Chapter 304 - CHAPTER 304: BATTLING THE ABSOLUTES

Finding Kate locked in a room, Greg placed her inside his independent space. But just as he was about to retreat silently… an eye had opened.

It tore through the cloak of darkness—an absolute gaze.

He was seen.

Well, since he was caught already, he decided to go out in style.

If he was going to be exposed, he'd do it beside Sabbah, like a storm waiting to be unleashed.

"Kate is safe. We just need to find a way to escape," Greg whispered, his piercing gaze locked directly on Arthur — the absolute who had detected his presence.

"Perfect," Tunde cracked his knuckles with a grin that didn't reach his eyes, "no need to stress ourselves looking for him anymore."

Greg didn't flinch. Instead, he stepped forward with calculated calmness, raising his voice enough for all the absolutes to hear.

"Before you hungry dogs lash out at me, I'd love to ask just one question. Why are you all really after me? Spare me the pathetic excuse of 'you killed our friends.' That narrative's an insult to your intelligence. Their deaths were clearly staged, any one of you could figure that out with half a brain. But no, you chose to blame me—because that's easier, more convenient. I want to know why. Especially when the reason any of you can even stand before me now... is because of my mother."

"I don't have time to listen to your yapping!" Lancelot barked and launched a spear made of pure light toward Greg, his patience clearly worn thin.

"Watch out!" Sabbah moved to form a thick blanket of darkness to intercept the spear, but Greg remained still — his eyes calm, devoid of fear.

"Devour," he whispered coldly.

A vortex formed from the convergence of Darkness and Death, swirling with cosmic pressure. It sucked in the spear like a ravenous void.

[You have consumed a spear made completely of the Absolute Concept of Spear...]

Greg's lips curved into a grin. That was exactly what he had hoped for.

The spear was constructed from Lancelot's very concept — and he'd just eaten it.

He wouldn't have succeeded without Darkness containing its essence, allowing Death to dissolve and consume it completely.

"What was that?" Lancelot muttered in disbelief, unable to mask his surprise.

"It seems Daniel was right," Tunde's eyes gleamed with fury, arcs of destruction crackling around his fists. "So, he really does possess an absolute concept. Darkness... no wonder our friends died. That's the proof we needed."

Their killing intent flooded the air, thick enough to crush boulders. Greg stood his ground.

"Escape," he muttered to Sabbah, glancing at the man's battered body. "Kate's safe. Get out of here while I hold them back."

Behind him, a divine clone appeared — Nemesis Blue.

"Go with him," Greg instructed the clone. "He'll need you to access the island."

"No," Sabbah grunted, trying to rise. "I'll stay and buy you time. I can manage that much before I fall."

Greg didn't even turn.

"You're already at death's door, and you won't last a second in this fight. Just go. Besides... you're still useful to me."

Sabbah clenched his jaw, then nodded. He entered the shadow realm, Nemesis Blue following closely behind.

"How dare you!" Tunde roared, unleashing a beam of condensed destruction.

"Devour!" Greg commanded again, forming another wall of shadow that devoured the beam in silence.

"You really just made yourself look foolish," Greg mocked. "Could've just let him go and saved your attack."

Tunde trembled in rage, but Daniel raised a hand.

"Wait."

His voice was strained, his gaze sharp.

"Why did you kill them? They were supposed to protect you. So why?"

Greg rolled his eyes.

"Give it a rest. I didn't kill them. Whoever did just wasted devour candidates. Tch."

"Can we deal with him now?" Lens asked, eyes narrowed. Daniel gave a short nod.

"I'll track Sabbah," Morganna volunteered, summoning a shadow cat through a glowing sigil.

"No, you don't." Greg's voice turned venomous.

"No one can enter the shadow realm except me."

He used dragon tongue, the command draining almost all of his mana.

He downed several mana potions immediately, a fresh curtain of darkness forming around him.

Morganna frowned.

"I can't access the shadow realm. He cast a restriction spell using just his words..."

"Dragon's tongue," Merlin muttered. "He has dragon blood. A pure one at that."

Greg smirked.

"Don't stare so hard, grandpas and grandmas. It's rude."

"Tsk. Annoying bastard," Hemsworth cursed under his breath.

"If we can't get Sabbah," Rothschild said coldly, "then let's erase this brat. He's more dangerous than we expected."

"Lightning!" Merlin cast a spell — a lightning dragon formed midair and lunged at Greg's shadow veil.

It didn't even make a sound.

The curtain devoured it whole.

Greg didn't react. He sat under the shield, calmly sipping another potion, pride swelling in his chest.

"Have I created the ultimate defense?" he whispered, amused at the thought.

Another idea clicked into place.

"I should tank more attacks and farm some more concepts before I dip."

"Lightning!" Merlin cast again — but this time at Lens.

Lens wasn't surprised. A mirror appeared before him, reflecting the dragon back with double intensity.

The bolt of lightning was massive now, easily ten times stronger — no longer an ancient dragon, but a king of storms roaring across the battlefield.

"I'll offer you a million dollars to lower your shield," Rothschild called out, activating his absolute concept of persuasion.

Greg blinked.

His shield... flickered.

Not shattered — but flickered, as though his own will had allowed it.

"Urgh!"

The dragon struck.

Greg was blasted off his feet, crashing across the stone ground, blood pouring from his mouth.

Greg coughed and stood, his body broken... and healing just as fast.

"Hah... my ultimate defense... broken faster than I expected." He grinned bitterly.

"That's what I get for bragging in front of monsters."
