Evil dragon has a warm heart -
Chapter 374 - 374 373 Faust
Chapter 374: Chapter 373 Faust Chapter 374: Chapter 373 Faust In the southeastern corner of the Shadowflame Duchy, there lies a warm enclave called Golden Prairie, where the land is overgrown with peat that brings rich nutrients to the territory.
Thus, when the ancestors of the Golden Cap family first discovered this place, they exclaimed that it was as if the land was strewn with gold.
Hence the name Golden Prairie.
From generation to generation, the current master of the Golden Prairie, Baron Gold, is the Peat Dragon Knight, Davis Golden Cap.
After the Dragon Birth Festival, Baron Davis, finding it boring to stay in his domain, rode his Peat Dragon to the Snowfields, and kept pushing southeast until he left the borders of the Shadowflame Duchy and crossed out of the country.
“He’s really hiding far away, last year’s hunt left some behind, and this year I’ve had to leave the country to find the Snow Demon!” Davis lamented on the back of the Peat Dragon.
The Peat Dragon hummed softly in response to Davis’s lament.
After a while, the bored Davis lamented again, “I thought being the finance minister would be interesting, but the Council of Elders is just as boring, all those baron ministers just look up to Old Merlin, without any ideas of their own!”
He paused, then continued, “And that idiot Osclo, bothers me every day, asking me to decide on an heir early. A verbal promise isn’t enough for him, he even dares to demand a written contract!”
He raised his middle finger to the sky, “Fuck, does he really think I can’t produce a son?”
The Peat Dragon turned its head and gave Davis a woeful look.
Davis sheepishly said, “I know, I know, it took a lot of your Origin Dragon’s Breath to help me have Diana… Alright, it seems I’m not destined to have a son in this lifetime, when I get back, I’ll name Daison as my heir.”
Daison is his nephew, whose aunt Davin married the chosen son, Augustus.
With the Gravel Domain not far from the Golden Prairie, the Golden Cap Family needed the support of the Willow Clan, which is why they chose to unite through marriage. Unfortunately for Davis, he has no son but only an underage daughter, so he can only establish connections through his niece.
“But it really sucks, this is a family matter of my Golden Prairie, and as Baron Gold, I can make all the decisions on my own. What right does that idiot Osclo have to stick his nose in?” Davis continued to vent in anger.
“When someone speaks in the Council of Elders, they have to drag me along, as if I were his lackey. Roman, my uncle, wouldn’t dare to boss me around like that. And this idiot can’t even ride a dragon, yet he dares to get up in my face?”
“Humph.” The Peat Dragon responded.
“Yeah, yeah, I exaggerate, Osclo wouldn’t dare get up in my face, he needs to court my support for his son to become Grand Duke,” Davis chuckled, purely dissatisfied with the Willow Clan courting Daison.
Daison wasn’t even officially named as his heir yet, and the Willow Clan dared to court him directly.
Clearly, they were certain he’d never have a son in his lifetime and that he would eventually hand over the Golden Prairie to Daison.
Angry as he was, Daison was after all his nephew.
Davis shook his head, tossing these annoying thoughts out of his mind, then gently stroked the neck of the Peat Dragon, reverting to his usual cocky demeanor, “We are Dragon Knights, not to mention living to one hundred ninety-five, living to be a century old should be no problem, right?”
“Humph.”
“Exactly, I can totally wait for Daison to have children, train Daison’s children in the future, instead of handing over the Golden Prairie to Daison!” Davis boasted proudly, “That idiot Osclo really thinks I would clearly pick his son’s side?”
He looked up at the sky, smiling slightly, “Just appeasing him!”
At that moment, a group of Snow Ghosts on the Snowfield ahead caught his attention, the Snow Ghost Group surrounded a plump, deep blue-skinned Snow Demon.
“Hm, found you, cute little blue skin!” Davis laughed heartily, “Let’s go, it’s time to harvest the Ice Soul Pearl!”
The fighting power of a Flying Dragon Knight is matched only by a Riding Blue Skin, ordinary Snow Demons aren’t much of a threat.
Thus, Davis and the Peat Dragon quickly ended the battle, and pulled out a fist-sized Ice Soul Pearl from the fallen body of the Snow Demon.
“What a wonderful thing indeed.” Holding the Ice Soul Pearl, Davis stood in the snow, marveling, “I used to be too lazy to harvest Ice Soul Pearls every year, since advancing my noble rank seemed so far off, I didn’t expect to have to leave the country to harvest this year.”
Suddenly,
The Peat Dragon seemed uneasy, constantly snorting twice.
Davis’s eyebrows shot up, and he immediately leapt to get on the back of the Peat Dragon. He was a step too late, however, as the ice cracked, snow flew, and a huge pale arm burst forth from under the ground and grabbed Davis directly.
Then the hand squeezed sharply.
Davis immediately felt a horrific force begin to compress his body, the swelling Dragon Breath whined under the pressure of this force, as if it was being burst.
“Da!”
Baron Davis lost his spirit in an instant, his soul shattered, frantically circulating his Dragon Breath to resist the pale hand’s crushing grip.
But as the pale hand exerted more and more force, and fine cracks appeared on its arm, as pale as ice crystals and splitting with the effort. Even with the robust physique of a Flying Dragon Knight, he could not withstand this overwhelming might no longer of the same league.
“Ah!” Baron Davis managed to let out a wail before his internal organs were crushed, and his screaming came to an abrupt halt.
Without pause, the pale hand clenched into a fist, its arm now filled with countless cracks, and thrust a charged punch towards the newly risen Peat Dragon.
Boom!
The Peat Dragon, like a meteor struck by the pale hand’s punch, was hammered into the sky, blood spraying in its wake.
However, at the next moment, the faltering form of the Peat Dragon somehow steadied itself, flapping its wings to speed away from the battlefield, leaving only trailing drops of Dragon Blood that blossomed on the snowfield like petals.
The giant hand paused for a moment, and the form rising from the ground followed closely behind.
It was none other than the greatest threat of the Shadowflame Duchy — the Snow Giant Da!
However, at this moment, the Snow Giant Da had scorch marks all over its head and body, and even its single arm appeared slightly torn.
Especially notable was a sword wound on its forehead, within which tiny sparks of lightning still flickered.
After emerging from the ground, the Snow Giant Da sat cross-legged, still clutching the now mangled Baron Davis in its fist. Its eyes stared toward the northwest, cutting through time and space as if it could see the Shadowflame Dragon that had inflicted such wounds upon it…
And the recently ascended Dragon Domain Lord, Russell.
Snowflakes fluttered down, covering the body of the Snow Giant Da and slowly concealing its charred scars.
After some time.
A malicious eye pattern suddenly formed in the snow on the shoulder of the Snow Giant Da. The eye blinked once, and in the next moment, a blue figure silently appeared, standing quietly on its shoulder.
This figure was slender yet muscular, with a humanoid silhouette but with extraordinarily long arms hanging down near its ankles.
With a height roughly equivalent to the head of the Snow Giant Da, it must be over twenty meters tall.
Its inverted triangular head was bald, with boar-like tusks protruding from the corners of its mouth, and its long, sharp ears twitched occasionally. A pair of malicious eyes sparked with the same light as the earlier eye pattern.
Dressed in shorts fashioned from some unknown beast’s hide, it also held a short, thick wooden club in its hand.
Moments later.
This creature, different from both the Snow Giant Da and the Snow Demons and Snow Ghosts, suddenly raised the wooden club in its hand as if casting some special spell.
Suddenly, before it, a 3D map-like scene floated into the air.
A vast expanse of green land, surrounded by nine smaller enclaves of varying sizes, satellites to the main territory. Two of these enclaves flickered unstably, as though not yet fully settled — this was clearly the map of the Shadowflame Duchy.
The creature touched the location of Leize on the map, and quickly Russell’s image in battle mode appeared.
After watching Russell’s figure for a while, the creature bared its teeth.
Then it pointed to the location of Shadowflame Volcano, and the image of the Shadowflame Dragon appeared. Following this, it tapped the edge of Fire Ant Swamp, and in the next instant, the image of the Torrential Flood Dragon also emerged.
Looking at the images of the two giant dragons and then at the Snow Giant Da beneath its feet, which was starting to show cracks, it let out an angry roar, “Faust!”
After the roar.
The creature casually wiped away the 3D map of the Shadowflame Duchy, and its figure gradually became transparent until it vanished.
At that moment, the Snow Giant Da, sitting cross-legged, began melting into the ice cap and snow beneath him. Gradually, his entire body merged with the snowfield, as though he had never been there at all.
Only a puddle of flesh remained in place, barely recognizable as the corpse of Baron Gold, Davis.
Shortly after, the puddle of flesh suddenly trembled.
Then, the flesh rose, transforming into a ghastly Snow Ghost with green face and sharp fangs.
In the distance, a group of Snow Ghosts wandered by. This Snow Ghost, risen from the death of Davis, quickly blended in with them and soon stood out — it became a large Snow Ghost, even conjuring an ice flower from the snow and placing it atop its head.
The howling wind swept by, and the Snow Ghost Group drifted away with it, not pausing in their wandering steps.
