Chapter 159: Chapter 158: Valkyrie’s Ride (4K)_2

For the Triple Alliance, they must inflict pain on the Victor Empire from the start, preventing it from dragging the war into a prolonged battle and thereby crushing the Triple Alliance with its formidable industrial strength.

To achieve this, the key is to destroy Victor’s Royal Shipyard.

Keep in mind that nearly half of the warships in the Victor Empire’s Navy come from this shipyard. Once it’s destroyed, even with Victor’s industrial capacity, it will be difficult to recover in a short period.

Without the logistic repair capabilities of the Royal Shipyard, the Imperial Navy will lose its ability for sustained combat. As long as the Triple Alliance fights steadily, they can defeat it!

Not to mention that the Royal Shipyard is currently manufacturing Flying Airships — such powerful weapons! It certainly cannot be allowed to continue existing!

For this, the Triple Alliance has devised a plan deemed as insane, using all of the Triple Alliance’s elite ground forces as bait to lure the Imperial Navy. As soon as they leave port, the Triple Alliance fleet will destroy the Royal Shipyard!

To implement this plan, not only have all military forces of the Triple Alliance been mobilized, but even diplomats like Anthony have been assigned important deception tasks, making Victor Empire believe that the Triple Alliance’s attack direction is the army!

This is a highly dangerous mission; exposure would inevitably lead Anthony to a very cruel fate.

Yet, for the love of his homeland, Anthony was resolute!

Just like now, as the French ambassador stationed in Victor, after declaring war, he could have already withdrawn from Langton, but he insisted on staying and frequently attended various gatherings hosted by Langton’s high society.

All to create a pro-Victor image, enabling him to obtain more intelligence and information, and execute the deception plan with ease.

There’s no denying that Anthony’s efforts and risks are worthwhile, at least this evening he received an invitation to a very high-level party within Langton. Based on the information he obtained, those who could attend this party are the true power holders in Langton’s military and political circles.

Moreover, he received news that a very prominent figure will appear at this gathering: Victor Empire’s Northern Guardian, Count of Exploration, Perfikot Brandelis.

She also has another identity as Langton’s youngest and most talented Alchemist ever, the inventor of the Steam Knight and Flying Airship.

In a certain sense, it’s not an exaggeration to say she triggered this war.

Although knowing it’s unlikely, Anthony prepared a delicate and small hidden weapon on himself – a sleeve arrow crafted by the finest artisans of the former French Royal Family, capable of accurately hitting a target within fifty meters and piercing through knight’s armor.

If there’s an opportunity, Anthony hopes to remove this grave threat for his country!

She’s only fourteen years old yet has invented the Steam Knight and Flying Airship, major inventions that could change the world. No one can guarantee what astonishing things she may create by the time she’s forty, thirty, or even twenty.

If such a genius cannot be used by one’s own country, then she must be eliminated!

With such thoughts, Anthony walked into today’s party venue, the most luxurious theater in Langton City, with a martyr-like fearlessness.

Inside the theater, rare big figures duly dressed were sitting in their respective seats in a relaxed and excited state, their conversation showed no signs of tension despite the Triple Alliance’s declaration of war.

It seemed the declaration of war by the Triple Alliance meant nothing to the Victor Empire, not even giving the Empire any pressure.

This was certainly abnormal.

Especially since Anthony noticed these real authoritative figures from Victor Empire’s military and political circles were not only gathered together today, but also showed an unusual anticipation for tonight’s upcoming performance.

However, when Anthony maintained his loyal-to-Victor guise, inquiring among those familiar acquaintances for information, the answers he got were merely that tonight’s performance would be quite splendid, and that it was directed by Perfikot himself.

Apart from this, everyone seemed evasive when deeper details were mentioned, maintaining a secretive posture.

This left Anthony quite perplexed, but since he learned Perfikot would appear tonight and even perform on stage, he could no longer delve further, instead focusing on finding the right position and opportunity to prepare for an assassination attempt on Perfikot.

As important figures from Langton City appeared one by one, eventually even the Victor Empire’s Eldest Princess arrived, the heavy curtain on stage finally opened.

A symphony orchestra renowned in Langton was seated on stage, ready for the performance.

In front of them, at the center of the stage, was a very beautiful white piano. A girl in a green gown sat in front of the piano, her hands resting on the keys.

Upon seeing this girl appear, all the Victorians in the theater spontaneously applauded.

They knew what would happen today, and knew who was behind it all.

"Welcome everyone to my theater, tonight a grand performance will unfold here." Perfikot spoke without standing, using a lyrical tone: "This is a symphony composed of steel, flames, and blood, structured by a war prologue, and I play it with slaughter and death."

As Perfikot spoke, the orchestras on stage began playing the prepared musical piece.

When the familiar melody sounded, Perfikot’s hands began moving across the piano keys.

If a person from her pre-crossing world heard this piece, they could recognize it as the famous "Ride of the Valkyries."

As she played this piece, a huge map descended from above the stage, marking five locations in red.

Upon seeing the map, Anthony’s eyes narrowed, becoming tense.

Because the places marked on the map were precisely the gathering points of the Triple Alliance’s army, the hiding naval ports of their main fleet, as well as the capitals of the three nations.

"Hours ago, Flying Airships loaded with death and destruction have already departed and right now they’ve reached their planned destinations." Perfikot’s voice continued, Anthony could barely hold back from firing the sleeve arrow, yet he couldn’t take action as if he sensed something terrifying would happen and wanted to know exactly what it was.

As the composition grew more intense, Perfikot’s tone heightened.

She pounded the piano keys while raising her head, declaring: "The enemy fears our might, aims to threaten the Empire into submission through war! But the Empire never yields! No matter who the enemy is, no matter their quantity, we will grant them equal destruction."

Perfikot’s words ignited excitement amongst Langton’s military and political high officers, all containing their enthusiastic emotions as if a volcano was brewing.

Anthony felt his heart gripped by something, the dominant atmosphere within the theater made him breathless.

As the music reached its peak, Perfikot finally delivered a message that stopped his heart: "This musical piece will sound the demise of the Empire’s enemies, loyal warriors of the Empire will deliver their deaths!"

Issue the action command to our warriors! The sky is burning, the land crawls beneath my feet! Deploy Thermobaric Bombs to annihilate the Triple Alliance’s capitals! Destroy their armies! Their fate is only death and ruin!"
