Exotic Battlefield: I Can Activate Dual Talents -
Chapter 84 - 82, all too weak (asking for the first order)
Chapter 84: 82, all too weak (asking for the first order)
On the arena, the duel between Shang Wenming and Lou Yueyu resembled an adult bullying a child.
Lu Lin felt rather helpless watching it. Shao Xiaolong had just promised a "fair fight," but this seems like a joke, Lu Lin thought. How could a battle between a Star Core Warrior and an ordinary person be called a fair fight? Even the weakest Star Core Warrior couldn’t be matched by an ordinary person, even if that ordinary person had undergone professional boxing training.
However, Lu Lin could tell from Lou Yueyu’s and Shang Wenming’s movements that they had both trained diligently and possessed some natural talent as boxers. If the two had comparable abilities, the outcome would still be uncertain. Now, there really was no need for this duel.
Lu Lin shook his head. Once this is over, I should leave quickly, he thought. There’s no real excitement to see here.
On the arena, Lou Yueyu, after two consecutive attacks failed to affect his opponent, jumped back to create some distance.
He already knew Shang Wenming’s details. Shang Wenming had awakened his Gold Element Talent, and the skill he had comprehended was most likely Hardening. This greatly increased his body’s defense. An ordinary person’s attacks couldn’t harm Shang Wenming at all.
But Lou Yueyu didn’t believe it. In Federation history, there had been cases of ordinary people defeating Star Core Warriors. However, that required extensive arrangements and preparation, catching the Star Core Warrior off guard to even have a chance at defeating or killing them.
A Star Core Warrior’s strength, speed, and mental reaction speed all increased based on their Star Vein Refinement Degree. The higher the level of the Star Core Warrior, the stronger they became. Historically, the highest-level Star Core Warrior defeated by an ordinary person was only a Level 2, First Stage. Against anyone stronger than that, ordinary people stood no chance.
The Shang Wenming before him was just a newly awakened Martial Artist; Lou Yueyu believed he definitely had a chance. He employed the shuffling footwork taught by Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall, his eyes carefully observing, trying to find Shang Wenming’s weakness.
But Shang Wenming, on the other side, wouldn’t give him that chance.
"Lou Yueyu, you have one move left."
"What’s wrong? You’re not going to give up, are you?" Shang Wenming taunted, his demeanor relaxed.
"Forget it. Let me end this boring fight."
As Shang Wenming spoke, he lunged towards Lou Yueyu, throwing an ordinary-looking punch.
Lou Yueyu hurriedly blocked. But he only felt a tremendous force crash into his arms.
CRACK!
A faint snapping sound was heard. Lou Yueyu’s eyes reddened with pain. His arms hung limply at his sides. He stumbled back several steps until his back hit the elastic ropes of the arena, finally stopping him.
Lou Yueyu stared at his opponent in horror. He has such great power just after awakening! Star Core Warriors... are terrifying!
The referee standing outside the arena wore a pained expression. He only stepped onto the arena after receiving a glance from Shao Xiaolong.
"This duel... Dragon Tiger Martial Arts Hall... Shang Wenming... wins!"
After the announcement, he quickly went over to Lou Yueyu. Seeing Lou Yueyu’s arms bent unnaturally upwards, his heart ached. Lou Yueyu is such a hardworking kid, the referee thought. This past year, even without Guan Pingchao pushing him, he’d practice at the Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall for two to three hours every day. He always dragged his exhausted body home slowly. But fate is so unfair! Such a hardworking child, and in the end, he couldn’t achieve Awakening.
"Tsk, tsk. This Guan Pingchao always talks a big game, but the disciple he taught is nothing special."
"The Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall was formidable over a decade ago, but the Guan family is declining with each generation. Ever since Sir Guan went to the Alien star, Guan Pingchao has been running the Martial Arts Hall into the ground. Even his own daughter doesn’t want to learn martial arts! Tsk, tsk. What do you make of that, eh? You tell me."
"His daughter? She’s got a good figure and looks, alright. But why do I get the feeling this girl doesn’t look like Guan Pingchao at all? Could it be... hehehe."
The numerous disciples around Shao Xiaolong were now openly ridiculing the Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall. They even resorted to personal attacks.
Guan Yue was furious. The others from Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall were also furious.
But what could they do? Among fighters, fists did the talking. Whoever had the strongest fist was the Boss. Whoever got knocked down had to swallow the bitter pill; no one cared what a loser thought or said.
"Anyone from Dragon Tiger Martial Arts Hall! Who dares to fight me?"
Finally, unable to bear the taunts and ridicule any longer, someone from Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall stepped forward to issue a challenge.
Shao Xiaolong squinted at the man, then looked towards Shang Wenming on the arena. "Well, Wenming? Care to spar a few rounds with this brother?"
"No problem, Master," Shang Wenming replied, then looked at the man who had stepped onto the arena. "That last one was just child’s play. I didn’t even break a sweat. Good thing someone else stepped up. You can be my warm-up."
"People of Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall!" Shang Wenming declared. "Today, I, Shang Wenming, represent Dragon Tiger Martial Arts Hall on this arena! If any of you want a piece of me, line up and wait your turn. I’ll take you on one by one, ha!"
"You," Shang Wenming said, pointing to the previous referee, his expression arrogant, chin tilted upwards as he spoke, "continue as referee."
"Alright," the referee agreed, stepping onto the arena once more.
"Duel... begin!"
The words had barely left his lips, and before the referee could even step down from the arena, he felt a gust of wind rush past him. Shang Wenming had charged his opponent the instant the referee finished speaking!
BANG!
He threw a punch. Still a completely unadorned, straightforward punch.
Even though his opponent was mentally prepared and had adopted a defensive stance, he still couldn’t withstand Shang Wenming’s attack. The man shot backward like a cannonball. His back slammed into the elastic ropes of the arena. The tremendous force propelled him forward again, and, losing his balance, the man ended up sprawled in a full prostration before Shang Wenming.
"Mr. Dong!"
"Mr. Dong!"
Below the arena, everyone from Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall cried out anxiously.
Mr. Dong’s face turned pale. He wanted to roll over and say he was fine, but the air was caught in his throat, unable to come up or go down.
The referee helped Mr. Dong up, announced Shang Wenming’s victory in the duel, and then helped Mr. Dong off the arena.
Compared to Lou Yueyu’s broken arms, Mr. Dong was clearly in better shape. Even so, his arms and shoulders were red and swollen; he needed urgent medical attention.
Shao Xiaolong wore a smile, seemingly his only expression.
Having won two matches on the arena, Shang Wenming was incredibly arrogant.
"Members of Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall, you were pretty arrogant, weren’t you?"
"Weren’t you always coming to our Martial Arts Hall to provoke us and challenge the dojo last year?"
"What’s wrong now? Where’s your arrogance? Where’s your defiant spirit?"
"Come on, come on! I’m just a newbie who’s only been boxing for one year. Anyone want to come up and teach me a lesson?"
"I will!"
Seeing Shang Wenming’s unbearable arrogance, someone else couldn’t stand it anymore and leaped onto the arena. This time, they didn’t even wait for a referee. As soon as this person got on the arena, he charged Shang Wenming, attacking recklessly.
Shang Wenming easily blocked a couple of hits.
"Is this how Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall teaches its disciples and students? They don’t even understand basic martial etiquette."
"It seems Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall has truly declined over the years."
"But..." Shang Wenming looked at this person, his tone contemptuous. "Someone like you wouldn’t stand a chance, even with a sneak attack."
POW!
As he spoke, Shang Wenming punched the man in the chest. The man cried out in pain and collapsed to the ground. He couldn’t get up for a long while.
"Who else wants to come up and let me experience the ’lofty techniques’ of Wild Kill Martial Arts Hall?"
"Come on!"
Below the arena, Guan Yue’s communicator rang again. It was Guan Pingchao, still calling from the Monitoring Room.
"Daughter, your Dad is begging you..."
