Evil dragon has a warm heart
Chapter 522 - 522 520 The Name of Russell

Chapter 522: Chapter 520 The Name of Russell Chapter 522: Chapter 520 The Name of Russell She cut her way through, whether it was Snow Demons or Snow Ghosts, they were all just cannon fodder before Mr. Russell, not warranting a second sword.

He was now, in effect, a human-shaped dragon.

When the dragon took matters into its own hands, even the Snow Demons riding Snow Beasts, they were but a matter of an extra sword stroke or two.

“Every time there’s an uprising, I squelch it!” After making a round along the periphery of his territory in the snowfields, Mr. Russell forcefully suppressed the Snow Demon uprising and, grabbing a large bag full of Ice Pellet Pearls and Ice Soul Pearls as spoils of war, happily returned home.

Though Shuang Da didn’t personally come to offer warmth, every time the Snow Demons revolted, it meant his price soared.

“So many Ice Soul Pearls and Ice Pellet Pearls, how much snow cigar smoke would I have to sell to make this back!” Mr. Russell was in high spirits, “All the hard work Niko the little Tobacco Sprite does farming tobacco doesn’t compare to my one trip to the snowfields.”

Of course.

The Snow Demon uprisings didn’t happen all the time, whereas the spirit farming was two seasons a year without rest, one was a windfall, the other steady income.

He returned to Cigar Castle.

Mr. Russell didn’t dismount from Black Oil Dragon Ross but simply tossed the bag down: “Morris, store this away!”

“Yes, Sir!” Butler Morris, beaming with joy, picked up the heavy bag, nearly straining his back.

Mr. Russell patted Ross’s neck.

The Flying Dragon Knight soared back into the sky, heading straight for Fluorescent Castle. Ros the Clay Dragon was coiled on the top of the tower, glaring fiercely at Ross’s arrival; it didn’t like Mr. Russell and, by association, loathed Ross as well.

But Ross didn’t care at all, landing directly on top of a different tower to rest with its eyes closed.

“Mr. Russell, you’re back.” The meticulous Carter, bowed and greeted Mr. Russell with a smile.

“Is Father at home?”

“Mr. Luo Man is reading in the study.”

“And Mother?”

“Lady has gone to the small castle in town, to play cards with the old lady, Lady Roby, and Lady Clara,” replied Carter, ever since Mrs. Roby arrived, the mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, and aunts had formed a regular card game group.

“What about my older brother?” Mr. Russell asked as he walked through the door.

“Mr. Roland and his wife are currently visiting serfs in the country estate.”

“Hmm,” Mr. Russell stroked his chin, feeling something was missing, and it took a while before he suddenly realized, “Almost forgot, where’s Lola?”

“Miss Lola went with the Lady to the small castle too.”

Soon, Mr. Russell arrived at the castle’s study, knocked and entered, only to find Mr. Luo Man engrossed in the latest edition of the manor journal.

The most recent issue for December.

“You’ve come.” Mr. Luo Man nodded, “On the third row of the bookshelf, there are a few bottles of Night Dew Wine. Lord Kant’s estate product, usually a tribute for Red Castle, he brought a box to give to me at the last banquet.”

Mr. Russell immediately took a bottle of Night Dew Wine from the bookshelf compartment and poured a glass each for Mr. Luo Man and himself.

“Father, did you sense the uprising on the snowfields?” Mr. Russell asked, sipping the red wine that he didn’t find particularly tasty.

“An uprising on the snowfields?” Mr. Luo Man frowned, taking out a Frost Snow Cigar from the box on the desk and lighting it, “Another uprising on the snowfields?”

“Yes.”

“Hmm, that’s good news. I’ll take a turn on the snowfields later, to glean some benefits,” Mr. Luo Man said contentedly, puffing on his cigar and sipping wine. Ever since advancing to a Flying Dragon Knight, the snowfields were a source for his taking, “Supplement the family income.”

The whole of Leize’s Cloud Dream Lake, Cloud Dream Canal, and Cloud Dream Ranch were developed with major investment from the Fluorescent Fungi Family, with significant expenditure.

“Be careful, Father. I also encountered Riding Blue Skins on the snowfields,” Mr. Russell said.

Riding Blue Skins were comparable to Flying Dragon Knights, with Snow Demons riding Snow Beasts—a combination not merely the sum of two Snow Demons, but a qualitative leap in power.

“Don’t worry, I and Ros can handle a regular Riding Blue Skin. As for those we can’t, I will ask for your help,” Mr. Luo Man confidently declared, his combat strength growing as his synergy with Ros the Clay Dragon improved. After all, he was a Third-layer Phantom Beast Knight soon to advance to Fourth-layer, his Prime Breath powerful and his Dragonflame growing stronger.

The father and son were chatting.

Suddenly, Mr. Russell felt an urge and swiftly put down his glass, “Father, I have matters to attend to. I must be excused!”

Mr. Luo Man did not inquire what the matter was, as his son Mr. Russell was already a prominent figure of the Shadowflame Duchy, with no need for his concern.

But still, he gave a word of caution, “Take care on your way.”

“I understand, Father!” Russell didn’t exit through the main door, but instead, opened the window of the study and flew out on the wind.

Black Oil Dragon Ross happened to glide by the window, picked up Russell, and activated the Thunderclap Boost and Storm Disturbance, vanishing from Fluorescent Castle like a black bolt of lightning.

Baron Roman stood by the wind-swept window, holding a glass of red wine, silently watching the direction in which Russell had left, and couldn’t help lamenting, “Ross, do you remember the day Russell was born? We were fighting shoulder to shoulder on the snowfield…”

“Chirp.” Ros the Clay Dragon gave a perfunctory response from the top of the tower opposite.

Baron Roman continued to reflect, “It was on that day that we encountered the Riding Blue Skins. Ross, you bravely grappled with the Riding Blue Skin, allowing me to lead the Knight Regiment to retreat… At that moment, I shouted through the storm, ‘One day, my son Russell will definitely replace me and kill all the Riding Blue Skins who invade our territory!'”

Ros tilted his head and said, “I remember you were shouting Roland’s name.”

“No, you’re mistaken, I am quite certain I shouted Russell’s name, especially since it was his birthday that day.” In fact, Baron Roman also couldn’t remember whether he had shouted for Roland or Russell.

Although Russell was born that day, he, being in the snowfield at the time, did not know that Russell would be born on that day.

Besides.

Roland, the six-year-old and very bright firstborn son at that time, was the one whom Baron Roman had in mind as the future heir.

The second son was more like a surprise or, perhaps, insurance for the family.

But the circumstances of that time no longer mattered. Now, Baron Roman firmly believed, “Ross, even back then, I had great expectations for Russell!”

Ros the Clay Dragon rolled his eyes but did not respond.

Cigar Castle.

After Russell had returned, he hurried straight into the Spirit Room, where a dozen Spirit Insects were deep in slumber amongst the climbing racks.

In the center of the round table, Tobacco Sprite Niko was curled up into a ball, lying at the center of the round table.

The Fluorescent Mushroom Bird Rosy and Wheat Elf Hewitt guarded Niko on either side and curiously watched Niko’s unusual condition.

“Niko!”

Russell touched the Tobacco Sprite with his hand.

The Tobacco Sprite, as if in a deep trance, shivered continually, as though enduring a huge pain.

“Evolution!” Russell knew, this was the precursor to evolution.

Every transition to a new tier of life is accompanied by pain, which remains throughout the entire metamorphosis process. Only after overcoming this stage can one step into a higher form of life.

At this moment.

Russell felt conflicted and anxious. He was looking forward to Niko’s evolution, yet he was worried about her potential failure.

He opened his left palm.

The M-shaped mark was still burning. He could only let out a long sigh, “Without the help of Ice Cream, Niko, you have to rely on your own willpower!”

Through their soul bond, he could feel that Niko had a strong will to live, but he couldn’t offer more support. This was a hurdle in Niko’s life, and apart from the source of power, the dragon, there was no other way to help.

But suddenly.

Russell thought of the Shadowflame Dragon, “Would Shadowflame lend a breath of Original Dragon Flame?”

But he quickly shook his head, “No, the Shadowflame Dragon would not lend it, and besides, doing so would reveal the fact that Ice Cream is in slumber. Just in case… Better safe than sorry, there is still a sad barrier of mistrust between me and the Shadowflame Dragon!”

Although there had been ambiguity for a long time.

Russell and the Shadowflame Dragon both knew that they had not reached a deep level of mutual trust, which is to say, distrust still existed between them.

“Niko, oh Niko, you have to rely on yourself!” Russell clenched his fist, flames rising through the gaps between his fingers.

He prepared to stay here with Niko.

Whether the evolution was successful or not, he would be the first to be by Niko’s side.

“Sir.” Butler Morris came over cautiously, “I have sent the servants away. No one is allowed to come close to the Spirit Room without permission.”

Russell nodded, then suddenly thought of something, “Morris, bring me a Frost Snow Cigar.”

He wanted to accompany Niko and smoke a Magic Power cigar!
