Chapter 69: 066. "This isn’t home, this is hell."

*BHUK!

Herman slammed Reizel’s head with such force that the wavy-haired man fell to the floor. Without wasting any time, the old man immediately strangled Reizel and then pushed him until his head hit the wooden floor that had been soaked in a pool of blood.

Herman held Reizel’s head and forced him to look at the black creature with skull head.

"Look! She failed! She’s gone! But you’re different, you’ll be able to withstand it. You can be stronger!" said Herman in a passionate speech.

Reizel looked at the black creature and it stared back curiously.

Reizel didn’t want to admit it, he had just lost his little sister and all he had left was a figure that didn’t even have intelligence. He glanced at his father and found Herman who was grinning widely as if he was very happy with the possibility of what would happen next.

Reizel kicked Herman in the stomach and he managed to escape the old man’s grip.

The panicked man immediately ran towards the wide-open door and stomp away quickly.

’What is this? This isn’t real! What is this? Lana... No! It’s not real!’ Reizel’s thoughts became chaotic the more he ran away.

In his panic, he slipped on the stairs and fell to the ground. His left leg was sprained, but that didn’t stop him from moving on.

Even if he had to drag one of his legs, he had to get away. Reizel’s frantic actions attracted the attention of nearby residents. People stopped working and instead took notice of the limping man.

Reizel continued to drag his leg while panicking. "Run! All of you! Run!"

The shouting made the people worried and confused.

What was really going on? And why did Reizel look so scared? The villagers couldn’t keep their eyes off Reizel.

"What are you talking about Reizel, my son?" said Herman who was standing on the porch of the stilt house.

Herman’s appearance no longer had the appearance of an astral being, his appearance was now like an ordinary human. He walked casually down the stairs and tried to approach Reizel.

Because he was so scared, Reizel slipped and fell to the ground. "He’s a murderer! He killed Lana!"

The shouts made the villagers skeptical.

Herman continued to walk casually. "What are you talking about, Reizel? It’s just part of the ritual to protect this village. Are you forgetting something? Do you think there is a miracle that keeps us hidden from those cruel system users?"

Now the villagers were silent for a moment after hearing the village chief’s last sentence.

Herman continued to walk towards Reizel. "A region that is safe from the fury of the system users. Do you think it’s a miracle? Do you think you can survive out there? Against those monsters with strange powers?"

The frightened Reizel looked around and found people whispering worriedly and some looking down.

Rama suddenly broke out of the crowd and walked a few steps forward. "Why do you all look confused? What the village chief said was right. A little sacrifice is necessary because it is his responsibility as the village chief. The death of one person is not worth much if it can save a village."

The villagers who heard Rama’s words were instantly relieved. Their guilt and fear had vanished.

That’s right...

It’s not wrong...

What is wrong are the users of the system...

They are just trying to live a quiet life...

That’s right...

Lana’s death was the village chief’s way of protecting the villagers.... ....

That’s right...

We’re not wrong...

It’s not wrong...

That’s right...

This is not wrong!

All the thoughts of the villagers became one thanks to Herman and Rama’s words. They no longer felt guilty, they felt it was the right thing to do, it’s not a cruelty anymore, it’s a necessity.

Reizel was getting more and more confused. He looked at all the villagers who seemed to agree with his father’s crazy sentence.

Reizel looked at Rama who was grinning, then he tried to look at Randa. But Randa turned her face away, looking worried. Randa seemed to understand what Reizel meant, but she chose not to respond. She was too scared to open her voice and she couldn’t look her cousin in the eye.

No one was on his side. He was alone in the crowd of people who were not in their right mind.

Reizel looked at Herman who was walking closer and closer.

"I’m not at home... I’m in hell..."

-------------------------------------------------

*Tap...

One step was taken by Reizel and he felt more and more uncomfortable with the dark situation.

He could hardly contain his fear as the giant goat monster stared at him with a wide smile.

Reizel tried to stay calm and tried to focus on the old man sitting on the sofa.

"You’re finally home, my son," said the man sitting on the sofa who was none other than Herman.

"Yes, I’m home," said Reizel who continued to walk towards his father.

"Reizel, the day you left the village, the system users suddenly came and kidnapped many villagers to be their slaves," said Herman who managed to stop Reizel’s footsteps.

Reizel fell silent and swallowed his own saliva. "I... I..."

"It’s okay anyway, the villagers managed to return home and there are many newcomers who want to live here," Herman replied casually.

On the other hand, Reizel could only remain silent with his heart beating faster and faster. He couldn’t respond with any words. He still had a fear of his father and all the things about demonic rituals that existed.

Herman stood up and chose to walk towards Reizel. "You must already know, about a week ago, suddenly something strange happened. For some reason, all mystical things and magic became easier to do. Even many creatures of the mystical world appeared."

Herman glanced at the goat monster behind the sofa and Reizel reflexively followed the old man’s gaze.

"Kalomba king, I didn’t expect to see it in the real world and even that creature can live in this world, even during the day time," Herman said.

Reizel couldn’t say a word. His fear was too great with the kalomba king in the room.

"I heard you came here to become the new village chief," Herman continued to walk until he finally stood right in front of Reizel. "And you even brought your own sacrifice. Do you want to sacrifice her too after marrying her? Like I sacrificed Lana?"

*BHUK!

A hard punch was reflexively thrown by Reizel and managed to push Herman away.

Herman chuckled. "Amazing, you’ve gotten stronger. Being the village chief, you have to be this strong after all."

Reizel’s eyes widened. There was no longer any fear in the man’s eyes, there was only one emotion on his face.

Wrath...

"Don’t you dare say her name with your tongue!"
