FALLEN ANGEL: MARRIED TO THE DEMON KING -
Chapter 117: THE VIXIANTE PARA (5)
Chapter 117: THE VIXIANTE PARA (5)
The Foreverwatcher’s lips pulled up as he gave Arella something that was close to a smile but was not really a smile. Then, he raised his hand, and touched Arella’s forehead. His many reflections blinked, their golden eyes glowing in sync. "It seems that our time is up."
Arella shook her head, "Why does all this information matter in the first place? Why did I need to even know about any of my past lives."
The Foreverwatcher tilted his head, "It was never meant to matter," he murmured, "and yet it does. You will figure out everything in due time, child of Camael."
His words were not cruel, nor were they dismissive, but they showed finality. He was not going to tell Arella anything more no matter how she would ask.
"That does not answer anything." Arella rolled her eyes, retorting as she usually would.
The Foreverwatcher raised a brow, "Because you are not ready to hear the answer, you will come and seek me again, all in due time."
Before Arella could argue, a sound reverberated through the Hall. A low and distorted hum. The runes that were drawn on the large eye that hovered at the top of the hall, the runes that were etched onto the mirror, and the runes that were sewn onto his flowing robes, they all rattled, and shook, and the world itself twisted and turned before Arella’s eyes.
It was as if reality itself was being pulled apart.
The mirror behind the Foreverwatcher shuddered, and cracked from the bottom to the top. The cracks were golden, and they ran through the surface of the mirror, the light flickering violently as if something beyond it stirred.
"We really have to send you back now," The Foreverwatcher pressed his fingers onto Arella’s chin, and pushed her gaze back to his.
"But, i thought that perhaps I had been brought here to find a way to help those back at home. I still have no answer to our predicament, I do not know a way that I can fight those things. I have not even helped Haniel get Kratel’s soul back to his body. I have not done anything of use." Arella was babbling at this point.
However, she was desperate.
"For now, child, you already have the answers that you seek." The Foreverwatcher pressed his fingers tighter on her chin. It hurt, slightly, but it sent a wave of calm through Arella. His golden eyes stared into her own, flickering in and out of existence. "If you really do need me, you will figure out a way to find me. After all, you are your mother’s daughter, are you not?"
"I see." She said finally. "You are right. I am my mother’s daughter."
After she had said that, the Foreverwatcher gave her another smile, this time, it pulled at the edges of his lips, and creased the corners of his eyes lightly. "That is the daughter of Camael that I know."
He raised his fingers higher, and touched them to her forehead, leaving behind a featherlight touch.
"Remember, child of Camael, you are unlike anyone else, and the answers you need, are always, and always remain in you. Whether you seek the path to find your answers, or you seek the answers for yourself. I wish you luck."
Then, without warning, he pressed the pads of his fingers to Arella’s forehead.
The moment his fingers made contact, a rush of holy energy filled her body, and the Hall of Eternity fractured before her eyes. Golden light seared through the cracks that grew all around her. Reality had been torn open.
Arella turned her head, "Haniel!" She called out. The angel who had helped her raised his head, and Arella gave him a large smile, "Thank you for helping me, and I am sorry that I was not of much assistance to you."
Haniel said something, but Arella did not hear him as pain engulfed her.
A force that was beyond comprehension ripped through Arella’s soul, pulling at her very soul.
A blinding radiance consumed her vision, and her body, or whatever form she currently had, felt weightless, and she was floating, and floating. As if she were being drawn through the threads of fate itself.
Then, there was a rush of sensation, as the feeling of breath filled her lungs. The cool bite of air against her skin, the distant muffled echoes of a battle raging beyond her consciousness, and then, a heartbeat.
Her own.
The world rushed back into focus.
Arella gasped as if surfacing from deep water, her chest rising sharply as air flooded her lungs. The weight of her body returned in a seeming instant, and pain—dull, throbbing, but undeniably real—grounded her back into reality.
The battlefield roared around her.
She was in a bed, in a soft bed, and the rush of holy power from her brother filled her senses. Castiel’s holy power was always warm, and comfortable, and she could recognize it from a mile away.
She was home.
--
Castiel stood in the middle of the chaos, holding on tightly to his staff as he used it like a sword to smack one of the intruders. Water and air swirled around them, their combined force sending the enemies crashing backward into the stone of the palace walls. A shockwave rippled from the impact, and the wall caved outwards, crashing with the strain of the battle.
"Hold the lines," Castiel’s voice rang clear, as he slashed down at an attacker. The demons fighting beside him doubled their efforts, their weapons blazing with energy as they cut through the invaders.
The enemies fought with strange abilities, most of which Castiel had never seen before. They wielded weapons that Castiel had never seen before, and even with the most deadly of strikes, did not fall. Their weapons pulsed with an eerie glow that sent a slither of cold dread down Castiel’s spine.
He needed to protect his sister. She was his main priority.
However, there was only so much he could do against enemies that did not die, against enemies that seemed to be immune to his power.
The demons fighting alongside Castiel were starting to falter. Frustration laced their movements, exhaustion weighing down their strikes. Even Castiel, one of the most battle-hardened warriors was beginning to realize that conventional means of combat would not win this battle.
Just when he really was losing hope, a surge of holy power emanated from behind him, from the bed where his sister lay.
Castiel turned, as hope bloomed in his chest.
Arella’s body floated in the air, glowing with a bright gold radiance that filled the room that they were in.
Her golden wings unfurled just as a rush of holy energy filled the room. Each feather of her wings shimmering like molten light. The pressure of her aura sent ripples through the air, like a tidal wave of holy power rolling across the palace. The very walls of the palace trembled beneath the weight of her holy power.
Castiel’s breath caught as he watched holy power manifested into blames so bright and so blue. The flames swirled around her, burning away the clothes she wore in the process.
But rather than leaving her body bare, the fire twisted and turned, reshaping into golden armor that settled onto her body like a second skin. The breastplate gleamed with celestial runes, the bracers and greaves radiating divine heat. A long sash of white and gold wrapped around her waist, fluttering in the wind stirred by her awakening power.
Castiel was stunned, and he smacked down an attacker with his staff before taking a few steps to Arella. The flames, however, were too hot, and he was only able to take a few steps before being deterred.
"Ella." He whispered, as the grip on his staff loosened.
The flames grew brighter, and Arella’s hair, which had been shoulder length since she came from the human realm, grew longer, falling and flowing past her waist like liquid gold. Castiel was stunned.
