Chapter 333: Ch 333 : Fate

The door opened.

A suffocating sense of oppression followed, emanating from behind the door—pure and absolute suppression on the level of existence itself.

Even Noel felt as if something was weighing on his heart, inexplicably heavy.

Noel looked up.

Beyond the open black door was an ocean of data.

Countless obscure and enigmatic runes were arranged and combined according to some unknown logic.

Noel could sense the strange power contained within them—this was a force more advanced than his own divine power, symbols that embodied the very laws of this world.

"So, it’s done," Lia’s voice interrupted Noel’s thoughts.

She spoke softly, "Nord-niisama, you understand now, don’t you? This... is the ’core’ of the world. You could say that all life and energy originate from here, and after destruction, return to this place. Even our divine power comes from here."

By now, Noel understood everything.

What Lia’s goal had been all along.

What she intended to do was actually very simple—gain control over the "core" of this world, and thereby obtain the power to freely rewrite its reality.

If this world were a book, then what Lia wanted was the pen that writes it.

Once she succeeded, there would be no one left in this world capable of opposing her will.

She would be able to reshape the world entirely according to her desires.

(She must be stopped!)

The moment Noel fully understood everything, that thought surged through his mind.

But the current situation was overwhelmingly unfavorable for him.

Even with the Sword of Judgment in hand, Noel was still at a complete disadvantage against Lia—especially now that she had gained the ability to control the White World.

If Lia truly wished to kill him, Noel knew the worst-case scenario all too well: he could be dead within minutes.

In such a situation, there was no room for counterattack.

(In this kind of situation... it truly is a desperate corner... huh.)

Noel gave a bitter smile in his heart.

But he had no intention of giving up.

From the moment he resolved to confront Lia, he had already decided to fight until the very end.

No matter how dire the circumstances, Noel would never succumb to despair.

"Screw it," Noel took a deep breath, summoning every ounce of his divine power.

Golden light gathered in his hands, the radiant brilliance nearly destroying the chains that bound him.

In an instant, the light fused with the Sword of Judgment, and together they radiated an overwhelming aura of power.

"Divine Light Art, Chapter Nine, Section Five — Judgment of the Creator."

Noel raised the Sword of Judgment.

Just that simple motion caused the black chains formed by the power of the White World to shatter instantly.

Noel hadn’t even done it on purpose—his sheer energy output alone brought about this result.

Seeing this, Lia narrowed her eyes slightly, her expression growing more serious.

There was no sound, no warning—in the blink of an eye, the golden energy transformed into an unstoppable blade, surging toward Lia.

"What a pity. I had thought, Nord-niisama would have supported me."

Lia slowly raised her hand.

The dark divine power materialized, transforming into a massive shield.

"Dark Divine Art, Chapter Four, Section Four — Shield of Dominion."

Boom!

The explosive force crashed into Lia’s shield.

Divine powers collided, twisting and fracturing the space around them.

Noel’s divine energy surged forward, struggling desperately to break through the barrier—but Lia’s shield didn’t waver in the slightest.

Even after expending all his strength, Noel couldn’t pierce it.

"Nord-niisama, your stamina and energy have already reached their limits. You can no longer stop me."

The crystal in Lia’s hand glowed, and from beyond the door, the sea of information surged forth, as if summoned.

It broke past the threshold and coiled around Lia, circling her like vassals revering their sovereign.

Lia reached out and grasped what should have been intangible—the chains of information.

"These are the world’s chains of text... and also the chains of fate. Do you understand now, Niisama? No one can stop me anymore."

As she spoke, the chain of fate in her hand began to ripple.

One by one, images began to appear—like a carousel of a person’s life, showing scenes from childhood, youth, and adulthood...

But then Lia’s smile suddenly froze.

Because what she saw at the end of that chain of fate was not a person’s death—but that person casually strolling through the streets.

"What... is this...?"

Lia slowly released the chain of information.

For the first time, confusion appeared in her eyes, which had always been as calm as a still lake.

She stood motionless in the void, speechless and dazed.

"It’s actually quite obvious," Noel’s voice drew her attention.

As Lia turned her gaze toward him, Noel spoke softly, "The so-called chain of fate does indeed exist. But... it’s not that fate controls us—it’s that we are constantly creating fate. Every choice we make, every decision we take, leads us down a different path. The chain of fate records all of that. In other words, the chain of fate isn’t something that manipulates us... it’s something that documents us."

...Lia’s pupils suddenly contracted.

"Lia, that’s enough. It’s over now," Noel said gently.

"Let it end here. Everything is finished."

"Everything... is finished?"

Lia lowered her head, staring at her own hands, murmuring to herself in a voice that grew quieter and quieter.

Just as Noel was beginning to lose track of what she was saying—suddenly, Lia smiled.

"Heh... over? You think it’s over? Don’t make me laugh. How could it possibly end like this?"

Lia raised her head, and on her once gentle face was now a chilling coldness that made one’s heart freeze.

"I was wrong. I never should’ve done things this way—placing my hopes in anything outside of myself, taking all those detours... it was all unnecessary. I can create the world I desire with my own power."

Hearing her words, a sense of dread immediately surged in Noel’s heart.

Before he could react, Lia’s figure appeared right in front of him without any warning.

Her arm, infused with dark divine power, pierced straight through his abdomen.

A violent surge of darkness exploded outward, sending Noel flying.

Then, chains formed from the power of the world shot in from all directions, completely binding him.

"Nord-niisama, just rest for a little while."

Lia looked calmly at the now-unconscious Noel and spoke softly.

Then, the space around her tore open—and she vanished from the White World.
