Originally, Yu Ze suggested they should simply build an ice house on the estate for her convenience, but Muniang managed to stop him. Setting up an ice house in Tupo Village just for her own comfort would provoke discussions among the neighbors. “Lady, I’ve heard that the new Mei Garden is already built. When are we moving? It would be better to move earlier to avoid any oversight in the haste,” the servant suggested.

Muniang agreed after some thought, “I will discuss it with Second Boss later and then decide. Is the house in Qinghua City arranged properly?”

Qingya smiled, “Rest assured. I personally went to check yesterday, and it is arranged quite well. It’s all ready for you to move in.”

Muniang felt relieved. To make things more convenient, she had specially bought another small residence in Qinghua City. It wasn’t big, but with three courtyards, it was not small either. Being close to Mei Garden was also convenient.

Muniang was speechless; this man simply didn’t know how to be humble.

“Husband, when are we moving? Mei Garden is already finished, and in a few days, it will be open for business.”

Yu Ze looked at her pregnant belly, frowning with concern, “It’s not convenient for you to be out and about at this time. Why did it have to coincide with the move?”

Muniang also felt helpless, “But we must move. Otherwise, it will be even more inconvenient later.”

Yu Ze had no choice but to agree, “Let’s move tomorrow then. Everything on the other side is ready.”

Muniang asked excitedly, “How are we going to move?”

Yu Ze pinched her cheek, “It’s nothing you need to worry about. Tomorrow morning, we’ll take the horse carriage directly to Qinghua City. As for the stuff at the estate, I will have someone send it over.”

After finalizing the details with Mrs. Lin, they were ready to set off. The carriage was prepared, and the whole family boarded, heading straight for Qinghua City.

Madam Liu’s family had moved a few days earlier. She was the Second Boss at Yuyang Embroidery House, which had the most considerable presence in Qinghua City. Naturally, she had to manage the affairs there. Now she was already busy attending to them, having moved there early. The two families had purchased houses next to each other, which was, indeed, convenient.

Muniang’s carriage was leading the way, with two more carriages following behind, loaded with various necessities. Even this was quite a sight in Tupo Village.

The villagers gazed at the procession with curiosity, pulling at their voices to call out, “Yo, is this a move?”

Muniang lifted the curtain and smiled, “Yes, we’re moving to the prefectural city.”

“Make sure to come back for a visit. We’ve lived in Tupo Village all our lives and really have never seen a family move to the prefectural city just like that.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll come back to see everyone when I have some free time. I still have an embroidery room here, after all.”

Muniang managed a smile that did not reach her eyes and said, “Sister, if you want to make money, you should come work at my Embroidery House. The pay there is better than elsewhere, and it’s convenient since it’s close by.”

“But how much can you earn working in an embroidery room? Can’t you help us find some more respectable work, as neighbors?”

Muniang just smiled, no longer wanting to entertain her, and simply said, “Then we’ll be leaving first.”

That woman was furious, pointing at Muniang’s carriage and cursing, “Look at this selfish person, getting rich and not even willing to help us out.”

The others looked at that woman with a suddenly dimmer expression, “I’m not expecting anyone to help me out. I just want to live my own life well. Why should she have to help you out? That really is strange.”

Muniang shrank back into the carriage and sighed, “There really always has to be a troublemaker in the village, just upsetting to look at.”

Yu Ze patted Muniang’s pregnant belly, “Don’t get angry over this kind of thing. It’s not worth upsetting yourself and damaging your health, okay?”

Muniang snorted, “I’m not angry at all.”

Mrs. Lin had lived in the village for many more years, and now that she was about to leave, she was filled with emotion, “When I married into this family, I was only fourteen or fifteen. I’ve been through so much, but never thought the day would come to leave this place. I wonder if anyone will take care of your father’s grave.”

“Mother, it’s not like we won’t come back. We’ll return for father’s remembrance days,” Muniang consoled her.

Mrs. Lin wiped the corner of her eyes, “My daughter has done well, and as a mother, I’m happy. What is there to be unsatisfied with, leaving this small village.”

Only then did Muniang smile.

Once they arrived in Qinghua City, Muniang was so tired from the long carriage ride that she went to bed for a nap as soon as she got into the house.

After waking up for lunch, Muniang’s appetite had finally improved, eating double her usual amount. While eating, she kept complaining, “What will I do if I get too fat? I don’t want to turn into a big fatty. Why do I always feel like eating?”

“Eating more is a blessing, think of it as feeding the child,” Yu Ze could only comfort her this way.

Muniang patted her belly with melancholy, “Baby, your mother is really going all out for you. If I end up with a bad figure, it’s going to be all your fault.”
