Chapter 311: Chapter 302: Explosive Snowball Blueprint

"Exploding snowballs are truly a treasure; I need to find an opportunity to get more of them." Han Qiwu muttered to himself as he walked toward the area where the ice bird and the unidentified creature had been fighting, preparing to pick up the loot.

But as soon as he arrived, he was stunned.

"I just hit the jackpot!!!"

Before his eyes, at least eighty or ninety chunks of jade and thirty to forty pieces of iron ore were scattered all over the ground!

"Could it be that the creature I blasted earlier was a Jade Sprite?" Han Qiwu thought, quickly gathering the jade scattered on the ground.

Although exploding snowballs have the ability to blast open a 5×5 radius of mining nodes, typically they wouldn’t yield this much jade.

"Looks like I won’t need to worry about jade for a long time." Han Qiwu exhaled deeply. These jade pieces were highly valuable, but he didn’t plan to sell them for money. Instead, he intended to keep them and forge a mayonnaise machine for egg transformation purposes.

After collecting the minerals, Han Qiwu enthusiastically went to pick up the ice bird loot.

[Ice Bird Statue Fragment IV]

[Snow Fruit Remnants]

[Ice Fruit]

"Another Snow Fruit Remnant?" Han Qiwu chuckled, glancing at its properties.

[Snow Fruit Remnants]

[Use: Fertilizer/Material]

[Usage Instructions: Place it on Snow Fruit or Ice Fruit trees to boost yield]

[Note: If you have a seed production machine, you might be able to grow a Snow Fruit tree]

It was quite similar to Ice Fruit Remnants. It seemed that the primary food of ice birds was Ice Fruit and Snow Fruit.

As for Ice Bird Statue Fragment IV, its shape resembled the head of the ice bird.

Since battling ice birds always involved tense situations, this was Han Qiwu’s first time getting such a close, detailed look at the head of an ice bird.

The ice bird’s head had a slight resemblance to a peacock’s, but with some upward-curving, snowy feathers on top. Its icy eyes looked particularly spirited, and no matter which angle you viewed it from, you could sense a hint of elegance.

"This thing might actually help cool down the house if I place it there, huh?" Han Qiwu touched the fragment, feeling a chill run through his fingers.

Fragment IV’s properties were almost identical to Fragment II.

The only change was in the hint message.

When both fragments were brought out, a line of text appeared before Han Qiwu:

[An enticing force is emanating from the center of the seventy-seventh level of the mine.]

The location hint was more precise than before.

This time, getting Fragment IV so quickly was purely because of Han Qiwu’s good luck—he ran straight into an ice bird carrying the fragment.

After collecting his loot, Han Qiwu, in high spirits, turned to his companion, Little Spark, and instructed, "Find an opportunity to lure some snowballs over; the more the better. Just make sure they don’t die on the way, or I won’t be able to pick up the drops."

Little Spark, instead of flying off immediately, pretended to act weak, giving Han Qiwu a pitiful look.

After staring at his unresponsive master for a while, Little Spark unleashed an aggrieved howl from the depths of its soul.

"Hungry~"

Han Qiwu couldn’t hold back his laughter.

Looking at Little Spark’s expression, he took out a Thunderfish and tossed it over.

"You did well today. Go ahead, enjoy."

Little Spark caught the Thunderfish with a graceful twist and began eating contentedly.

Watching Little Spark eat, Xiao Lai tried to mimic it. Puffing out its cheeks, it attempted to cry out "Hungry."

"Pff-pff."

After a few failed attempts, all Xiao Lai managed to produce were soft puffing sounds.

"You did well too—go ahead, eat."

Considering the excellent haul today, Han Qiwu took out a chunk of jade and handed it to Xiao Lai as a treat.

As soon as Xiao Lai laid eyes on the jade, its tiny bean-like eyes lit up instantly. It hopped onto the jade and began savoring it with loud crunches.

The chewing sounds were oddly appetite-inducing.

"Is this thing really that delicious?" Han Qiwu glanced at Xiao Lai hesitantly. Shaking his head, he moved toward the nearby tunnel, found a patch of iron ore, and began chiseling away with his pickaxe.

After just over ten minutes, Han Qiwu heard a rumbling sound echo from the depths of the mine.

"Whoa, how many snowballs did that fellow attract?"

Without hesitation, Han Qiwu grabbed an exploding snowball and loaded it onto his Ice Slingshot, focusing intently on the passageway ahead.

A few seconds later, Little Spark, full of excitement, flew over.

"It’s so much easier to lure these chubby snowballs that can’t fly! Those damn ice birds, if they can’t outfly me, they spit at me instead!"

As proof of its snowball-luring prowess, Little Spark had brought over nearly all the snowballs on this level.

A rough count revealed sixty to seventy snowballs.

Large clusters of snowballs rolled together onto the icy ground, squeezing themselves into a dense group.

There were so many snowballs jammed together that some climbed atop others.

In the chaos, several snowballs ended up in positions where they could attack Little Spark.

Fortunately, its flying skills were sharp enough to dodge all the incoming attacks.

Things were getting urgent.

Han Qiwu glanced at the snowy passage still brimming with snowballs and decided not to wait any longer. He tilted his head back and shouted to Little Spark, "Hit them with a massive voltage! Once you’ve zapped them, get out of there!"

Little Spark, already itching to strike, stopped mid-air, anger flashing across its face.

"If Master hadn’t told me to wait, I would’ve zapped all these idiotic blobby snowballs long ago!"

"Die already!"

A golden current expanded from Little Spark at the center of its orbit, forming an electric sphere three meters wide.

Two seconds later, the sphere burst like a popped bubble, unleashing intense high-voltage electricity onto the snowballs around it without mercy.

"Sizzle sizzle!"

The body of each snowball twitched violently, releasing streams of thick slime.

"Splurt splurt!"

Exhausted, Little Spark flew back to Han Qiwu’s side, visibly refreshed and satisfied.

Han Qiwu surveyed the battlefield and lobbed an exploding snowball toward the cluster of surviving snowballs.

"Boom boom boom!"

A dozen seconds later, Han Qiwu peeked at the results.

On the massive battlefield, only a dozen badly injured snowballs remained.

"These snowballs are way easier to handle compared to ice birds." Han Qiwu chuckled, finishing them off with his ice club.

Looking at the glowing loot scattered across the ground, Han Qiwu felt a mix of joy and pain.

My poor back.

No time to complain—better get to work.

Five minutes later, Han Qiwu sat by the fire barrel, munching on an Ice Fruit while inspecting the loot.

[Exploding Snowball]×15

[Snowball Slime]×35

[Snowball Egg]×3

[Exploding Snowball Blueprint]×1

What a haul!

Fifteen exploding snowballs were just enough to replenish Han Qiwu’s ammunition stockpile.

The thirty-five snowball slimes would be perfect for feeding the little snowballs back home.

As for the three snowball eggs, Han Qiwu thought for a moment.

Looks like they’ll have to be named Little Snow, Littler Snow, and Littlest Snow.

If only I had named the first one "One Snow" from the start.

Numeric naming is the way to go.
