Chapter 1070: Chapter 623: The Almighty Holy Strategist_2
Gathering the Red Falcon Knights as a corps was absolutely an underutilization of resources. They should have been combined with special forces like Golia and the Treants just as they had done before, compensating for their weaknesses and fully harnessing their combat power in the correct method of deployment.
A Magic Aura belonging to teleportation flickered above the Lizard Queen’s head. Gaven clenched his Fine Gold Hammer and asked, "Chief Strategist Veranika, is that you?"
He had just dispatched his own chief strategist to request reinforcements, but he had to guard against the possibility that this was an enemy’s teleportation strike, although from the beginning to the end, the Blood Plunderers had not shown this capability.
After all, the Blood Plunderers here were not the real exclusive sacrificers of Plunderer Kallargos; forcibly catalyzed by Divine Power, they were merely semblances with only partial abilities, having not yet acquired the casting abilities akin to those of Priest.
Divine Power could bring forth imperfections, but it could not create a genuine masterpiece; that was a regulation of the Multiverse Law. The case of the Blood Plunderers and the previous encounter next to Yewen Pond with a Corpse Spider Elf manifested this condition—a being that evolved into that level of Life Dice would be far more formidable.
"It’s me," Veranika’s crisp and tender voice replied.
When the teleportation light dissipated, standing atop the Lizard Queen was not only Veranika but also a uniquely designed Treant. Its stature was not tall, its body exuded a metallic luster, and soft thunder coursed over its surface. With such a unique form, this Treant could only be Thunderwood, who was stationed at Mesnoel Ruler’s Tower.
Additionally, Thunderwood was accompanied by three Transcendent Pikespirit Druids. Not only had Veranika returned from Mesnoel, but she had also visited Nanklept Garden Manor previously.
"Good," Gaven could not help but smile and said, "first summon the Thunderstorm Charge, then follow my commands."
After witnessing the unique lethality of the Thunderstrike Magic against the Blood Plunderers, his first thought was of Thunderwood. This individual’s Thunderstrike Main Cannon was nearly monstrously powerful. Coupled with the Blood Plunderers’ own susceptibility, he was somewhat excited. Once a shot hit the body of the Plunderer’s Chosen, what marvelous scene would unfold?
"By the way, there’s this," Veranika handed a thick volume to Gaven, "Lord Zalanda was tied up with urgent matters and couldn’t get away, so he asked me to bring this to you."
Gaven was more than familiar with the book, as it was none other than the Divine Artifact of the War Path that he had created by himself.
"Isn’t this supposed to be an exclusive artifact of Zalanda’s? Even if it’s brought here, it’s useless... huh?" Gaven took the Divine Artifact of the War Path and suddenly felt it was different than before. He could distinctly feel a close connection between himself and the book, while countless golden texts flowed from it, intertwining with the Divine Power of the Goddess of Strategy’s Chosen within him, merging together.
The words immersed themselves directly into Gaven’s Soul Consciousness, enticing every bit of information recorded on the Divine Artifact of the War Path, breezing through the original text, the translation, and Lady Strategy’s annotations in just a flash, deriving countless new insights and understandings.
Then a small line of text swept past Gaven, "You have read and comprehended the essence of the military treatise of the Path of War; your Intelligence permanently increases by two points."
This was an undeniable pleasant surprise. Gaven would borrow the Divine Artifact of the War Path to study whenever he could, but he truly had little leisure time, always switching from one task to another without a clear conception of accumulated time. Unexpectedly, because of his identity as the Chosen of Lady Strategy, a complete resonance occurred, allowing his Intelligence to build up further—a crucial Intrinsic Attribute that no one would find excessive, especially since Intelligence was his core attribute.
This Attribute’s advantages extended far beyond what one might imagine, particularly after surpassing Transcendence; the related aspects it involved were all-encompassing—memory, learning ability, logical thinking, etc., all were significantly enhanced. This was something one could never understand until reaching this stage, just as ordinary people cannot comprehend how geniuses easily solve complex astronomical equations. Spell Formulas are a hundred times more complicated than such mathematical problems, and due to this, High-level Spells have basic Casting Attributes requirements. To cast a Fifth Circle spell, one must possess at least fifteen points in Intelligence, Sixteenth for the Sixth, and so forth.
For Legendary Spells, without twenty points in Intelligence, you don’t even meet the minimum threshold to learn them.
Moreover, this scenario is not unique to Mages; other Spellcasters have their lowest Casting Attribute requirements as well, but the prerequisite attributes vary by Profession and the principle of the Casting method. For example, Priests and Druids need Perception because they harness the power of both deity and nature in their spells, understandably necessitating strong Perception to attune and perform spells synchronously. Magicians require Charisma as it encompasses their personal innate power, with themselves serving as the spellcasting conduit.
In summary, improvements in the Three Intrinsic Attributes—Intelligence, Perception, and Charisma—offer only benefits, with no drawbacks. Now, Gaven values the enhancement of these three attributes far above the physical ones, as his expertise as a Shapeshifter principally involves controlling the physique. He could mimic traits of other races through altering his form, but these three intrinsic attributes are not mimicable. They are inherently possessed, as they represent the strength of one’s own soul consciousness, the core foundation of a person."
