FALLEN ANGEL: MARRIED TO THE DEMON KING -
Chapter 75: THE PREPARATIONS (2)
Chapter 75: THE PREPARATIONS (2)
Arella felt her cheeks warm up at the intensity of his gaze. It would not have bothered her before, but now all she could think about was how he had practically confessed his feelings for her.
It might have been the bond talking, but it was still enough to make Arella feel things she had never felt before. She did her best to remain composed, and gave him a twirl, "well. I do think the dress matches me really nicely."
King Varziel’s dimpled smile was all the answer she needed to know that he liked the dress. Velmoria, who was standing a few paces away from King Varziel, seemed to be holding back an amused smirk. Arella rolled her eyes at her then before shifting her attention back to the king.
"I’m picking out a gown for the coronation. Do you think I can wear more than one?" She smoothed out the ribbons of the dress.
"That dress more than suits you, and you can do whatever you want for the coronation." King Varziel said.
It was then that Echo opened an eye, giving Arella a disinterested stare. He gave her a once over, and something that looked like a nod before going back to his nap. Arella took that as acceptance for the dress. She shook her head at her very lazy pet.
"I garner you want to see the other dresses?" Arella gave him a raised brow and a smirk
King Varziel nodded. "Well then, there are two more dresses to try on. Shall we move along?" She gave a nod to Azrathion and his attendants.
The demon seemed to be surprised, and his eyes were wide. Arella realized that she had not told any of them that she may wear one of their gowns for the coronation. Although that was because she had not made that decision then.
One of Azrathion’s helpers nudged him, and he snapped out of whatever reverie he had fallen into and instructed his assistants to get the gown from the mannequin.
Arella returned to the privacy of the partition and allowed Azrathion’s helpers to help her out of the white gown and into the next one. The dramatic black dress with gold embellishments was much more luxurious than it seemed at first. The fabric was even softer than it looked, and the corset hugged her waist snugly without being painfully uncomfortable. It was nothing like the corseted dresses she had worn in the angel realm.
When she emerged from behind the partition, the room fell silent. This time, it was not just the king’s gaze that pinned her in place, it was everyone’s. The gold accents on the dress caught the light, making her look otherwordly. Her pure white wings made for the perfect accessory to the dress and the gold accents that caught the light matched her halo quite beautifully. The dress was in one word, perfect.
Where Lorthiel’s dress was more of an angelic dress with it’s colors, Azrathion’s dress was a perfect blend of both in both design and style.
Arella loved this dress just as much as the first one and if she was asked, she really couldn’t make a decision. King Varziel said nothing, but his expression spoke volumes. His eyes had darkened as his gaze traced every line of the dress and every curve of her form. Arella felt as if she was being undressed from his gaze alone.
"Does it meet your approval?" She asked, raising her brow again.
"It would seem so." He replied although Arella was so sure he was not talking about the dress.
The others in the room avoided the king and queen, trying not to burst the bubble that seemed to have settled around them. Echo opened his eyes again to look at Arella and he huffed, which was as much of a reaction as Arella was going to get from the creature.
"Such a helpful thing we are." Arella rolled her eyes at him.
"I’ll try on the last dress before we make a decision." She turned back to the partition with a small smile. After she stepped behind the curtain, she could feel her cheeks heat up and the smile seemed to be stuck on her face. Her husband’s gaze had lingered on her, and Arella was almost sure he had wanted to help her out of it, but had been holding himself back.
As the attendants helped her into the final gown, the air seemed to buzz with anticipation. They had all seen how Melasva had been disrespectful but had still been allowed to design a dress. If anything, the queen was very magnanimous to allow the demon to still design her a dress after how she had acted.
However, they did not dare voice those opinions to the queen. They were just lower demons, as if could they understand what it was that an angel such as their queen was thinking?
The red and black dress was unlike anything Arella had work before. Ever.
It was bold, daring and sensual.
The figure was form fitting, before flaring slowly from the knees and pooling around her feet.
The contrast of the deep crimson against the black fabric also brought out Arella’s skin tone while the bare shoulders seemed to emphasize her large white wings. It clung to her in all the right places, leaving her breathless at the sight of herself. If she wore something like this back at home, it would be absolutely scandalous.
She loved it.
When she emerged for the last time, the room fell silent again, and this time the tension was even tighter than before. Arella could feel every pair of eyes on her, as they tried to guage her reaction to the dress. After all, Melasva had been the one to design this dress. Did the queen still hold a grudge and was she going to finally inform the king? Was that why he had come to watch her trying on the dresses?
The king’s gaze on Arella felt like her skin was on fire, and his desire was barely concealed this time. "Well?" She asked. She was glad her voice was steady despite the rapid flutter of her heart.
She gave him a twirl, just as she had done with the other gowns. The king stood, his movements slow, as if he were trying to maintain control of himself. He approached her, his steps echoing in the grand hall until he was standing mere inches away from her. He reached out and brushed his fingers against the fabric of her sleeve, before trailing down to her hand.
"You look majestic. How do you expect me to help you choose if you look so wonderful in all of them." His voice so close to her sent a ripple of heat all the way to her core.
Goodness.
It had been a while since she had felt such pure unadulterated heat for him. Perhaps it was because they had been going at it every time they were alone and in were in close proximity of each other.
Her breath caught in her throat at the intensity of his words.
She glanced down at their joined hands, her fingers trembling slightly as he lifted her hand to his lips. The warmth of his breath against her skin sent a shiver up her spine as he pressed a slow kiss to her knuckles. Her heart was pounding so loudly in her chest, so was sure that everyone in the room could hear it.
Although they were not alone, she very badly wanted to push him down on the couch and do whatever she wanted with him.
It was not her fault! He was just too tempting.
The atmosphere between them was so charged, and it was as if the entire room had melted away, and it was only the two of them in the room. She clenched the hand that he did not hold, and noticed the small smirk that had curled up his lips.
This man was... teasing her!
Arella wanted to smack him, although she found that she did not quite hate it. She swallowed hard, and withdrew her hand gently, and suddenly the world came back into focus. She forced her lips to pull up in a smile although all she terribly wanted was to get fucked so badly.
Goodness, her brother was right.
Just a few days in the demon realm, and she was turning into a debauched angel.
