Chapter 368 - 368 367 Sir Mighty
Chapter 368: Chapter 367 Sir Mighty Chapter 368: Chapter 367 Sir Mighty Glowing Valley, Blackfire Plains, and Leize might resonate to form a giant warm enclave, but whether it might happen was still unknown.
“Roar!”
Ross landed on the third-floor rooftop.
Russell returned to Cigar Courtyard in the night.
“Sir, welcome home,” Butler Morris, hearing the roar of the dragon, immediately went upstairs to greet him and then curiously looked at Russell clad in his silver armor and the eye-catching Mark of the Thunder Lord on his forehead.
Russell did not elaborate, merely saying, “Have a servant bring me a new set of clothes. I’ve lost mine.”
“Very well, Sir.”
When the servant brought the clothes, Russell swiftly changed into them, which made him feel somewhat better—although the silver armor could shield his body, it lacked tactility, making Russell feel continuously as if he were not wearing clothes, which was awkward and humiliating.
Afterward, Russell walked to the garden terrace and said in his mind, “Alright, Polly, you can rest now.”
“Alright.”
The Mark of the Thunder Lord flickered, transforming into a bolt of lightning that flew from Russell’s forehead and then outlined the perfect body of a unicorn in mid-air.
The flashing lightning instantly lit up the dark night, and the harsh sound of thunder alarmed the entire Wuyao Snake Manor.
“That was quite loud,” Polly said in her mind.
“Haha, it befits your Pseudo-Dragon status, as we’ve now been elevated to Dragon Domain Lord. It would be difficult to keep a low profile even if we wanted to,” Russell responded with a smile. He was not displeased with the noise Polly made during her transformation; instead, he was quite satisfied.
It had to be this spectacular to match his new status.
“Ah!” Butler Morris came to the garden terrace and, seeing the transformed Unicorn Polly with astonishment in his eyes, gasped, “Sir, Lady Polly is… different now. She, she even has wings!”
“Because Polly has evolved into a Pseudo-Dragon.”
“A Pseudo-Dragon?” Butler Morris was utterly confused. He had never heard of a Pseudo-Dragon, nor was he aware of the existence of a Dragon Domain Lord.
Russell was about to explain when he saw that his followers had already hurried over.
Clearly, they had all heard Ross’s roar and the thunderous noise and bright lightning from Polly’s transformation.
“Morris, let’s go downstairs and talk,” Russell instructed.
He then waved at Polly in mid-air, took a few steps across the void, and walked straight from the garden terrace to the lawn by the front door.
Eric and the others arrived one after another and then saw the newly transformed Polly.
“You have arrived just in time. I have a new honor to announce to you,” Russell said with a calm smile, “I have been elevated to Dragon Domain Lord, and Polly has also been promoted to a Pseudo-Dragon. A new warm enclave is being established east of the Blackfire Plains!”
“Ah!” Charles exclaimed, “Dragon Domain Lord? Pseudo-Dragon? New warm enclave?”
Although he was just an ordinary Armed Knight, he was well-traveled and had heard legends of Dragon Domain Lords and Pseudo-Dragons.
And because he had heard these legends, he was astounded beyond belief.
Moreover, Eric, Grove, and Grontan Bainroot all gaped in astonishment, amazed at how the legend had become real.
And Katie and others were somewhat confused, as they had no idea what Pseudo-Dragons or Dragon Domain Lords were. In their understanding, Phantom Beasts were just Phantom Beasts, and contracting them was tantamount to reaching the pinnacle of one’s life.
They did not know that Phantom Beasts, on rare occasions, could break through the ceiling and ascend to Pseudo-Dragons.
Seeing the puzzled looks on everyone’s faces, Russell casually said, “Charles, it seems many people here don’t know what a Dragon Domain Lord is. Perhaps you can explain it to them.”
“Yes, Sir!” Charles took a deep breath, suppressing the shock in his heart.
He carefully relayed to everyone the hearsay legend about the Lord of the Dragon Domain, “Legend has it that the knight and the phantom beast, after surviving life-and-death trials and deciphering the secrets of life and death, can break free from the shackles of Phantom Beast Knights and ascend to become a Lord of the Dragon Domain!”
The phantom beast would ascend to a Pseudo-Dragon, gaining authority similar to that of a bipedal flying dragon.
The Phantom Beast Knight who ascended to a Lord of the Dragon Domain would possess their own warm enclave, thus earning the title of Lord of the Dragon Domain.
“Then, Sir, you …” Katie exclaimed after hearing the legend, “You must have faced life-and-death crises with Lady Polly, right?”
“Correct, I was cleaning up Snow Ghosts on the snowfield when I was ambushed by Snow Giant Da,” Russell said softly.
At these words, everyone held their breath for a moment.
The name Snow Giant Da had become a specter hovering over the entire Shadowflame Grand Duchy, like the Sword of Damocles above every knight’s head.
Especially for Eric and Grove, who had participated in the Second Fall Campaign, they could appreciate just how powerful Snow Giant Da was—an existence as mighty as dragons, even the Guardian God of the Grand Duchy, the Shadowflame Dragon, had nearly been killed by Snow Giant Da.
And now, Snow Giant Da had ambushed Russell!
“Sir, you … you’re all right?” Grove asked cautiously, fearing that Russell might have been seriously injured.
Russell rolled his eyes, “If I were not alright, could I be standing here perfectly fine?”
He then declared loudly, “Snow Giant Da has been repelled by the Shadowflame Dragon and me and has fled once again!”
“Sir, how mighty!” Charles immediately played up.
Though he couldn’t help feeling that Russell was boasting—after all, that was Snow Giant Da, a formidable being on par with dragons.
Even though Russell had ascended to a Lord of the Dragon Domain, he was only on par with a Flying Dragon Knight.
Flying Dragon Knights stood no chance against Snow Giant Da; if they weren’t faster, and didn’t have the ability to fly, they wouldn’t dare linger in Snow Giant Da’s presence. A slap from Snow Giant Da would likely leave a Flying Dragon Knight severely injured for three months.
With Charles taking the lead, the subordinates shouted in unison, “Sir, how mighty!”
After everyone cheered a few times, Russell slowly raised his hand to calm them down, “Alright, alright. Snow Giant Da was just stabbed in the forehead by my sword and then fled. It didn’t harm its essence, and it could return at any moment.”
“Sir, could you tell us about what happened then?” Katie asked with concern in her eyes, “As followers who could not protect you and shield you from danger, we feel deeply ashamed!”
“You can’t blame yourselves; who would have known that Snow Giant Da would dare to step into the territory of the Shadowflame Grand Duchy? I thought it would only hide outside the borders,” Russell said, still shuddering at the memory, noting that he had indeed nearly died.
Actually, he was not afraid of Snow Giant Da.
When he had previously gone hunting Snow Demons overseas, there was always the possibility of being ambushed by Snow Giant Da, but thanks to riding a bipedal flying dragon, he enjoyed great mobility.
Furthermore, Polly would merge with him, always ready to activate the Ethereal Dream Escape Technique.
Thus, when out hunting, Russell was not worried about his safety, confident that he could escape anytime and anywhere, with Snow Giant Da unable to harm him.
But he had never expected Snow Giant Da to ambush him within the territory of the Shadowflame Grand Duchy, which made him let his guard down, not having Black Oil Dragon Ross accompany him, nor riding Unicorn Polly, instead he was practicing with the Pseudo-Harpy Dragon Hape.
Caught completely off guard, he was ambushed by Snow Giant Da’s lone arm, which crushed his body immediately.
Luckily, Hape blocked a deadly hit for him, Polly arrived in time to initiate the Ethereal Dream Escape Technique, Little Dream Dragon paused time, and the amber worms powered him together, which not only saved him from calamity but also inadvertently elevated him to a Lord of the Dragon Domain.
“How could Snow Giant Da dare to enter our territory?” Eric asked in a low voice.
Russell shook his head, “I don’t understand either… By doing so, Snow Giant Da was practically seeking death, seemingly wishing for the Shadowflame Dragon to kill it.”
