Chapter 505: Chapter 506: What a Big Audacity_1 Chapter 505: Chapter 506: What a Big Audacity_1 The servant knew that his master didn’t like flattery, preferring instead for the servants to do solid work, so when confronted with Muniang’s request, he didn’t say much and promptly responded, “Yes, Lady, please go straight upstairs to the same room as before; we’ve kept it vacant especially for you!”
Muniang nodded her head and then, lifting her skirt, proceeded upstairs. Walking along the lengthy corridor, she arrived at the most secluded private room, which was also the most convenient for observing the reactions of all the guests in Mei Garden.
However, just as she was about to push the door open, she was unexpectedly yanked out by a servant. Muniang was startled and quickly steadied herself, looking up to see who it was.
The servant, far from feeling guilty, stood up straight with a self-righteous posture, “This room has been chosen by our young master, don’t be ignorant, roll aside!”
Muniang let out a “huh” in anger, half to death, and glared, “What kind of dog servant are you? How dare you point fingers in front of me, are you tired of living?!”
This servant’s attire was not that of Mei Garden. Since Mei Garden was a place of business, Muniang had specially assigned a uniform set of clothes for the runners and maids in the establishment, making it obvious that this servant did not belong here.
Mei Garden couldn’t raise such an ignorant servant!
Caught off guard by Muniang’s fierce words, the servant was momentarily shaken, a sense of unease inexplicably growing within him, but he quickly steadied himself. He had chosen to bully this woman because he was certain she was not a powerful figure of Qinghua City; he had spent his life in grand households and possessed the discerning eye that came with the territory.
Though the woman was dressed decently, he recognized all the powerful and influential figures in Qinghua City, and this stranger was likely just a lady from a moderately wealthy household, or perhaps even a concubine, unable to stir any significant trouble.
The servant also showed a belligerent and threatening face, “Lady, you’d best recognize your place. The one who wants your spot is the young master of the Rong Family. Don’t be ungrateful for the kindness shown to you, otherwise you’ll find the Rong Family won’t let you stand a foot in Qinghua City!”
Qingya couldn’t stand it any longer and sharply rebuked, “Get lost! It’s not your place to dictate where our Lady sits. If you keep spouting nonsense, watch your tongue!”
The servant sneered and gestured lightly, prompting three or five men to appear immediately behind him, rolling up their sleeves and heading their way, clearly intent on getting physical with Muniang.
Muniang scoffed. It was rare for her to go out, and yet she encountered these shameless ruffians looking for a beating!
Qingya expressed concern, “Lady, what shall we do?”
Muniang snorted, “It’ll be good practice.”
The servant held his head high in arrogance, “If you know what’s good for you, I won’t make things difficult. Just leave quickly, otherwise, given the Rong Family’s status in Qinghua City, even if you were to go to the capital to complain to the emperor, you wouldn’t be able to cause any trouble!”
But as soon as the servant’s words fell, Muniang kicked out, sending the servant flying several meters away. The men behind him hadn’t even reacted when Muniang swiftly made her move, promptly bringing down this group of good-for-nothing men, who now lay on the ground wailing in pain.
Muniang dusted off her hands and then said indifferently, “Complaining to the emperor is too troublesome; it’s more satisfying to just take action.”
The commotion here escalated quickly, drawing everyone from upstairs and downstairs in Mei Garden. Their necks craned to look this way, terrified by the display of Qiao Muniang’s martial prowess—such a fierce woman was truly a rarity.
The servant who initially provoked Muniang lay half-dead from her kick. He’d been preparing to have his men teach her a lesson as revenge, but who would have thought that she would take them down in a few moves? He was instantly petrified.
Muniang walked over with light steps, approaching the servant, who began to tremble immediately upon seeing her, a chilling fear rising in his heart.
“If you want to take my spot, at least have some convincing skills,” Muniang sneered. “To be taken down so easily, do you even have the shame to call yourself a man? You’re truly nothing more than a servant.”
The servant couldn’t bear the insult and began cursing at Muniang, pointing at her nose, “You ungrateful woman, how dare you hit me so hard! Do you know who you’ve crossed? Do you think the Rong Family is so easy to bully?!”
Listening to the servant repeatedly mention the Rong Family, Muniang was utterly baffled. Could they really be someone formidable? But then she reassured herself, her husband was Yu Ze—who could she fear?!
While the servant was still cursing, a group hurried over, led by a man who looked decent enough.
For some reason, Muniang felt compelled to describe him that way—perhaps some people just make you nauseous at first glance.
“What’s going on?!” the man in the green shirt demanded sternly.
The servant who was beaten down by Muniang immediately pointed at her and said, “Young Master, it’s her. She refused to give up her spot and beat us to this state. You must seek justice for me, Young Master!”
Only then did Rong Liming follow the servant’s direction to see Muniang standing there nonchalantly, as if leisurely waiting for him to make a move.
Rong Liming was struck dumb. Since when did Qinghua City have such a beauty, and how had he never noticed her! He considered himself experienced among women, having seen all kinds of beauties, but never one with such an aura. Just one glance, and half of his heart melted.
The servant had expected his young master to avenge him, but instead saw the young master mesmerized by the woman, prompting him to exclaim, “Young Master…”
Before he could finish, Rong Liming shouted, “Shut up! You disgrace, who asked you to take their spot? Shamelessly losing face for our Rong Family, and you still have the nerve to wield the Rong Family’s name with such audacity. You truly have become too brazen!”
The servant was so bewildered by Rong Liming’s scolding that he shivered and muttered, “But it was your order…”
“Dare to backtalk?!” Rong Liming interrupted him sharply, “Guards! Take him away and give him fifty strikes before throwing him out of the mansion. We of the Rong Family don’t need such a worthless servant!”
The servant couldn’t have imagined such an outcome. Rong Liming had been late and failed to find a good spot to watch the show, resulting in his fury and ordering his men to find an easy target to displace. If not for his command, how could he have been so bold?
But now, the young master had suddenly turned his back on him. Full of grievances, the servant wanted to protest but was silenced by Rong Liming’s intimidating look.
