Chapter 612: Chapter 611: The Alliance of He Da (Additional Release, Request for Monthly Tickets) Chapter 612: Chapter 611: The Alliance of He Da (Additional Release, Request for Monthly Tickets) The third head, the Starlight Giant Dragon, had fallen…
This message arrived four days later after King Debuloye led his legion to the Starlight Duchy and had repaired Thunder Sound Station.
The entire Starlight Duchy was in a ghastly state; to guard the Starlight Giant Dragon, the Flying Dragon Knights and the Knight Regiment were nearly wiped out around the volcano. The capital was destroyed, and the Grand Duke’s palace was almost entirely razed to the ground. Only a few women from the Dragonblood Family survived.
“I plan to remain in the Starlight Duchy, first to restore order and calm the populace, awaiting relocation,” said King Debuloye via Thunder Voice.
The tragic spectacle of the Starlight Duchy made many Grand Dukes without Dragon Knights feel threatened.
“This was just two Frost Snow Giants leading the Frost Snow Legion. If three, four, or more gather, even the kingdoms might struggle to resist.”
“Throughout history, there has never been an assembly of more than three Snow Giants.”
“I have observed that when two Snow Giants are present on the snowfield at the same time, they disrupt the area’s power significantly. If three gather, that disruptive force will tear apart the snowfield… Without the Snow Giants, Frost Snow Giants are less of a concern!”
In terms of power levels, the Frost Giant and Snow Giant are quite similar.
But Snow Giants make excellent front-line meat shields; without Snow Giants blocking them, the Frost Giants and Snow Trolls have difficulty defending against Dragon surprise attacks—Frost Snow Giants resemble mages with strong offense but weak defense, and could be easily annihilated in a Dragon assault.
“Frost Snow Giants are indeed easy to kill,” discussed Russell in the Thunder Voice Conference.
Back when he was still the Dragon Domain Lord, he had, with his swordsmanship, slain Frost Giant Ge—without the Snow Giants, Frost Giants were no match for him; he could covertly slip into Gloomy Dreamland and kill them all.
“King Ares, has the Tri-Dragon Sacrifice Method not succeeded yet?”
“Almost, almost!”
“Before you guarantee success, if it’s possible, we Grand Dukes will naturally persuade the Dragons to hope for success in achieving kingdom-level Dragons,” said a Grand Duke via Thunder Voice. “The survival of mankind is what’s most crucial!”
Moments later, King Ares sent a Thunder Voice message: “The Fiery Dragon is still comprehending, but… please be prepared, the Tri-Dragon Sacrifice Method might… not work.”
Hope was shattered once again.
The Grand Dukes were deeply unsettled.
A Grand Duke sent via Thunder Voice: “Since the Tri-Dragon Sacrifice Method is ineffective, we can only rely on the Dragon Scale Towers. Hope for sincere cooperation between countries, opening communication between Dragon Scale Towers, aiding each other; only then does humanity have a chance to breathe!”
“The current issue is that opening the Dragon Scale Towers requires the Dragons to descend personally, and traversing the snowfields is a big problem.”
“If this won’t work and that won’t work, are we to sit and wait for death?”
“In my view, the only way out now is to strike first—fishing, ambushing, eliminating the Frost Giants first, then consider retreating to the Volcanic Oasis. Otherwise, allowing the Frost Giants to gather on the snowfield will eventually lead to each country being picked apart.”
“Too few Dragons!”
“If Grand Duke Russell had been born a thousand years earlier, perhaps he could have perfected the path of the Phantom Dragons, giving humanity an additional batch of Phantom Dragon Knights.”
“Difficult; the Dragon Domain Lord and Phantom Dragon Knight cultivation experiences shared by Grand Duke Russell offer almost no shortcuts. Even for us wanting to train a batch of Dragon Domain Lords is extremely tough, not to mention advancing to Phantom Dragon Knight.”
“Grand Duke Russell, can you simplify and improve?” asked a Grand Duke.
Russell quickly responded, “I’m trying, but please don’t hold out too much hope; my achievement relies heavily on the innate talents of the Phantom Beasts.”
Russell was well aware of this; though he and Sacred Unicorn Polly complemented each other, fundamentally, it was Polly’s exceptional intelligence and sensitive nature that were key to its advancement to Pseudo-Dragon.
His contracted partners knew too well how to strive.
“Regardless, please keep trying, Grand Duke Russell. Phantom Dragon Knights are still Dragon Flame Tier strong players. Facing the descending Frost Star, having one more Phantom Dragon Knight adds a sliver of strength!”
“I will.”
Russell felt a heavy burden on his shoulders.
Frost Star had descended, Frost Snow Giants had risen, and dragons had perished one after another—even the sanctuary at Volcanic Oasis had been breached. It felt as if the Warm Age, built by mankind over five thousand years, could be obliterated at any moment, returning them to the Dark Ages.
Perhaps even more brutal than the Dark Ages.
The Dark Ages didn’t have so many Frost Giants and Snow Trolls, nor had the legendary Frost Titan even been born; if it were to arise…
“Phew!” Russell took a deep breath, “Polly, can we improve the training regimen for the Phantom Dragon Knight?”
“I don’t know, Russell,” Polly responded.
“Let’s try it first. Next, I will cooperate well with Hape to see if we can find a shortcut for the Phantom Dragon Knight while advancing Hape’s career,” declared Russell, clenching his fist, determined to uphold the responsibility of a leader.
In the past, towering figures like King Ares held up the sky.
But now, it felt like King Ares and other Dragon Knights weren’t tall enough to confront the rise of the Frost Snow Giants, similarly helpless.
“Maybe, when the Ice Cream Volcano erupts, I might become the tallest person in Dragon Sleep Continent!” he silently thought.
Such immense pressure even made breathing difficult.
But he didn’t back down, instead becoming more invigorated, “Polly, no matter how tough the times, we must face the challenges head-on!”
“Right!”
“I, Russell Fluorescent Fungus, chosen by this world and brought here, must have an important mission.” That moment, Russell picked up the savior’s script, ready to pen his own epic, “I will create a new era!”
“I believe it, we all believe it,” Polly softly responded.
…
Meanwhile.
In the snowfields near the Molten Fire Duchy.
Shuang Da led his few Snow Troll subordinates through a long journey, coming here to meet the ruler, Shuang He.
Two Frost Giants met on a snow-covered mountain.
“Da Pioneer Officer, why leave your hunting grounds to come here?” Shuang He asked calmly, seated on a Snow Giant’s shoulder.
Shuang Da, being rather large, stood shoulder to shoulder with his Snow Giant, looked up at Shuang He: “For Frost Star, and for the survival of our people, I plan to forge a mutually beneficial alliance with you.”
“What do you mean?”
“In my hunting grounds, there are three giant dragons, and I’m willing to share one with you if you help me hunt these three dragons.”
“What about Officer Ge?”
“He’s dead.”
“A waste,” Shuang He coldly stared at Shuang Da, “But one dragon isn’t enough. To warrant my participation, I need two!”
“You’re far too greedy, Officer Heda.”
“I am succeeding, while you are stagnating,” Shuang He gave a faint smile, his fangs quivering. “In the Eternal Star plan, my people and I already have a seat. By the time Heavenly Track stabilizes, and the legions sweep through, you’ll no longer have the chance to vie for a position at Eternal Star.”
Pause for a moment, Shuang He pointed at the dozen Snow Trolls behind Shuang Da and then at the fifty behind him, “Cold Frost Warriors grow stronger with me, and dwindle with you.”
Holding back his anger, Shuang Da said, “One and a half, we split it equally—that’s my final offer, Officer Heda!”
“Ha ha ha ha ha ha!” Shuang He laughed heartily. “Alright, I’ll give you that chance—one half for each house!”
