Evil dragon has a warm heart
Chapter 357 - 357 356 Good Luck is Here

Chapter 357: Chapter 356: Good Luck is Here Chapter 357: Chapter 356: Good Luck is Here The desolate snowfield was not devoid of human activity.

As Russell knew, outside the boundaries of the Shadowflame Grand Duchy, there were many man-made and established lightning strike points. Dragon Knights frequently visited to draw down the overflowing power between heaven and earth, infusing it into the ground below.

This power, summoned from the sky, would gradually merge into the power of the Shadowflame Dragon, helping to expand its influence.

Especially as the Shadowflame Grand Duchy flourished more, with an increasing production of miraculous creations and abundant magic power, the effectiveness of these lightning strikes improved.

“Look, there, that must be a lightning strike point!” Russell quickly spotted a spear lodged in the ice cap, “The Lightning Spear is still there. A Dragon Knight must have placed it not long ago. Over time, the spear would melt from the lightning.”

After patting Rossay’s neck, Russell said, “Let’s go down and take a look. I might even take on lightning strike missions in the future.”

Rossay dived downwards.

After being promoted to a Dragon Knight, in addition to gaining a powerful status and influence, one must also undertake high-risk duties.

Lightning strike was one of these duties. Every year, many Dragon Knights would head to the outskirts of the Shadowflame Grand Duchy’s territory. They continuously placed Lightning Spears to vaporize the earth’s power into the sky, which then drew it back underground via thunderbolts.

“This Lightning Spear looks quite ordinary, but inside, it contains abundant magic power.”

To take a closer look at the Lightning Spear, Russell even used an Ice Pellet Pearl to activate the Ethereal Dream Gaze Skill.

The magic light of the Lightning Spear blossomed, revealing every detail.

“Cool, thirty-six types of metal forged the main body, and eighteen types of gems embedded in the shaft in a specific arrangement… This Lightning Spear alone is a magic array that can invoke thunder.”

However, it was a clear day, and though there were clouds, they were few and scattered ineffectively.

Thus, the Lightning Spear could not function, remaining quietly lodged in the ice cap, waiting for the tumultuous changes brought by gathering clouds.

“Let’s go, Rossay, Polly.”

With a call, a man, a dragon, and a beast continued forward.

Since it was clearly recorded in Red Castle’s reports that no Snow Demon has been detected in the lightning strike area, Russell decided to continue southward, venturing deeper into the barren snowfield to hunt Snow Demons.

However, Rossay’s flying speed was not very fast, which was at Russell’s request.

Venturing deep into the snowfield, losing the protection of the Shadowflame Dragon, they could encounter dangers at any time. Although he and Unicorn Polly could use Wraithwalk and Ethereal Dream Escape Skill to flee numerous crises, Rossay could not enter Gloomy Dreamland.

If they truly encountered Snow Giant Da, and were chased by it,

then Rossay’s safety could not be guaranteed.

Should Rossay die, the yet unfinished Blackflame Plains would once again fall into an icy fate, something Russell did not wish to see.

“We will proceed cautiously and face dangers as they come. Polly and I will divert the danger. All you need to do, Rossay, is run, quickly run back to the Shadowflame Grand Duchy,” Russell again cautioned Rossay, “Don’t worry about Polly and me, we have ways to avoid danger.”

“Understood, father,” said the inexperienced Rossay, who would not question Russell’s orders.

What Russell said, it did.

Thus, they flew hundreds of kilometers away from the lightning strike area, and the climate on the snowfield turned colder, as if even Dragon Breath could be pierced by the cold winds.

At that moment,

finally, after nearly half a year, Russell spotted the familiar deep blue-skinned monster again.

“Snow Demon!”

“Let’s fight, Rossay!”

“Roar!” With a furious roar, Rossay, carrying Russell, dived swiftly at the Snow Demon wandering across the snowfield.

The Snow Demon, too, spotted Rossay and immediately swung its huge Ice Crystal Warhammer, howling as it came forward. A group of Snow Ghosts also raised their ice-sculpted weapons, echoing the Snow Demon’s battle cry.

However, the Snow Ghosts, being bodies reanimated from death, had decayed vocal cords and could not produce a howling sound, slightly diminishing the imposing atmosphere on the Snow Demon’s side.

Fighting Spirit Armor!

Fighting Spirit Dragon Warrior!

In an instant, Unicorn Polly, already fused with Russell, swiftly transformed into a set of Snowy Unicorn Armour.

Then, between Russell’s hands, a giant phantom lance was conjured.

Boom!

As Rossay’s body swept over the Snow Demon’s head, Russell hurled the phantom lance directly at it, puncturing the Snow Demon’s body.

But after the explosion dispersed, the Snow Demon’s body was merely cracked in a few places, these cracks visibly healing at a rapid pace.

The Ice Crystal Warhammer swung, missing by a whisker, brushing past Rossay’s claws.

But Rossay turned back with a blast of Dragon Breath, whooshing it forth. Flames ignited in the icy world, engulfing the Snow Demon head-on. The scorching Dragon Breath instantly melted the Snow Demon’s skin, causing it to let out a woeful wail.

A shadowy greatsword was already forming.

Russell held the shadowy greatsword and displayed expert swordsmanship, swiftly slicing through the Snow Demon that was being scorched by Dragon Breath.

With just a few strokes.

The Snow Demon’s limbs had already been severed.

With a sweeping backhand strike, the surrounding Snow Ghosts also cracked open, and at that moment, Rossay withdrew his Dragon Breath while Russell wielded the Phantom Sword, severing the Snow Demon’s neck with a single stroke.

Then Rossay descended, his claws directly stepping on the broken body of the Snow Demon, crushing it bit by bit until he found a smooth, fist-sized deep blue Ice Essence Pearl.

With a beckoning gesture,

The Ice Essence Pearl fell into Russell’s hand: “Haha, long time no see, Ice Essence Pearl!”

He then stashed it in his back pocket and turned to the Snow Ghosts, which were scrambling to find their bodies. Rossay directly communicated through his mind, “Father, watch me burn these little crawlers.”

“No, save your Dragon Breath for hunting Snow Demons. These green skins are mine to handle.” Russell was not about to use a cannon to swat a mosquito; Rossay was his trump card for hunting Snow Demons, not to be wasted on trifles.

He leapt up, jumping off the dragon’s back.

Then, he drew his side-sword, the Green Ceramic Sword, and moved like lightning, sweeping through the group of Snow Ghosts.

Moments later, this group of Snow Ghosts had turned into over fifty Ice Pellet Pearls.

“It’s all money!” Russell collected the Ice Pellet Pearls one by one, mounted the dragon’s back again, looked at the Snow Ghosts’ dissolving corpses, and the clean snowfield and a few patches of deep blue ice debris on the ground, and couldn’t help but exclaim, “I am terrifyingly strong now!”

Though Phantom Beast Knights could also hunt Snow Demons,

the ease with which he had just diced them up was something only Flying Dragon Knights could achieve — a standalone Bipedal Flying Dragon, though strong, could only engage in close combat with Snow Demons or spit Dragon Breath.

Only a Flying Dragon Knight could bring out the ultimate strength of a Bipedal Flying Dragon.

“Take off, let’s continue searching for Snow Demons!”

Together, man, dragon, and beast took to the skies once more to search for traces of Snow Demons, while Russell still marveled.

“The difference between a Bipedal Flying Dragon with and without a knight is enormous… Speaking of which, the Shadowflame Dragon should realize this problem too; without a Dragon Knight, it can only engage in close combat with Snow Giant Da and then get beaten up by Snow Giant Da.”

Russell thought, it was better to just raise a Dragon Knight than get beaten up.

“I, humble as I am, am the most suitable candidate for a Dragon Knight.”

“But if the Shadowflame Dragon really begs me to ride it, should I…? I definitely want to ride Ice Cream, but, there’s no rule saying a Dragon Knight can only ride one dragon, right? Flying Dragon Knights, however, can only ride one Bipedal Flying Dragon.”

For a moment,

Russell even struggled with the difficult choice of whether or not to ride the Shadowflame Dragon: “As ethereal as it is, it’s ultimately a dragon. If a Dragon Knight can contract multiple dragons, then why not give it a chance?”

With such an agreeable thought,

Russell embarked on a new round of hunting, yet until they reached Cold Spring Point beyond the Grand Duchy of Shadowflame, no second Snow Demon had been spotted.

“Let’s spend the night at Cold Spring Point tonight; Rossay, stay alert.”

“Roar.”

After Russell fell into a deep sleep, accompanied by a familiar, loud roar, “Ga,” the Little Dream Dragon made its appearance as promised.

“Ice Cream, you’ve come.”

“Ga.”

“Finally made you happy today, look what’s in my sleeping bag.” Russell waved his chubby little hand toward his sleeping bag, “It’s an Ice Essence Pearl, hunted together today with Rossay and Polly.”

“Ga!” the Little Dream Dragon drooled.

“Don’t rush; after eating the Ice Essence Pearl, you’ll have to go into a deep sleep for a few days, and that would be too time-consuming. So tonight, we hunt first.” Russell said, “If we can find a Snow Demon, this Ice Essence Pearl can wait for later.”

The Little Dream Dragon thought about it and realized that made sense. Having gone hungry every day, it had learned to think.

It knew how to allocate to maximize benefits.

“Ga!”

“Alright, let’s go!”

It seemed like their luck had returned, and perhaps outside the Grand Duchy of Shadowflame, there were still plenty of Snow Demons; that night, the Little Dream Dragon successfully found a Snow Demon.

As usual, they first hunted the surrounding Snow Ghosts, then sucked up the Snow Demon.

“Double yolks, haha, really hit the jackpot!”

In an instant, two round Ice Essence Pearls were extracted, then crunched and swallowed by the Little Dream Dragon.

“Ga ga!” Savoring the long-desired Ice Essence Pearls, the Little Dream Dragon trembled with excitement.

It took a while to calm down and then, tilting its head, it yawned and began to look sleepy, dragging out a “Ga…”

It needed to focus on digesting the Ice Essence Pearls.

“Off you go, that’s it for tonight; tomorrow, Rossay, Polly, and I will continue to hunt Snow Demons for you.” Russell waved his hand, but just then, as he looked at Polly, who was idly wandering nearby, he suddenly remembered something.

He shouted towards the vanishing figure of the Little Dream Dragon: “Wait, something’s not right; next time, don’t rush to eat the Ice Essence Pearls, let Polly use the Quiet Dream Unicorn Horn to stick the Ice Essence Pearls…”

Before he could finish, the Gloomy Dreamland collapsed and his consciousness plunged into chaos.
