Evil dragon has a warm heart -
Chapter 686 - 686 684 Lions Eagles Shells and Mountains
Chapter 686: Chapter 684: Lions, Eagles, Shells, and Mountains Chapter 686: Chapter 684: Lions, Eagles, Shells, and Mountains With the imprint of a green leaf on the back of his fluttery hand, Russell saw the Ancient Dragon of Freedom, Saiban, turn into a breeze and envelop him.
In an instant, the play of light and shadows changed, and he found himself in the Starlight Duchy, atop the ruins of the Starlight Volcano.
Silently, without so much as a ripple.
The breeze that enveloped him then took on the appearance of the adorable Elf Dragon again, “Wherever there is wind, I can reach.”
Just as quietly as the Ancient Dragon of Freedom had come into being, it transported Russell in the same silent way. There was no grand, shocking spectacle, nor did it disturb anyone other than Russell.
Freedom isn’t noisy; it’s a natural unity.
“This feeling is really wonderful, Saiban. Now I believe that you are a true Ancient Dragon!” Russell exclaimed with admiration, “You, Ice Cream, Darimu, the three Ancient Dragons, along with myself, we can surely triumph over the Eternal Seven Elders when they strike!”
He rode Sacred Unicorn Polly, with Saiban by his side, swiftly flying towards the foot of the Starlight Volcano, where over a hundred thousand Starlight Refugees were farming.
Their lives had returned to the pattern before the volcano’s silence.
Quiet, tranquil.
“Ah, Your Majesty Russell!” Russell’s arrival immediately triggered exclamations from the Starlight Refugees, who then knelt and prostrated themselves on the ground.
“Please, everyone, rise,” Russell said with a supportive gesture, then signaled for the stewards of the refugees to gather everyone, “I have said before, as long as you hold onto hope, hope will certainly exist and arrive.”
He pointed to Saiban beside him, “Now is the time for hope to arrive!”
All the Starlight Refugees held their breath.
They did not know Saiban’s identity, but seeing his magnificent figure, they could tell this little one was definitely extraordinary and mysterious. And anyone who dared to directly gaze at Saiban would feel an inherent pressure.
This was the intangible dragon’s might.
Saiban said nothing, merely flapping its wings gently, as Russell continued, “It is because you held onto hope that you called upon the Ancient Dragon of Freedom, Saiban Nia. At this moment, it has come to bring you hope.”
He paused for a moment.
Russell spoke aloud, “Everyone, extend your right hand… if you don’t have a right hand, stretch out your left hand, if you have neither, just extend a leg or a foot… Now open your palms with the center facing upwards.”
Old and young, up and down.
Over a hundred thousand Starlight Refugees all extended their right hands.
Seeing this, Saiban flapped its six leafy wings gently, a gentle breeze blowing from between its wings, instantly brushing past the faces of the hundred thousand Starlight Refugees. Then, in the palm of every refugee, a vibrant green seed materialized.
“This is the seed of hope, the seed of freedom.” Russell’s voice was calm, yet everyone could hear him clearly, “After returning, plant it and care for it tenderly, water it diligently, and wait for it to sprout!”
The Starlight Refugees stared in amazement at the seeds in their palms.
Russell continued, “As long as it can sprout, you can use it to fly to Amber Dreamland.”
Upon hearing this, the refugees who were initially just astonished burst into a massive wave of cries. Everyone looked at the seed in their palm in disbelief, holding it tightly, fearing it might slip away.
“This is my promise to you. Go on, plant it, let it sprout!”
With that, Russell waved his hand, and Saiban turned into a breeze that once again enveloped him and transported him to the next destination.
In just a few short days, he traveled back and forth among the ruins of eleven grand duchies, distributing millions of seeds that led to Amber Dreamland. The refugees who received the seeds treasured them like precious gems.
Indeed, they were treasures.
“Your Majesty Russell, is it true that you have nurtured the third Ancient Dragon?” Kings and Dukes from various nations sent thunderous inquiries.
“I merely helped the Ancient Dragon of Freedom come forth from the rules, it’s not quite the same as nurturing.” Russell humbly replied, “Apart from the Dreamscape Ancient Dragon, Vengeance and Freedom both have always existed.”
A Grand Duke sent a private message in thunderous tones, “Your Majesty Russell, are there any more seeds of freedom? Can my nation’s people use the seed of freedom to enter the Volcanic Realm?”
“Yes,” Russell replied, “but only those with a sincere heart can germinate the seed… Not until a crisis erupts would many be willing to abandon their current lives and choose to restart in the Amber Dreamscape.”
However splendid the Amber Dreamscape may be, it is still a wilderness.
Although the Dragon Sleep Continent has its cycles of Warm Season and Ice Ages, and the threat of Frost Snow Giants, the people here have access to abundant resources for production, and few are willing to give all this up to break new ground in the Amber Dreamscape.
“That’s good to hear,” sighed the Grand Duke who had asked Russell. “Although the people are reluctant to go to the Amber Dreamscape now, I think one day they will have no other choice but to take refuge within the Amber Dreamscape.”
“Why so pessimistic?”
“It’s not pessimism, Your Majesty Russell,” the Grand Duke countered, “the Giants’ Eternal Frost Star Plan has already given us the answer. The Frost Star is saving itself, and we of the Dragon Star must do likewise. The Amber Dreamscape is the only answer, isn’t it?”
This Grand Duke lamented, “The rifts on our country’s border have already exceeded twenty kilometers in width, at this rate, the fragmentation of Dragon Star is inevitable. Better to enter the Amber Dreamscape and start cultivating the land in advance.”
“Yes, the Amber Dreamscape is the future,” responded Russell.
After the private conversation with the Grand Duke ended with the sound of thunder, Russell quickly activated the green leaf mark on the back of his right hand. A gust of liberating wind carried him to the edge of the Blizzard Volcano Oasis, where there was also a vast rift.
The Demon-search Tower had already detected the signal of the Frost Snow Giants moving within the rift.
He had come to investigate
…The Eternal Frost Star, the Immortal Thrones.
These were seven colossal thrones carved atop the ice and snow, each standing a hundred meters tall and fusing with the glacier behind them. The thrones were arranged in a circle, forming the supreme authority over Frost Star.
Upon the seven thrones sat the legendary Frost Titans of the Giant Troll Clan—the Eternal Seven Elders.
“How many Frost Giants have successfully evolved?” one of the Frost Titans asked with a cold inquiry.
Under the dim illumination.
It stood a hundred meters tall, its skin a deep shade of blue, and its eyes were profound and pitch-black, a Frost Wood Ring embedded on one of its tusks. Unlike ordinary Frost Giants garbed in animal hides, it wore an ice-white robe, appearing even more sacred and majestic.
In its hand, it held a massive Frost Wood Staff, the tip carved with a massive ice-and-snow gem in the shape of a lion’s head.
“Lion Elder, the situation is not optimistic,” replied an aging Frost Giant, prostrating on the ground, “The Vanguard Officers have limited their harvest on the Dragon Sleep Continent, and the development of the Snow Giants has been restricted.”
“Why is this?” came an ethereal voice from another throne, “After spreading our influence over the Dragon Sleep Continent for ten thousand years, have we still not extracted enough vital essence to even cultivate a Snow Giant King?”
The Frost Titan on the throne, similar in appearance and attire to the Lion Elder, differed only in that the ice-and-snow gem atop his Frost Wood Staff was carved in the shape of a bird’s head.
“Eagle Elder, the resistance from Dragon Sleep Continent is more intense than we anticipated,” replied the aged Frost Giant with a note of defeat.
“Frost Star has developed for eons before Dragon Sleep Continent, which was still young. We anchored and influenced it early on. Are we still incapable of eliminating all obstacles and harnessing everything on the Dragon Sleep Continent for our own use?” Another Frost Titan chimed in.
The snake-headed ice-and-snow gem was carved atop its Frost Wood Staff.
The aged Frost Giant shook his head: “Shell Elder, everything was normal initially, we had absolute dominion over Dragon Sleep Continent. However, a supreme being called Russell Amber Dream emerged on Dragon Sleep Continent, disrupting everything.”
“Russell Amber Dream?”
“Yes, he is an Ancient Giant Dragon Knight, a being as powerful as you, the Eternal Seven Elders,” said the aged Frost Giant, “He has awakened the power of teleportation for Dragon Sleep Continent, uniting the dragons as one.”
“It seems that many unforeseen changes have occurred during our millennia of hibernation,” declared the highest positioned Frost Titan, standing up from his throne and his Frost Wood Staff with a mountain peak carved on the ice-and-snow gem.
He cast his gaze upward.
Above, a massive rift loomed, with dark clouds obscuring the light.
The aged Frost Giant, gazing at the back of this Frost Titan, slowly spoke: “Mountain Elder, there hasn’t been much unexpected, just this one—Russell Amber Dream. But this single anomaly has changed everything.”
“Then we shall restore order!” Mountain Elder turned slowly to face the aged Frost Giant, “Go, summon the newly elevated Frost Giants, suppress this Russell Amber Dream, and let everything return to its rightful course!”
