has Intermediate Divine Power; she is the undeniable creator goddess of the Toril Plane. Everything here is closely related to her; even if split into countless divine positions, she still possesses the Strength most True Gods admire.

Most importantly, she has countless allies, even the berserk Talos has to retreat half a step and offer his respect before her. The only open enemy opposing her is her twin sister, Night Goddess Shar.

Talos, the Storm God, and the Gods of Fury he leads will be least compatible with the series of divine positions such as path construction along Gaven’s advancing path. As he pushes forward, his interactions with these True Gods will increase, in an unfriendly manner.

Indeed.

Upon seeing the terrain of the mountain where the Temple of Talos is located, Gaven showed an expression of ’Just as I thought.’

Is that really a temple?

It’s simply a lightning-attracting iron tower, constructed inside and out of steel.

No, to be more precise, it looks as if it has grown directly from the mountain.

Due to constant lightning strikes over years, the impurities such as soil and rocks around the temple have been shattered and blown away, revealing the blue-gray solid rock underneath, which is iron ore—a high-purity open-pit ore vein. The entire mountain top is likely in such a condition.

If they bury a large amount of Tremor Bombs here, their Gnolls could immediately mine countless iron ores.

After a glance at the surrounding terrain, Gaven asked, "How far are the Flying Dragons’ nests from here?"

"About a dozen kilometers away," Shanoba recalled briefly and replied.

"Then we’ll choose the battlefield here. I’ll go set up the battleground, and you’ll be responsible for drawing those Flying Dragons directly over the mountain top. The more Flying Dragons you attract at once, the denser the better, for my concentrated fire," Gaven spread his Dragon Wings and glided toward the iron mountain where the Temple of Talos was located.

This mountain has a flat top with a vast head area, perfect for executing his cross-planar strikes.

"Lord, just wait and see," having understood Gaven’s complete plan, Shanoba was thrilled and flew at high speed toward the distance without hesitation.

If Gaven’s tactics succeed, they could generalize this trick to wild Flying Dragons, forming a Flying Dragon Air Force, for which she naturally would become the Commander without dispute.
