Chapter 462 - 462 461 The Second Lucky Four-Leaf Clover
Chapter 462: Chapter 461: The Second Lucky Four-Leaf Clover (Added Chapter, Requesting Monthly Votes) Chapter 462: Chapter 461: The Second Lucky Four-Leaf Clover (Added Chapter, Requesting Monthly Votes) Many skills are associated with the Gloomy Dreamland series.
Magic Power of Light, Magic Power of Voice, Dream Clone, Wraithwalk, Ethereal Dream Escape Skill, Hidden Dream Trace, Dream Time Stop…
Most of which could only be cast by Little Dream Dragons, Unicorn Polly, and Ouroboros.
But there were two skills that Russell too could cast.
One was the previously acquired Ethereal Dream Gaze.
The other was Russell’s newly acquired skill, Ethereal Dream Listening—hearkening the Gloomy Dreamland, was pretty much like activating Magic Power of Voice in the real world, similar to how Ethereal Dream Gaze allowed Magic Power of Light to bloom in reality.
At this moment,
With Ethereal Dream Gaze and Ethereal Dream Listening activated simultaneously, Russell followed the sounds and saw within the largest oak of the forest, a vague and glowing silhouette appearing, rhythmically emitting sounds from it.
“Saiban!”
Russell rejoiced, “Saiban Nia! To think I searched so hard to no avail, and here you are without any effort— you’ve truly come!”
By then, Russell wanted to inquire what Saiban had been up to these past two years.
However, he immediately quelled the impulse, considering first that both Ethereal Dream Gaze and Ethereal Dream Listening were ‘money-burning’ skills, so there was no need to waste Ice Pellet Pearls conversing with the Saiban Fairy; secondly, for fear of startling the prey.
Who knows, upon encountering Saiban during the day, if he might just fly away.
Only within the Gloomy Dreamland, with Little Dream Dragon holding the fort, would the Saiban Fairy probably be willing to speak riddles.
“Calm down, calm down.”
When the one-minute duration of Ethereal Dream Gaze and Ethereal Dream Listening ended, Russell turned and left the oak forest, knowing that Saiban had moved in was enough for him.
He went to spend Dragon Birth Festival at Fluorescent Castle.
After the family reunion ended, Russell didn’t stay at Fluorescent Castle, but returned to his own Cigar Castle. He took a bath, went straight to bed, and in the familiar “ga” cry, Little Dream Dragon and Gloomy Dreamland arrived as expected.
“We won’t wander the snowfield today,” Russell said as he mounted. “Our tasks are two-fold: patrol the territory and search for Saiban.”
“Ga?” Little Dream Dragon was intrigued when Russell mentioned searching for Saiban.
With Unicorn Polly and Ouroboros called, the eight members of the Dream Family swiftly flew towards the oak forest.
Today, most of the oak forest was shrouded within the Gloomy Dreamland.
That included the oak Russell saw the Saiban Fairy inhabit during the day; tonight, upon arrival, he once again saw the familiar fairy outline.
“Saiban!”
Russell yelled out loud.
“Ga!” Little Dream Dragon joined in the yelling, and from its nostrils erupted two jets of flame that were tending towards Dragonflame.
No matter how loud the shouts, the Saiban Fairy couldn’t hear—however, the dragon’s fiery breath shocked the Saiban Fairy awake from its slumber within the oak. Then familiar laughter sounded, irresistibly making one want to join in.
After the laughter,
The Saiban Fairy stepped out of the oak, taking the form of a fairy made up of six dried leaves.
“Saiban, it’s been a long time, you really made me and Ice Cream look hard for you!” Russell complained looking at the Saiban Fairy.
The Saiban Fairy was silent for a moment.
Then, seemingly, a cool breeze came through the Gloomy Dreamland, and whispering murmurs quietly resonated in Russell’s ears.
It wasn’t any known language, but Russell understood it perfectly.
“This is our fateful encounter, for which you have paid a sufficient price, leading to our third meeting. Knight riding the great dragon, it is fate that connects us, even as the will of the Snow Forest has already blossomed the warmth of the oak.”
The words of the Saiban Fairy were somewhat cryptic.
After listening, Russell said, “Yes, it’s the power of destiny that made us destined to be… neighbors, now we can see each other every day.”
After hearing this, the Saiban Fairy was left in a long silence.
Just as Russell was growing impatient, a whisper arose again softly, “In the realm of fate, I see your brilliant future. Perhaps, the unyielding will of the Snow Forest, the longing for warmth in the oak forest, are far from my final destinations.”
“Hmm, that makes sense. Now that we’re neighbors, when I soar high, I’ll definitely take you with me,” said Russell.
Then he asked, “Saiban, where have you been these past two years? I’ve been to Saiban Snow Forest countless times but never found you. And I’ve visited many new snowfields and haven’t seen a single fairy either.”
“Each person’s life can only encounter a lucky fairy once… you have already broken this fate consecutively.”
“Okay, but you still haven’t said, where were you hiding?”
“I wasn’t hiding; it’s just that you and I couldn’t meet. Russell Fluorescent Fungus, don’t be obsessed with seeing me. Every blessing from the Snow Forest comes with a corresponding price,” the Saiban Fairy evidently noticed Russell’s greed.
Ready with an excuse, intending to dissolve Russell’s greed.
“If the price is right, it’s a worthwhile deal. That is, Saiban, I won’t ask where you’ve been hiding anymore.” Russell smiled, “From now on, as neighbors, we’ll have plenty of time to meet and chat leisurely.”
After a pause, he continued, “I’m already planning to plant hundreds of thousands of acres of oak trees to the east of Cigar Castle, all for you, Saiban!”
Saiban remained silent.
It was only after a while that he responded, “What do you want to get from me?”
Russell thought for a moment and asked, “Can you make it possible for a Phantom Beast to evolve into a Pseudo-Dragon, can you do this?”
Having tasted the sweetness of Prime Breath from a Pseudo-Dragon, without a doubt, what he most wanted now was for Harpy Dragon Hape and Ouroboros Uroboros to be able to advance to Pseudo-Dragons, unlocking his Second-layer and Third-layer Dragon Domain Lord identities.
The wind blew through.
The whisper became cold, “I cannot.”
“Then, Polly and I are already Dragon Domain Lords; can you help us reach the next realm?”
“I cannot.”
“How about Ice Cream, then? Can you help it to erupt early?”
“I cannot,” the whisper became colder, and the light of Saiban’s magical power began to tremble, “I am but the indomitable will of a snow forest, yearning for warmth and embracing the oak woods. The precious things I treasure have all been gifted to you.”
“Ah, this can’t be done, that can’t be done either.” Russell was actually just teasing Saiban. The Saiban Fairy seemed very mysterious, but it was just that — mysterious.
Its magical luminescence was much less than that of a Bipedal Flying Dragon or a Pseudo-Dragon; clearly, its abilities were much weaker too.
Russell said, “Then let’s just leave it at that. Give me another leaf of lucky clover, and then tell me what kind of luck it brings, or say within what range it can bring luck.”
Rustle.
A gust of wind blew, and in the hands of the Saiban Fairy, there now was a small plant with three round leaves remaining.
Tearing off a round leaf, Saiban swiftly placed it in Russell’s hand.
Then his form receded into the background oak tree, merging with it, and the whispering voice faded, “May your wishes come true, the bigger the wish, the harder it is to fulfill, the smaller the wish, the easier to achieve. Russell Fluorescent Fungus, my neighbor, this is my congratulations gift to you.”
The whispering dissipated.
The figure of the Saiban Fairy disappeared completely, the light of its magic and the sound of its magic vanishing entirely.
“Hey, wait a minute, I won’t eat this leaf now; I’ll save it for when I need it in the future, is that okay?” Russell called out to his surroundings.
Unfortunately, within the Gloomy Dreamland, there was only silence, with no response to his call.
