Chapter 1108: Chapter 636: Stealing Faith?!
Indeed, the southern part of Rocklands does have the Red Valley Reclamation Area, but it has not fallen under Gaven’s control yet. Even if it does, it’s not the best choice because it belongs to the Komeer Kingdom. Even if it’s entrusted to oneself, one still needs to pay taxes to the Kingdom, while the Goblin Margins is one’s own pioneering venture, free from the tax duties to Komeer Kingdom.
The third strategic objective is the Giant Dragon Coast. This place is neither too close nor too far from the Giant Dragon Coast, but with the subsequent road reconstructions, it becomes possible to reach Posku City within two days.
At that time, it will not be Posku blocking their southern path, but rather, it will find itself sandwiched between the Bridge of Human God and Efanso City. As long as the rulers of Posku City are wise, they will gradually diverge from the other cities of the Giant Dragon Coast and join Gaven’s side, especially since the Allied Army of the Giant Dragon Coast cannot possibly be stationed permanently in Posku City.
The entire Conqueror Path will be thoroughly connected, and Gaven’s influence will continuously spread to the surroundings through this path, exerting a control even beyond a single country, maximizing the potential of this route.
At this moment, the faith in Lady Strategy within the Conqueror Army has reached an extreme peak. Gaven, being both the Chosen and the supreme Commander, naturally reached the zenith of earthly prestige. At least those Tesser Immigrants who have followed him all the way from Darama are staunch believers. The immigrants from the Giant Dragon Coast are a bit less devout, but they still hold a respectful attitude, something that was created entirely by Gaven’s own hands, without the need for the Magic Effect of the Road of Destiny.
What is the concept of staunch belief?
It means executing his orders unconditionally, without thought, even if Gaven asks them to leap from the Bridge of Human God, they would not hesitate because they firmly believe that Gaven has his reasons, even if it means death.
If Gaven were a deity, they would become his first batch of fanatics.
Now, Gaven simply asks them to pray to the yet undeparted Goddess of Strategy. There could not possibly be any hesitation. Under the leadership of exclusive Sacrificers to the Lady Strategy, everyone begins to chant the three core tenets of the Goddess of Strategy’s ascension.
The first recitation was a bit uneven, but by the second and third times, thirty to forty thousand voices merged into one voice, shaking the heavens and the earth.
A force nearly tangible converged right above the Bridge of Human God, but did not head towards the Goddess of Strategy, instead, it was drawn to Gaven and the Strategic Plunderer in his hand, continuously funneling into the designated land through the Chosen Ability.
What does it mean to be the Chosen? What is the Chosen Ability?
It means being an earthly spokesperson chosen by the Deity, replacing them in gathering believers and exercising some earthly powers.
And the Chosen Ability is a weakened version of Divine Ability, not unsubstantiated but relying on the divine power supplied by the All Gods. Hence, even though the All Gods have the massive capability to create Chosen, they do not do so frequently, as it would significantly consume their Divine Power.
The Divine Power of the Gods comes from the believers’ faith. In essence, the Chosen Ability is powered by faith.
Gaven’s situation is now drawing faith directly, skipping the Goddess of Strategy altogether. It’s a typical case of no middleman, no markup.
It sounds wonderful, but it’s incredibly difficult to achieve.
Unless those praying regard and serve you as a deity, standing shoulder to shoulder with that deity, and you possess the capacity to store faith.
Gaven satisfies these conditions; he lacks the ability to store faith himself, but the War Ravager does, containing not only Divine Nature Spark but also the recently injected Planning Plunder Divine Nature by the Goddess of Strategy. It can draw souls, let alone faith.
Facing this situation, the soon-to-disappear Goddess of Strategy and her God Kingdom visibly stalled, almost gaping in astonishment.
With Gaven, there is no middleman, no markup, but where does that position her among the Deities?
For the Gods, this is a most grievous sin—theft of faith.
Faced with this situation, the first response of the Gods is to send down divine punishment, to strike him down first and foremost.
But when done sneakily, it’s called theft of faith. How can it still be called theft when done openly in the face of the aggrieved?
Also, this Chosen of mine is far too unique. Throughout all of Felen, aside from myself, there is probably no one who deals and trades with their own Chosen.
The issue is, my reliance on this Chosen is far greater than this Chosen’s reliance on me. The Goddess of Strategy, adept in the arts of scheming, deeply knows that her victory in this Divine War against the Plunderer Kallargos isn’t solely based on her strength but is closely linked to the battle preparations of the Conqueror Army.
If not for the Conqueror Army steadfastly standing by her side under Gaven’s leadership, reversing the situation, had Plunderer Kallargos received the support of the Conqueror Army and she leading the Monster Army, no matter how skilled she was in strategy, planning, or tactics, she would have ended up defeated, and instead, Plunderer Kallargos would seize a part of her Planning Plunder Divine Position.
Gods and their Divine Positions are simply more specialized, deeper representations in this regard. Not believing in her does not mean completely lacking plans, strategy, or tactics, it’s just a matter of how well one matches in nature.
