Chapter 320: Chapter 311: Entering Shopping Mode

After a good meal and drink, Han Qiwu glanced at the time.

08:11

There was still more than an hour before Mr. Tang would arrive.

Plenty of time.

Time to go!

Little Merchant, here I come.

With his straw hat on, Han Qiwu hopped onto his electric moped and headed toward the Little Merchant’s location.

Of course, before setting out, he made sure to bring some wild yam and kudzu roots along.

Can’t let the little pig eat the same thing all the time.

It’s good to mix things up.

You never know, it might even unlock a hidden menu.

Feeding the little pig is never a loss.

When he reached the small grove, Han Qiwu saw the Little Merchant already waiting leisurely at the edge of the woods. He was idly gazing in Han Qiwu’s direction, with the little pig next to him swishing its tail and looking equally relaxed.

"Here I come." Han Qiwu rode up, greeting him cheerfully with a smile.

The Little Merchant smiled back, "You seem in high spirits. Got plenty of money on you today? In that case, I’ll bring out some good stuff."

"Sure, you can never have too much good stuff. Here, try a strawberry." Han Qiwu grinned and pulled out a freshly washed, big strawberry to hand over.

The Little Merchant shook his head and declined, "I’ve already had one. You go ahead and see if there’s anything you want first."

He was well aware of the strawberry’s value just by looking at its quality.

If he ate it, he wouldn’t be able to negotiate prices as confidently later.

Not a chance he was eating it.

Seeing the Little Merchant’s reaction, Han Qiwu smiled knowingly.

Oh, you think you can just say no?

"Catch!" Han Qiwu shouted toward the nearby little pig with lightning speed.

The little pig, which had been eyeing the strawberry all along, instantly opened its mouth wide.

"Nooo!"

The Little Merchant quickly circled around his cart, trying to prevent the disaster from happening.

"Don’t be so reserved!" Han Qiwu laughed, flicked his wrist, and sent the strawberry straight into the little pig’s mouth.

*Crunch, crunch.*

Dressed in its green gauze outfit, the little pig chomped a couple of times, swayed its head contentedly, entirely ignoring its owner’s scolding from the side.

The strawberry was simply delicious.

"What did I tell you before we came here? Didn’t we agree not to open your mouth? If you’re hungry, just let me know—I’ve got food for you!" The Little Merchant said, both frustrated and helpless. He turned back to the cart and pulled out a bunch of asparagus to hand to the little pig.

The little pig made no attempt to be polite and wolfed down the asparagus in an instant.

After finishing, it kept throwing meaningful glances at Han Qiwu, practically screaming for more.

The Little Merchant: "....."

Helplessly, he directly stood in front of the pig’s mouth.

Seeing this, Han Qiwu’s eyes lit up.

Asparagus?

Now that’s a good find.

Asparagus, the tender shoots of a perennial herb from the asparagus genus in the Asparagaceae family, is soft in texture and delicious in flavor. Perfect for making clear asparagus soup or other dishes.

Interestingly, regardless of the type, once asparagus is exposed to sunlight after emerging from the soil, it becomes green asparagus. If it grows in a shaded area, it remains a pale white.

"Little Merchant, do you sell asparagus seeds?" Han Qiwu went straight to the point, knowing April and May were the best times to plant asparagus. Though it was still a bit early, the climate was already about right.

"They’re not on this inventory list, but are you looking to buy some?" The Little Merchant asked as he simultaneously restrained his little pig and pulled out an inventory sheet.

"Definitely. Can you add them? We’re old friends, after all." Han Qiwu smiled and waved the wild yam and kudzu roots in his hand. "Or how about I toss in a little more of these?"

"No, no need for that." The Little Merchant shook his head. "How about this: I’ll add asparagus seeds to the list, but for the next three trading sessions, you’re absolutely forbidden from feeding my pig. It’s getting way too fat already—I normally don’t let it eat so many carbs."

"Deal." Han Qiwu agreed immediately, not even bothering to haggle.

It wasn’t like his life revolved around feeding a pig.

Feeding the pig was just a means to an end.

Still, to save the pig from disappointment, Han Qiwu turned to it after taking the inventory sheet and said, "Little Pig, you heard him. It’s not that I don’t want to feed you delicious treats; it’s your owner who won’t let me. Hang in there; I’ll feed you again next month."

"Oink oink." The little pig nodded sadly, looking genuinely heartbroken.

The Little Merchant: "......Look through it, quickly!"

"Got it." Han Qiwu chuckled and began examining the inventory sheet.

[Hidden Inventory List Unlocked: No]

After reading the entire inventory, Han Qiwu grinned.

It’s so nice to have money.

Seeing an item priced at 30,000 gold and still being able to afford it felt amazing.

Miniature Inexhaustible Forest?

Trees replenished daily?

That sounded pretty interesting.

Buy it!

Dragon’s Essence?

Buy it!

Asparagus Seeds?

Buy them!

Flying Fish Fry?

Keep buying!

I heard these make incredible sashimi—it’s beautifully translucent blue and perfect for displaying or eating.

As for the Rose Seeds, they reminded Han Qiwu of the ten packs he’d previously bought.

It had been February then, so he hadn’t had the chance to plant them yet; they were still sitting in a box somewhere.

Buy them! I’ll plant the new ones along with the old ones when I get home!

Roses, hehehe.

The total cost came out to exactly 40,000 gold if he purchased everything.

But Han Qiwu only had 36,497 gold on him at the moment.

Not a problem.

Time to hit up Furunde.

We’re friends, after all.

"Hey, buddy, how much of a discount can you give me if I buy everything today?" Han Qiwu asked with the inventory in hand. Since he’d already agreed not to feed the pig, he knew he couldn’t unlock the hidden inventory this time around.

He decided this haul would suffice for now.

As for the wood he had initially planned to buy, the Inexhaustible Forest made that unnecessary for the time being.

Besides, wood was kind of pricey—40 gold each meant 100 pieces cost 4,000 gold. It wasn’t even as efficient as the Little Prince chopping wood all day!

With 4,000 gold, he could just get the Little Prince some honey instead—now, wouldn’t that be more satisfying?

The Little Merchant thought it over. "How about 15% off? These are valuable items."

"Alright, since you’ve said it, I won’t haggle," Han Qiwu said straightforwardly, spending 34,000 gold to buy all the weekly refresh items from the Little Merchant.

This left him with just 2,497 gold on hand.

Time to start saving up again!

After handing the items over to Han Qiwu, the Little Merchant happily hummed a tune, herding his little pig as they leisurely disappeared into the woods.
