Doctors are always busy and their schedules are tight. Every minute of learning time has to be squeezed out.

No one wants to see people dallying at a conference.

Initially, they thought that broadcasting a surgery live would suffice, but now it seems that a perfunctory effort could have unimaginable consequences.

"The lecture theme was decided after discussions within the department. There was quite a controversy initially. Later, it was decided to organize three surgeries. In fact, the final effect of this presentation should not be held to a high standard of a full house; it can be considered a success if fewer people leave halfway through."

Generally, at conferences, after all the lecture sessions and themes are determined, the organizers print out a program and distribute it to attendees. The visiting medical peers would definitely pick out the topics of interest on the program and find time to check them out.
