Chapter 1081: 【1081】Sent over the things she wrote

Knock knock, He Guangyou knocked on the door, holding the briefcase Tao Zhijie had left in the car and quickly stepped inside.

Seeing that the item had arrived, Tao Zhijie opened the briefcase and took out the document Xie Wanying had written.

"Did she write this?" President Wu asked him upon seeing his action.

President Wu seemed to know that she had written such a document, and Tao Zhijie had no choice but to nod.

"Read it out for us to hear," President Wu said to him.

Tao Zhijie was taken aback, turned his head back, and explained, "President, I haven’t looked at it yet—"

With so many respected old professors present, how could he publicly read a medical student’s discussion on a death case? Besides, he himself hadn’t had the time to see what it contained.

"It’s fine. I know Teacher Lu asked her to write it. If Teacher Lu trusts her, we can trust her too," President Wu said.

The doctors who were unaware of the situation asked, "What did Teacher Lu ask someone to write?"

President Wu explained to them in detail: "Teacher Lu sent a medical record from Old Zhang to one of our hospital’s medical students to see, hoping that newcomers could speak without reservations and present progressive medical views."

Medicine is advancing every day; it’s not surprising that when discussing past death cases today, with the advent of new medical technologies and concepts, new ideas and perspectives might emerge.

Logically speaking, Teacher Lu could have asked them as well. Perhaps for this reason, President Wu called this meeting. Everyone seated knew that there had been rumors recently of Teacher Lu falling ill. That Teacher Lu wanted to bring out Old Zhang’s medical record for discussion again indicated there was a knot in her heart. President Wu’s meeting tonight was also in hopes of unraveling the doubts in Teacher Lu’s heart.

But after everyone arrived, no one spoke up. Was it because they couldn’t remember the incident from four years ago? Clearly not; just like Teacher Lu, they all had knots in their hearts, leading to their uncertainty about how to start the discussion.

Listening to the newcomer’s ideas was acceptable since Teacher Lu trusted this person, and they too were curious about the whole story.

Tao Zhijie had reservations in his heart and said to President Wu, "She wasn’t present four years ago and is not directly involved, so she might not fully understand the situation at the time, and the things she wrote might be biased."

"Her not being directly involved may actually allow her to have a clearer perspective as an outsider and point out some of our mistakes," President Wu said, adding humorously, "What? Are you afraid I might eat her up?"

Seeing that President Wu could joke like this showed a more relaxed attitude. Time undoubtedly has the power to smooth away many of the sharp edges from the past.

Even though President Wu said this, Tao Zhijie did not take it lightly. There were far more significant figures present than just President Wu. Xie Wanying was unaware that decisions at the time were made not just by a single leader like President Wu.

If only one leader spoke in this way and other leaders did not agree or voiced opposition, the outcome might have been different. But in reality, other people, including the highly respected old professors at the hospital, collectively remained silent back then. These people would not have been intimidated by President Wu; it was clear that they had agreed with him in their hearts at that time.

With this in mind, the hand of Tao Zhijie seemed to want to put the document written by Xie Wanying back into the bag.

President Wu, sensing his thoughts, asked the others present, "Do any of you object?"

Zhao Huaming had already figured out who had written it and, recalling how he had delivered the book last night and received a thank-you letter this morning, was the first to speak: "I don’t object. I agree with President Wu; each generation thinks differently, and it’s not about the knowledge per se. I, for one, am very eager to hear new ideas from newcomers."
