Chapter 203: Chapter 177: Want to Shoot Me?

This was the first real, cozy dinner the couple had at their own home since Ji Sang learned about Yang Jun’s condition.

Influenced by Su Ge, and perhaps also by the romanticism inherent in photography itself, Ji Sang cared quite a bit about the sense of ceremony.

As Fu Yisi brought the dishes into the dining room, Ji Sang was already getting things ready on the side. She dialed the kitchen lights to their warmest, softest setting, lit the square cup candles they had used before, and placed them on the table. An auntie had always been tidying up their apartment regularly, so the flowers Ji Sang bought on a whim were still thriving.

She casually clipped a few flowers and placed them in a small vase with some thoughtful arrangement before setting them behind the candles.

To Ji Sang, these things already gave a sense of ceremony, but when Fu Yisi came out of the kitchen and saw her preparations, he added,

“Ling Yuxuan gave me a phonograph, it should be in the vacant room upstairs, want to give it a try?”

Ji Sang’s eyes lit up,

“Of course.”

With that, she headed straight upstairs.

Regardless of its value, the items Ling Yuxuan collected were bound to be expensive. Ji Sang had seen a phonograph previously while working on photography, but she hadn’t taken a good look at it back then. However, she knew that whatever Ling Yuxuan had given them was far more vintage than what she had seen in the photo studio.

Even though Fu Yisi had tossed it into the control room, the phonograph was dust-free because it had been covered with cloth.

It was just that its weight was beyond Ji Sang’s expectations; she almost dropped it on her first attempt to move it. Just as she straightened her clothes, preparing to lift it properly, Fu Yisi followed her upstairs.

“It’s not light, I’ll handle it,”

Ji Sang raised an eyebrow and waved her hand,

“Let me try it out.”

She didn’t really expect to be able to move it, but as someone who had carried a DSLR on her shoulder for many years, she couldn’t believe she wouldn’t be strong enough to lift it.

Fu Yisi looked on with a hint of amusement in his eyes, stepping aside and cautioning her,

“Don’t hurt your hands.”

Ji Sang casually nodded and took a deep breath.

Certainly, Ji Sang was relatively strong among women. However, the phonograph barely lifted two centimeters from the table before she couldn’t support its weight any longer and set it down.

“This thing is so heavy?”

Ji Sang frowned in disbelief.

The man chuckled and stepped forward, bending over to lift the phonograph while saying,

“Ling Yuxuan bid on this because of its weight.”

Ji Sang: …

She didn’t quite understand how to judge the value of a phonograph—other than age, could weight be a factor too?

But… Fu Yisi made it look too easy when he picked it up.

Out of professional habit, Ji Sang’s gaze inadvertently drifted to Fu Yisi’s arms. The veins on his arms stood out slightly from the effort. Coupled with the fact that Fu Yisi always kept up with his workouts, his arm muscles looked very attractive.

The scene was picture-perfect.

Ji Sang suddenly remembered that half a year ago when she returned from abroad, Fu Yisi came to pick her up, and his arms looked just as good carrying her suitcase.

She wanted to capture that moment back then.

Ji Sang’s hands, hanging by her sides, suddenly grasped at the air, and Fu Yisi, sensing her gaze, looked over.

“What’s wrong?”

Ji Sang pursed her lips,

“That… I want to take a photo.”

The man raised his eyebrows slightly.

“A photo?”

He looked down at himself, thinking about where Ji Sang had been staring, and it clicked for Fu Yisi.

“Take a photo… of me?”

Ji Sang hurriedly nodded.

The last time she photographed Fu Yisi was when he had just finished his morning workout.

“How about we go to the gym to take it? I’ve never done a shoot in the gym!”

Fu Yisi’s previously slightly upturned mouth sank, his eyes containing a touch of seriousness as his tone cooled,

“Which gym are you planning to photograph?”

“Huh?”

Ji Sang didn’t immediately grasp what Fu Yisi meant, the man furrowed his brows

“Ji Sang, don’t go to those places to shoot, if you’re going to shoot, do it in our home gym, take pictures of me, okay?”

After saying that, Fu Yisi suddenly remembered something.

He had heard Ji Sang mention occasionally that because of Su Ge, she had taken a few fashion magazine shoots.

So, every time, she was staring at other men for at least an hour?

Fu Yisi felt inexplicably unhappy.

Ji Sang didn’t notice the change in the man’s eyes, her spirits were high.

“Then let’s go now!”

She could already imagine Fu Yisi wearing sportswear, doing push-ups, with sweat drenching his back!

Fu Yisi: …

“Mrs. Fu, aren’t we having dinner?”

Ji Sang: …

“Oh, I forgot!”

Ji Sang gently patted her head. She had just put a lot of effort into preparing this dinner.

The man shook his head.

When it came to photography, Ji Sang was always so goofy.

As the two descended the stairs, Fu Yisi added

“I don’t mind you taking pictures of me, but you have to promise to exercise with me later.”

Fu Yisi had long noticed that Ji Sang could endure hard work when it came to photography, but in everyday life, she really didn’t do any exercise at all.

“Okay!”

Ji Sang didn’t think much, as long as she could take pictures of Fu Yisi, that was enough.

Moreover, she also had to go and shoot ‘whale fall’ later, so it would be good to exercise a bit to avoid discomfort during the shoot.

After going downstairs, Ji Sang once again turned her attention to the phonograph.

“Do you know how to operate this?”

Fu Yisi shook his head. He wasn’t very interested in vintage things. Ever since Ling Yuxuan had given it to them, he had never used it. It was only tonight, seeing Ji Sang enthusiastically creating the atmosphere, that he remembered this object lying around in the empty room.

“Shall we call Xiao Xuan?”

Fu Yisi snorted.

“He wouldn’t know either.”

The man bent down to take a closer look at the phonograph construction, which was actually quite simple, comprising just the turntable, large horn, tonearm, and stylus.

After a minute, Fu Yisi straightened up.

“I’m afraid tonight it can only serve as decoration.”

“Why?”

The man pointed to the turntable.

“I roughly know how to use it, but, we don’t have any records at home.”

When Ling Yuxuan gave it, he just gave the phonograph alone.

Ji Sang: …

“I see, then it will have to do.”

Although slightly disappointed, the two didn’t dwell on it. Just as a decoration, the atmosphere it created was enough.

Since they were going to exercise later, the two didn’t drink alcohol, using milk as a substitute.

Two people, one dining table, a few dishes.

Occasionally talking about trivial matters in life, occasionally saying a few intimate words between husband and wife.

A simple dinner, filled with utmost warmth.

After eating, they took a walk to digest their food before exercising an hour later.

Ji Sang changed into sportswear.

A black sports tank top, black slim-fit sports trousers.

Originally, she would have worn a jacket over it, but considering it was at home, Ji Sang lazily wore just a tank top.
