Farm Tough Girl -
Chapter 456 - 456 457 Cant Die_1
Chapter 456: Chapter 457 Can’t Die_1 Chapter 456: Chapter 457 Can’t Die_1 Yu Ze casually picked up a few pebbles, concentrated his inner strength at his fingertips and flicked them, and the three pebbles struck the thief with lightning speed before he could cover his ears. The rapist had no idea that among this group of incompetent government officers, there was such a high skilled hero who could hit him from so far away; he was immediately hit repeatedly.
One pebble struck his arm, knocking the knife from his hand, another hit his acupoint causing numbness all over his body, and another struck his leg, preventing him from escaping.
With these three strikes, the thief let out a howl and fell to the ground. The Magistrate’s daughter, who had been restrained by him, also screamed in fright and hurriedly tried to get away. But who knew that the thief would still try to grab her, and in the scuffle, the Magistrate’s daughter tumbled straight down from the break in the valley.
Muniang quickly tugged at Yu Ze’s sleeve, “Shouldn’t we go rescue her?”
Yu Ze glanced at the lake below the valley and said indifferently, “Don’t worry, she won’t die.”
Muniang was stunned for a moment before turning to look at Miss Jin, watching her fall straight from the break and flailing in the air before plunging into the water.
Waves surged, and Muniang felt cold just watching, shivering involuntarily. Could she really not die from this?
The government officers were in a frenzy, scrambling chaotically to save her from the lake. But considering how cold it was, wouldn’t this water freeze someone to death? They hesitated for a moment, overcome with reluctance.
Miss Jin struggled fiercely in the river, and Li Dashi, without a second thought, jumped straight in. He quickly swam towards her to rescue her since her safety was imperative; if anything really happened to her, he would also be held accountable!
After much effort, they finally brought her up, pressed on her chest to expel the water she had swallowed, and she came to. As soon as she opened her eyes, she cursed, “A bunch of blind fools! You actually caused me to fall, and took so long to rescue me. Do you want to watch me drown?!”
The government officers were reprimanded so severely they didn’t dare make a sound. Muniang took off her cloak and tossed it over her head, saying indifferently, “Instead of wasting your time scolding people, you’d better hurry back to see a doctor. Aren’t you cold after being in the water so long? Your mouth, however, is still quite sharp.”
Jin Yuanyuan was infuriated, as someone dared to talk back to her. Angrily, she pulled off the cloak from her hands, “Who do you think you are? How dare you talk to me like this!”
“I don’t want it.”
“You!”
Yu Ze couldn’t stand it any longer, and said to Li Dashi, “We’ll get going if there’s nothing else, since everything is already taken care of.”
Li Dashi nodded repeatedly, “Thank you, Mr. Yu, for the rescue today. Otherwise, we really would not have known how to explain ourselves.”
Yu Ze didn’t respond, but he took off his cloak, wrapped it around Muniang, and then holding her waist, lightly tapped his foot and in a few steps, they were already on their carriage. He whipped the reins, and the carriage left in a cloud of dust.
The onlookers were dumbfounded, such remarkable light-footed skills were truly a wonder. Even though his skills were commendable, he did not catch Jin Yuanyuan earlier, suggesting it was deliberate. However, those thoughts remained in the hearts of the spectators only.
Jin Yuanyuan, who had been prepared to throw a tantrum, was suddenly stunned, gazing fixedly at Yu Ze’s disappearing figure. Not once did she blink, as if entranced. She never imagined that such a breathtaking man could exist in the world, his martial arts outstanding, and his actions toward that woman so tender. She had always thought that such men only existed in stories.
“Who is he?!” Jin Yuanyuan stood up, pointing towards the direction where Yu Ze’s carriage had left and asked.
Li Dashi replied promptly, “Reporting to Miss Jin, he’s from Chatu Town and has some personal relations with Lord Lu. That’s why he was specially invited to help with the rescue.”
Jin Yuanyuan’s eyes lit up, “Are you saying it was him who threw those pebbles earlier?”
Li Dashi was unsure why the young lady suddenly became so excited, but he still nodded hesitantly, “Exactly.”
Jin Yuanyuan said excitedly, “So the person who rescued me from the lake was also him?”
Li Dashi awkwardly said, “It was me.”
Jin Yuanyuan’s face darkened instantly and she cursed, “What the hell are you, daring to touch Miss’s body! Do you believe I’ll take your life?”
Li Dashi, on the verge of tears, looked to the others. The government officers under the Magistrate sympathetically watched him, yet none of them seemed surprised, evidently all too familiar with such situations.
Ultimately, Jin Yuanyuan still couldn’t sustain herself and hurriedly had people send her back to Qinghua City. Li Dashi was terrified, fearing that once this lady recovered from her illness, she would settle accounts with him. Had he known it would come to this, he would’ve preferred to let her drown than save her!
“Lady, Lady Qinghe and Master Zeng have arrived,” Qingya announced excitedly as she ran in.
Muniang’s eyes sparkled, and she hurriedly said, “Please invite them in quickly!”
“Yes.”
Qinghe appeared to be in better spirits than before, with a rosy complexion and eyes sparkling with radiance. As soon as she saw Muniang, she smiled, “Muniang.”
Muniang scolded playfully, “You little minx, married off and not visiting often, not even for the New Year. You truly are water thrown away, now that you have your husband, you’ve forgotten me.”
Qinghe quickly replied, “How dare I forget you? Before the New Year, I went with Zeng Gang to his hometown, and we’ve only just returned.”
Muniang said in surprise, “Isn’t he an orphan?”
“Orphans have hometowns too. He took me to burn incense for his parents. It’s like a family reunion during the New Year.”
“I see.”
As they were talking, they heard a crisp female voice, “Godmother!”
It was Zeng Gang holding Xi’er as he came in. Xi’er was now two years old and could speak the basics. Her delicate face was even more adorable, with crescent moon-shaped eyes that were incredibly charming when she smiled.
Muniang quickly took Xi’er from Zeng Gang’s arms, “My dear goddaughter, godmother has missed you so much. Have you missed godmother?”
Xi’er giggled and said, “Missed, Xi’er missed godmother.”
Muniang pecked Xi’er’s face, “What a good girl! Godmother will make you something delicious later!”
Zeng Gang laughed, “Xi’er was reminiscing about godmother a few days back. I just rushed back from my hometown yesterday, and here we are visiting today, just like paying a New Year’s visit.”
Muniang asked with a smile, “Have you been to Chengzi’s home yet?”
“Just went there. They’re down in the fields now. It’s time for spring plowing, and they are busy.”
Muniang nodded and then said, “Zeng Gang, have you taken on any new work this year? If not, help me with building a house.”
Zeng Gang was taken aback, “Build what house?”
“I’m planning to open a branch in Qinghua City. There need to be both a theater and an Embroidery House. I have selected the site, and in a few days, I’ll go to the government office to file the case and apply for the permission documents; then we’ll be ready to start construction.”
