Chapter 345: Chapter 346 Good Intentions Mistaken for Donkey’s Liver and Lungs_1 Chapter 345: Chapter 346 Good Intentions Mistaken for Donkey’s Liver and Lungs_1 Li Cheng was the first to respond energetically, “Right! Why should we submit to this group of defeated soldiers? The warriors of the Daqian Dynasty are so valorous, claiming great victories, so why should we, the people of the Daqian Dynasty, endure threats from these bastards? We must rebel and drive them all out!”

Having said that, he immediately charged out, ready to fight the scattered soldiers with all his might. All the villagers also snapped out of it, swarming to struggle against the scattered soldiers with their lives on the line.

The scene instantly descended into chaos. The man with the scar was stunned, having never seen such fearless peasants, and now they were rising up to attack together.

In the rooms behind, there were many scattered soldiers prepared to take their pleasure with the women, but they saw the villagers breaking down the doors with hoes in hand, viciously striking at those beasts.

Enraged, the scarred man lifted his knife and charged at Muniang, yelling, “You reckless bitch, I’ll kill you!”

But Muniang nimbly dodged aside, thinking to herself how lucky she was that the man was skilled, his speed so fast. The scarred man, after all, was seasoned on the battlefield and, now consumed with rage, his attacks were all the fiercer.

On the other side, Li Cheng was becoming anxious to help Muniang but found he couldn’t extricate himself from his own fight.

The scarred man’s moves, though simple, aimed straight for the deadly acupoints. Thanks to Muniang’s agility, she managed to dodge them. Suddenly seeing someone, struck by another, staggering toward the scar man’s blade, Muniang didn’t see clearly who it was, just knew from the clothes it must be a villager. She quickly grabbed him and pulled him behind her, then found an opening to intercept the knife in the scarred man’s hand.

Unfortunately, the scarred man was very strong, and they became locked in a stalemate. Muniang, quick-witted as she was, curled up her leg and kicked towards his lower body. Her surprise kick elicited a howl from the man. Muniang took the opportunity to snatch the knife from his hand, pressing it against his throat.

Immediately after, she heard Li Cheng’s heart-wrenching cry, “Muniang, be careful!”

Muniang, frozen in shock, turned just in time to see a large rock hurtling towards her head. Even with her fast reflexes, she couldn’t do anything now, because the rock was already upon her; if it hit her, it would be miraculous if she survived.

Suddenly, a strong force yanked her into an embrace and swiftly dodged to the side. The rock missed Muniang and directly hit the scarred man, who was still on the ground, eliciting a scream of agony. Muniang instinctively looked back, but a large hand covered her eyes.

Muniang’s first thought was that Yu Ze had returned, but she quickly realized something was wrong. The man’s scent was nothing like Yu Ze’s. As the stranger brought her to safety, Muniang hastily pushed his hand away to look and her eyes widened in instant recognition.

Nangong Qian?!

Nangong Qian seemed not at all surprised by Muniang’s expression and simply thrust his palm out towards another direction. Qiao Yuanzhen was sent flying far away by the powerful blow, spitting out blood as he went. It appeared his chest had been severely shaken.

Muniang narrowed her eyes, instantly understanding what had just happened. The person she had reflexively saved turned out to be Qiao Yuanzhen, and this man, after she saved him, had played a dirty trick on her from behind!

“Qiao Yuanzhen, you traitor! To think you would collude with these people against Muniang. Don’t you know she just saved your life?!” Li Cheng bellowed, grabbing Qiao Yuanzhen’s collar, trying to throw him out.

Qiao Yuanzhen’s face twisted with malice: “So what if she did? She brought this upon me; I’ve dreamed of her death!”

Li Cheng landed a punch directly on his face, and Madam Zhao quickly rushed forward to block Li Cheng, “What are you doing? Are you trying to kill him? Can’t you see he’s almost done for, you beast, let go of him!”

“Beast!” Li Cheng shouted sharply, “If it weren’t for Muniang today, none of us would have survived. Can’t you see that those enemy soldiers just wanted to toy with us? Once they got bored, none of us would have been left alive! It was Muniang who saved us all!”

“Exactly, Qiao Yuanzhen is simply inhuman. When it mattered most, he didn’t even lift a finger to help, and then he even attacked one of our own. He truly deserves to die!”

“Right, we in Tupo Village can’t have such a person, and he certainly doesn’t deserve the title of Mr. Scholar!”

At this moment, the villagers were united. Their usual squabbles were one thing, but how could they do something so outrageous as to harm their own people in a crucial moment?

The Village Head cleared his throat and said sternly, “What Qiao Yuanzhen has done today is indeed unforgivable! Tie him up for me too, lock him up in the ancestral hall, and after we deal with these scattered soldiers, the village elders will decide together how to deal with him!”

Madam Zhao was the first to object, crying out, “You’re unbelievably audacious! He is Mr. Scholar, and you dare to lock him in the ancestral hall? Aren’t you afraid that we’ll send a letter directly to the authorities to have you all executed!”

The Village Head snorted coldly, “Go ahead if you want. The atrocities Qiao Yuanzhen has committed today could certainly earn him the charge of treason and the heinous crime of implicating nine clans! Don’t say I didn’t warn you when the time comes!”

Madam Zhao’s face paled when she heard this, and she immediately shut her mouth, not daring to say another word.

“I’ve saved you again, how will you thank me?” Nangong Qian asked, his voice laced with a smile.

Muniang pushed him away fiercely, staring at him with deathly intensity, “Tell me! What devious scheme are you hatching now? You send your scattered soldiers to harm our village’s people, then you come to the rescue. What exactly are you trying to do?!”

Nangong Qian gave a helpless laugh, “On my honor, if I intentionally wanted to play the hero saving a damsel, I wouldn’t be foolish enough to use the scattered soldiers of the Qilian Kingdom. You’re not unaware of my identity, and besides—”

Nangong Qian, with a look of disgust, glanced at the captured scattered soldiers of the Tupo Village, snorted coldly, “Such trash isn’t worthy of being used by me.”

Although what he said seemed to make sense, Muniang still refused to believe it. After all, ever since she learned that he was a prince from the enemy country, she had been on guard against him.

“Then why are you here in Tupo Village? Don’t tell me you had nothing better to do than to wander here,” Muniang said sharply.

But for a moment, Nangong Qian was at a loss for words. Why had he come? Would she believe he came for her?

Muniang gave him a cold look and brushed past him without another word.

Nangong Qian was completely ignored, and it made him furious. It was as if his conscience had gone to the dogs! He had rushed over from Qilian Kingdom as soon as his wounds had healed, and she was treating his goodwill as if it were of no more account than an offering to a dog!
