Chapter 201: Chapter 201 Naturally has the ability to love.

Although both were surprised and at a loss about the arrival of the baby, deep down they were both happy.

Pei Yu seemed so thrilled he didn’t know what to do with himself, holding Shen Zhiyi quietly for a while before suddenly asking, "What should we name the baby?"

Shen Zhiyi was amused by him, "Isn’t it too early to think about that now?"

They didn’t even know whether it was a boy or a girl.

Pei Yu pursed his lips, knowing he was too anxious, and whispered, "Zhizhi, I am really happy."

It was as if, from the moment he married Shen Zhiyi, he had everything he ever wanted.

Shen Zhiyi looked up and kissed his lips, "Me too."

She thought of something and frowned worriedly, "But I haven’t finished shooting my film yet."

"Other than filming, I’ve canceled all other work," Pei Yu said, taking her hand to help her arrange, "Can we use a stunt double for the action scenes?"

At the moment, this was the only way to manage both.

Shen Zhiyi nodded and told him she had hung on wires today, "When the doctor said I was pregnant, I immediately thought of that. It was so scary, luckily nothing went wrong."

She had truly been frightened and shocked today, and it made her talk more. Pei Yu listened quietly, his heart felt as if it was soaked in warm water, gradually becoming soft and tender.

She never once thought of not keeping the baby.

"Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?" He was most worried about this, "Let’s make an appointment with the doctor for a checkup tomorrow."

"No, aside from not having much appetite and feeling sleepy," Shen Zhiyi touched her belly, feeling amazed. Before the doctor told her she was pregnant, she had no inkling at all, but now it felt as though she could suddenly sense the presence of the baby. She wondered if it was just her mind playing tricks.

"Is there anything you want to eat now?"

Shen Zhiyi was about to shake her head, but remembering she wasn’t alone anymore, she reluctantly said, "Something light."

Dinner was quickly prepared, and as she put on her shoes to go downstairs, she noticed Pei Yu always trying to support her. She couldn’t help but laugh and push him away, "What are you doing? I can walk by myself."

Pei Yu’s eyes and brows showed his helplessness, "I’m worried."

His concern for her was already great, but now that she was pregnant, he was even less at ease about her walking by herself, always on the alert for any accident.

The butler stood by the dining table, watching the couple sticky and sweet together, almost as if glued to one another, and couldn’t help but laugh.

The dinner spread was more extensive than usual, and Shen Zhiyi picked a few dishes, her appetite still weak. However, the fruits prepared by the butler caught her attention after the meal.

"I want to eat lychees."

Pei Yu put down his chopsticks, "I’ll ask the doctor."

He was already strict with what Shen Zhiyi ate, fearing she might suffer from gastroenteritis again. Now, his vigilance had reached a point where he questioned everything.

While he consulted the doctor, Shen Zhiyi had already slipped into the kitchen to ask the butler for two lychees.

As the butler peeled them, she laughed, "Why do you have to ask the doctor even for this, have you had a stomachache recently?"

"No," Shen Zhiyi said with a smile, surprising her, "I’m pregnant."

The butler almost knocked over the fruit bowl, seeing the smile on Shen Zhiyi’s face and realizing she wasn’t joking—no one would joke about such a matter.

"Heavens," she examined Shen Zhiyi’s belly, "I hadn’t noticed, did you find out today?"

She had never had a child herself, so it was natural she lacked experience in that area and couldn’t tell.

"Hmm," Shen Zhiyi chatted with her for a while before being carried back to the bedroom by Pei Yu to rest.

That evening, Qin Fang, who was abroad, was playing with his son when he suddenly received a video call from Pei Yu. He walked to a quiet location to answer.

"What’s up, is there something you need me to do?"

The last time he sought him out was to ask him to bid for a birthday gift for Shen Zhiyi at an auction house.

Sitting behind the desk in his study, Pei Yu looked indifferent as usual, but the question he asked was somewhat unusual, "How’s your son?"

"Wow," Qin Fang was surprisingly taken aback as his own son had never been so popular before to garner Pei Yu’s concern, "He’s playing outside, are you missing my son?"

Three years had passed, and he still hadn’t married. Old Qin’s constant urging was ineffective; he had already disappointed him and was planning to bring his illegitimate son back to the country to raise him as his grandson.

"Not really," Pei Yu said indifferently, "Nothing special."

"Hah," Qin Fang teased him, "That’s sour grapes talk. Wait till you have a son and say that to me then."

Pei Yu raised his eyebrows, "So isn’t that why I’m talking to you now?"

Qin Fang: "...!!"

He was stunned, "Are you joking with me?"

Before Pei Yu could respond, he answered himself, "No way, you, er, is Zhiyi really pregnant?"

"Seven weeks now." Pei Yu appeared very calm.

Qin Fang wanted to say something more, but Pei Yu was busy, he had to hurry to notify others.

So that evening, everyone close to Pei Yu knew he was about to become a father.

Qin Xiaoran called Shen Zhiyi’s phone, "Aahh, am I going to be an auntie?!"

Shen Zhiyi reminded her with a smile, "Qin Fang is an uncle, shouldn’t you be a little aunt?"

"I’m on your side!" Qin Xiaoran was thrilled, "I want to be an auntie!"

In the years since she married, she and her husband had lived in different countries, with no plans for children yet. But perhaps it was age catching up, as she increasingly found herself fond of children. She doted excessively on Qin Fang’s son, and now there was another baby to love, she couldn’t have been happier.

"Really, Brother Pei Yu called just to tell me this news. After I congratulated him, he hung up," she complained, "Still so insensitive."

After chatting for a while, Shen Zhiyi coordinated with Wang Feifei about how to manage their future work and searched online for some parenting videos. As she watched, she began to feel increasingly anxious.

Pei Yu returned from the study and saw her frowning at her phone screen, "What’s wrong?"

"Pei Yu," Shen Zhiyi, caught in his embrace by her knees, expressed her worries, "I don’t know how to be a good mother."

Having grown up in a dysfunctional family herself, her memory of her mother was vague. Not having received sufficient motherly love, how could she be a qualified mother?

She whispered, "What if the baby feels I’m not a good mom, or that I don’t love him enough?"

She had already given her all when she fell in love with Pei Yu, her passion divided between her work and him. With a new baby on the way, she didn’t know if she could balance it all.

"Zhizhi," Pei Yu’s voice was very serene as he reassuringly told her, "You won’t be, you were born with the ability to love."

It seemed she inherently knew how to love; Pei Yu felt blissful being loved by her all the time. He knew if the baby was born into this family, they would be bathed in Shen Zhiyi’s love just like him.
