Chapter 142: Chapter 142: Giving Fans a Backdoor.

This Red Carpet Night was held at the International Convention and Exhibition Center. Several hours before the red carpet event began, the surrounding passages had already been occupied by journalists from various major media outlets and the fan site leaders of the artists, with positions closest to the red carpet being the most coveted.

Having undergone over two hours of makeup, Shen Zhiyi was feeling a bit sleepy in the car. There was still over half an hour before the start of the red carpet, and a long wait was expected before her appearance.

She leaned on Pei Yu’s shoulder and whispered, "I want to sleep for a bit."

"Hmm," Pei Yu responded, gathering her hair that had fallen over his shoulder. "Go to sleep, I’ll wake you when we arrive."

Not long after she fell asleep, Xiaodong received a call, "...our position has been taken? Who took it?"

In order to get a good shot at the red carpet, the studio had initially reserved a spot with a good view for the fan site leaders. Now, close to the event’s start, they were telling her that the position had been taken.

The person on the other end of the line spoke at length, and Xiaodong was almost livid. "This is a deliberate attempt to upset us, isn’t it? I’ll speak to Sister Feifei, see if she can contact someone from the organizers to deal with this."

Time was pressing; soon the red carpet live broadcast would start and positions couldn’t be changed arbitrarily. Xiaodong immediately called Wang Feifei to inform her of the situation.

After speaking for a few moments, Wang Feifei was furious, and Xiaodong’s voice also unconsciously grew louder. As she was speaking, she looked up and met Pei Yu’s gaze, which immediately sent shivers down her spine.

Pei Yu’s expression was cool. He wrapped an arm around the sleeping Shen Zhiyi in his embrace and gave Xiaodong a placid look, extending his hand, "Give it to me."

Xiaodong quickly passed him the phone.

Fearing he would wake Shen Zhiyi, Pei Yu spoke in a very low voice, "Can it be handled?"

Wang Feifei hadn’t realized that Pei Yu was accompanying them to this red carpet event. Suddenly hearing his voice, she nearly couldn’t react, but curiosity wasn’t a priority now. After a brief consideration, she decisively stated, "It’s going to be difficult."

There wasn’t much time. The artist whose fans had taken their spot had a higher status, notorious for their unreasonable behavior. The organizers were known for their opportunism and might not be able to sort it out properly for them, probably just trying to smooth things over.

Pei Yu hummed in acknowledgment but said no more, "Contact Secretary Qin."

Wang Feifei immediately responded with joy, "Alright!"

As the red carpet event was about to start, on the plaza in front of the International Convention and Exhibition Center, fans from two camps were in the middle of an argument.

"This was clearly our spot. Isn’t it a bit shameless to steal it just like that?"

The girl holding the camera was so angry that her face turned red. Their fan site had just three people, and even their spot had been taken. How were they supposed to film their Zhiyi now?

"Is your name written on the ground?" the other side retorted arrogantly. "We took this spot, so it’s ours. If you keep arguing, the organizers might just kick you out soon. Better behave."

Silenced by these harsh words, and fearing that a real commotion might get them thrown out completely, the girls became even more panicked.

During the scuffle, several of them were pushed to the outskirts, which made it impossible to film anything. As they were worrying, two men in suits came out of the convention center in a hurry, arrived at the fringe of the red carpet area, and started looking around, "Where are Shen Zhiyi’s fan site leaders?"

Hearing the voice, the girls turned around, some of them hesitant to respond, worried that these men were here to drive them away.

Noticing their gaze, the two men walked over, quite politely, "Your spot is somewhere else. I’ll take you there."

"Where are you taking us?" everyone was on guard. "Our place is here, but it was occupied!"

Probably they would be crammed into some corner.

"We’ve arranged a spot in the front for you," the person in charge said very politely. "We’ll deal with the occupation issue right away."

He nodded at the other man, who brought over some security guards and without a word, escorted away several men and women with cameras from the very front of the red carpet.

The girls looked at each other, astonished.

They just drove them away?

The man in charge smiled politely, "Can you follow me now?"

Following behind this man, the girls discussed in whispers.

"It must be Zhiyi’s side that contacted the organizers,"

"It must be, but it was also resolved so quickly. I thought we were just going to suffer in silence."

The person in charge led them to their new location, "You can shoot from here. Are you satisfied with this spot?"

Compared to their previous spot, this one was not just slightly but significantly more forward. The surrounding media reporters were officially invited. They were the only fan site leaders there.

"We’re, we’re satisfied."

The girls were stunned; they hadn’t expected to exchange their spot for one this good. How did this happen?

"Can we really shoot from here?" someone asked anxiously, "Aren’t fan site leaders not allowed in this area?"

Hopefully, they wouldn’t be kicked out again.

"Originally, you weren’t allowed," the man in charge wiped the sweat from his forehead. "But the venue has been borrowed from the organizers, and the people from the convention center asked to give you a better position."

The call came directly to him, scaring him quite a bit. Once the convention center made a request, the organizers didn’t dare delay.

"People from the convention center?" everyone was even more confused. "Why would they do that?"

It turned out not to be arranged by the organizers?

"They said," the person in charge smiled oddly, "that everyone is family and of course we should help."

"Family..." murmured the youngest girl, "Could it be that they are also fans of our Zhiyi?"

They hadn’t heard about such a capable ally within their community.

"I’ll ask," someone said, "I’ll inquire with Zhiyi’s assistant."

After the message reached Xiaodong, she learned about the follow-up to this situation. She stole a glance at Pei Yu, who was quietly draping a light blanket over Shen Zhiyi, his actions so gentle. Even such a simple task seemed to be performed with great care.

Xiaodong moved her fingers and replied with two words.

"Oh my gosh," the girl who saw the reply nearly dropped her camera, staring blankly at her companions, "It’s the brother-in-law."

"What?" The other two girls didn’t understand and leaned over to look at her phone. After two seconds of silence, they finally grasped the significance, "Quick, check who built the Convention Center!"

Although they had heard his voice in Shen Zhiyi’s live streams, they never knew the identity of this "prospective brother-in-law." Now they might have some clues.

"Pei’s," was the quick discovery, "So our brother-in-law works at a big company. We just don’t know his position."

"He sounds pretty young," and if he was young, his position might not be very high. If he had some competence, at best he might be a manager.

A fan speculated, "Maybe a department manager?"

After discussing, they promptly shared this information with their fellow sisters.

Regardless of other factors, just judging by this capable handling of the situation, they were willing to accept him as their brother-in-law.
