Chapter 672 - 672 670 Snow Soul Sacrifice
Chapter 672: Chapter 670: Snow Soul Sacrifice Chapter 672: Chapter 670: Snow Soul Sacrifice Two worlds came into contact, and the Dragon Sleep Continent was full of breaches, allowing countless Frost Snow Giants and even weaker giants to pour in continuously.
The battle unfolded along the borderlines of the nations.
It was a fierce and massive war, with trolls sweeping in from all directions, opening countless battlefields at the same time. This forced the human kingdoms to be unable to assemble their forces, and the Dragon Squad also had to fight their own battles to defend their nations.
The situation was dire.
Only Russell’s battle shined brightly as he dashed back and forth around the Shadowflame Kingdom, hunting Frost Snow Giants.
The Shadowflame Dragon and the Little Dream Dragon were almost overstuffed.
“Your Majesty, the Demon-search Tower shows at least a dozen points around the border, belonging to the Frost Titans. But these points move very fast and keep changing location, making it very hard to lock on directly.”
The warning came from the portable Thunder Sound Machine.
“Give me a general direction,” Russell said to the Thunder Sound Machine, then received several coordinate points.
He used the longitude and latitude from his old Earth home and applied the same coordinate system to the Dragon Sleep Continent.
He quickly maneuvered around the Shadowflame Kingdom following the coordinates, but under the Demon-search Tower’s search, he was exceptionally conspicuous, and his power was equally noticeable to the Frost Snow Giants.
Before he got close, the Frost Snow Giants would swiftly flee, and once Russell left, they would loiter again.
This happened several times.
Russell quickly realized, “These Frost Snow Giants are not truly aiming to attack my kingdom, they want to tie me down!”
He was the strongest human warrior.
The Frost Snow Giants couldn’t resist, so they could only tie Russell down while looking for a breakthrough in other countries.
This was an open strategy, and even though Russell understood it, it was very hard to react in time.
“It’s a pity that only I can summon the Revenge Ancient Dragon and only I hold the Rule Power to awaken Darimu!” He glanced at the rib bracelet on his wrist, “And even if I summoned it, it wouldn’t be of any use, the Frost Snow Giants simply don’t engage in battle with me!”
He frowned.
Russell quickly changed his strategy, “Since the Frost Snow Giants won’t fight me, then I’ll eradicate the Snow Ghosts and Snow Demons to relieve the pressure on the borders!”
“Split your forces, Russell,” the Shadowflame Dragon suggested, “Just defend the Shadowflame Kingdom and see how the other countries fare in battle.”
It said coldly, “Although humans have established the Amber Council and elected you as the chairperson, ultimately, they’re each playing their own game, with no real unity. It’s time to truly unite them as one under your leadership!”
“That makes sense,” Russell narrowed his eyes.
The Amber Council was indeed established for humans to group together for warmth, but from the very beginning, this organization was full of balance and compromise.
Even though Russell was the most powerful among humans, not many kings or grand dukes wanted to see Russell ascend to Emperor, standing above them. They only thought about keeping their own piece of land safe and sovereign.
“Moreover,” the Shadowflame Dragon went on, “Don’t you think there are too many human states, spread too thin?”
“I understand the dispersion, but what do you mean by too many?”
“Frost Star and Dragon Star are both leaves of the cosmic tree, so why can Frost Star plunder Dragon Star for ten thousand years? Is it because Frost Star is too strong, or is Dragon Star too weak? Shadowflame has observed over the years and found only one reason—Dragon Star is too fragmented.”
In the eyes of the Shadowflame Dragon, even though the Dragon Sleep Continent was suppressed by the Snowfield, its strength was in no way weaker than that of Frost Star.
The dragons were mighty, and they had the cooperation of Knights.
Unless the legendary Frost Titans descended, it would be very difficult for the Frost Snow Giants to win, and now that Russell had become an Ancient Giant Dragon Knight, even if the legendary Frost Titans truly descended, it would at best be an even match.
Since Dragon Star was not weaker than Frost Star, why was it that the human states on the Dragon Sleep Continent were currently being overshadowed by Frost Snow Giants?
“Strength spread thin is like a net, easily torn apart, but a clenched fist is the strongest strike!” The Shadowflame Dragon tempted sagely, “Russell, it is time for you to show courage and make a decision!”
Russell closed his eyes, the biting wind still brushing against his face.
He contemplated in his mind, also integrating the opinions of his contracted partners like Polly and Hape.
Sacred Unicorn Polly readily agreed, “His Highness Shadowflame’s analysis is very accurate. Instead of being spread across more than seventy nations and tiring ourselves with constant battles, it is better to abandon some of the countries and merge the populations.”
“Let’s all hide in the Amber Dreamland, leaving the dragons to fight. After purging the Snowfield, we can rebuild the nation,” Harpy Dragonbeast Hape also voiced agreement.
“I second that!” Nightmare Beast Senbula responded.
“I second it, too,” Ouroboros echoed.
“Then it’s decided,” Russell did not hesitate much. The Shadowflame Dragon had lived longer and its suggestion was indeed to the point, “It’s just that by doing this, the sacrifice of each nation will be greater. Many will die.”
The Shadowflame Dragon spoke coldly, “Many deaths do not matter. As long as the dragons survive and hide in the Volcanic Realm preserving hope, there will come a day when we can start anew and thrive. Russell, you must learn to let go!”
To let go is to gain.
This principle was actually provided by Russell during a casual chat with the Shadowflame Dragon, and now it was adeptly applied by the Shadowflame Dragon.
“Ha ha, I am not just kind-hearted,” after Russel made the decision, he felt much lighter, “Well then, that settles it. Polly, Senbula, and Uroboros, deploy your forces to defend the borders and call for Ice Cream if you meet danger!”
Pausing briefly, he continued to instruct, “Hape will stay in Red Castle to support from the center, while I and Shadowflame will strike when opportunity arises!”
…
“Russell Fluorescent Fungus has retreated back to the Bat Cave!”
In the outskirts of the Shadowflame Kingdom, on the Snowfield, a skinny and a fat Frost Giant stood together.
They were crafting an Array at the edge, and countless snowflakes formed a geographic representation of the Shadowflame Kingdom, as vivid and clear as a 3D hologram, with an image of a Flying Dragon appearing above a volcanic landscape.
“Be careful. He might go to other Bat Caves to help those big bats at any time.”
“If he goes to help the other big bats, that’s perfect. After all, these Giants are slaves of the hundred-part sect, meant to be sacrificed to conjure the Snow Soul for the ice-sealed Dragon Sleep Continent,” sneered the skinny Frost Giant, “Once he leaves, we will ambush this ant of a nation!”
The fat Frost Giant said somberly, “Be cautious. Let the Snow Giants invade; our mission isn’t to die here.”
“To ensure the Eternal Frost Star Plan succeeds, death cannot be avoided,” retorted the skinny Frost Giant coldly, “You don’t think that there’s a place for all of us Giants in the plan, do you? Impossible!”
“But don’t you want to live and see the new world?”
“Who wouldn’t? But it’s enough for me if my clan members can. My closest brother, Pan, died by Russell Fluorescent Fungus’s hands. I just want to kill him!”
Moments later.
The image representing Russell disappeared from the magical screen.
Meanwhile, the two Frost Giants received news that Russell was in the Molten Fire Duchy, clearing out a Giant Troll invasion.
“Perfect, he’s finally left!” the skinny Frost Giant gripped his Frostwood Weapon tightly, “I’m really going to invade this Bat Cave!”
He charged towards the border of the Shadowflame Kingdom with great strides.
Upon reaching the border, he immediately deployed his own Snow Giant, launching an assault on the Volcanic Oasis, which was covered with a layer of ice.
However, he soon discovered a small snake blocking his path.
It was an earthy yellow little snake, small only in relative terms, and the skinny Frost Giant knew it was Russell’s contracted partner. Grinning viciously, he raised his Frostwood Weapon, while casting the Frost Domain, he smashed it down hard on Uroboros.
But in the next moment.
The sinister smile on his face froze, for behind Uroboros there emerged an amber-hued phantom of a Dreamscape Ancient Dragon.
“Roar!”
