Evil dragon has a warm heart
Chapter 209 - 209 208 Furious Wind City

Chapter 209: Chapter 208: Furious Wind City Chapter 209: Chapter 208: Furious Wind City This night, without finding the Snow Ghost or Snow Demon, the Little Dream Dragon didn’t gain anything and cast a reproachful glance at Russell before leaving.

If not for Russell lingering too long in the Snow Forest, they might have enjoyed a feast.

“Don’t worry, Ice Cream, the Mountain River Trade Route is still long, there will be a time for your feast,” Russell soothed.

The next day, before dawn, Eric came to wake Russell, “Sir, if you want to go to the Snow Forest, you should set out now.”

“Alright,” Russell actually didn’t want to go anymore.

How could they possibly find this deliberately hiding Fantasy Beast? However, after some thought, he decided to make the trip anyway.

Whether they found it or not, it was good to listen to the private whispers of a Fantasy Beast.

The east was not yet light, the two greeted the Knights standing guard and made their way into the Snow Forest. They took a loop and still didn’t find any trace of the Fantasy Beast, not even the footprints of wild animals; this part of the Snow Forest had few small creatures.

“Sir, do you still feel like you’re being watched?” Eric asked in a low voice, not sensing anything abnormal himself.

“Yes.”

“Strange,” Eric couldn’t understand.

He had communicated with Kevin the Gold and Silver Wolfhound, and Kevin hadn’t detected anything unusual either. The Snow Forest was eerily quiet and too small to hide anyone.

Russell was silent for a while, then suddenly said, “Mr. Eric, do you know of anything that can resist the cold of the Snowfield?”

Eric immediately replied in a low voice, “Battle Qi.”

“Aside from Battle Qi?”

“Clothes?”

“I mean, for a Fantasy Beast, like the Red-eyed Rat King, Jerry, how can it resist the cold?” Russell steered the conversation.

Eric frowned and uncertainly replied, “Fur? Thicker fur?”

“I’m talking about treasures. For instance, the Red Chalcedony Dragon produces red chalcedony. Wearing a red chalcedony ornament can protect against the chill wind.”

“Yes,” Eric nodded.

“Besides that, there is also the wax rhodium produced by the Wax Rhodium Dragon. It’s said this metal is very scarce, and most wax rhodium is mixed with other metals. Only the essence of wax rhodium is pure,” Russell declared.

“That seems to be the case, wax rhodium soft armors are quite valuable,” Eric didn’t know why Russell was bringing this up.

Russell smiled and said, “So, I plan to make a trip to Furious Wind City to buy some red chalcedony ornaments and a bit of wax rhodium essence. In the future, when encountering cold-fearing Fantasy Beasts, I can use these magic-infused metals and gems to help them withstand the cold.”

Eric frowned, “There shouldn’t be any Fantasy Beasts that are afraid of the cold. Sir, you shouldn’t waste your Gold Coins.”

“What if there is one?” Russell laughed, not saying much more. “Let’s go, Mr. Eric, let’s head back.”

Once the two had left the Snow Forest,

Russell’s eyes brightened as he once again heard the familiar strange whispers in his ear: “Oh my! This human with light golden hair and handsome looks is actually going to buy wax rhodium and red chalcedony. Is he buying them for me?”

“Yes, they are for you!” Russell replied inwardly.

The reason he had rattled on so much to Eric was to let this single-horned Fantasy Beast hear.

Unable to capture it with force, he decided to become a warming man instead, bringing warmth to the Fantasy Beast.

When they rushed back to Cold Spring Point, the team had just gotten ready to set off. Marcus glanced at Russell but didn’t scold him as he did the previous day.

He simply instructed, “Keep up with the team!”

“Moo!” The steel thunder beast roared, and the train-like team slowly started moving.

“Sir, your breakfast.” Halls handed over a roll filled with several meatballs, though it was a bit cold.

Russell didn’t mind, swallowing the roll in a few bites, then taking a sip of warm water from his canteen before hastily catching up with the team.

For the next three to four days, nothing unexpected happened.

In the evening, aided by the Dream Clone, I searched for the Snow Ghost. The harvest was scant, but at least the Little Dream Dragon had a hearty meal.

The only regret was that I didn’t find the Snow Demon.

Descending the Mountain River Trade Route and crossing through the caverns, we arrived at the trading estates invested in by the Fluorescent Fungi Family, where the convoy rested up nicely.

A portion of the wagons began to leave the convoy, heading to the surrounding estates for trade, but the Thunder Beasts pulling the carriages did not depart. They still had to continue on to Furious Wind City for trading—In the Warm Enclave, Thunder Beasts can travel for sixteen hours a day.

Resting for eight hours was sufficient.

Leaving You Guang Ji, the convoy then traveled on the wide roads of Torrent Province, heading northward, where the temperature increased the further we went.

No longer was there any sight related to the Snowfield to be seen.

Dense vegetation merged into one mass, everywhere were untouched primordial forests, with who knows how many Fantasy Beasts hidden within.

“Tear that monkey to shreds, I want to tear that monkey to shreds!”

“These berries taste terrible.”

“I so need to pee, need to pee, need to pee…”

“Humans, there are detestable humans passing through the forest, I must run fast, those Knights have caught me twice.”

“Chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp…”

Along the way, strange murmurs frequently reached Russell’s ears, indicating that a Fantasy Beast was whispering.

However, the ability to hear a Fantasy Beast’s whisper was quite limited, unable to pinpoint where the whisper was coming from. Faced with dense forests, it was basically impossible to even know where to start looking. Moreover, many of the forests were the property of lords, and the magical creatures within them belonged to those lords.

Russell could only give up.

It took three days to cross the entire Torrent Province to enter Furywind Province, which encircles the entire volcano. Furious Wind City was located here, as well as Red Castle.

And the temperature here was nearing the height of a big summer back on Earth.

Rivers roared and sparse trees stretched out. A massive city had appeared at the end of the road, an open city without walls.

Behind the city, the red volcano was bald without a single tree; even the crater emitted only a wisp of faint smoke.

“Mr. Eric, have you ever seen the Shadowflame Volcano before?” Russell asked, riding horseback and shading his eyes to look at the volcano in the distance.

It was a standard volcano, resembling Mount Fuji back on Earth in shape, but its summit had no snow, only exposed red rocks. Even from a great distance, I could feel its warmth emanating.

This heat, carrying the air, blew continuously downward from the mouth of the volcano, over Furious Wind City which seemed close but was actually far away at the foot of the mountain.

Then it blew across the Mountain River Trade Route and onto Russell’s face.

Even as Battle Qi rapidly circulated inside his body to cool him down, he could still feel sweat seeping out from his forehead and gathering on his cheeks.

Gathering into a droplet of sweat, it fell down.

“I’ve been to Furious Wind City a few times and seen the Shadowflame Volcano,” Eric replied in a muffled voice, before adding another sentence, “But I’ve never seen the Shadowflame Dragon.”

“The Shadowflame Dragon sleeps within the volcano, so naturally, it can’t be seen,” Russell replied with a light laugh.

At the same time, he could feel that the M-shaped mark on his left palm was silent, unable to call upon; it had entered a dormant state.

The Little Dream Dragon was clearly afraid of the Shadowflame Dragon, concealing itself and not daring to expose even a hint of its presence. This had been evident since the Gloomy Dreamland hadn’t descended the previous night at camp, making it easy to determine.

It was precisely because of the silence of Gloomy Dreamland and the Little Dream Dragon that Russell dared to approach the Shadowflame Volcano and visit Red Castle.

Otherwise, if the Little Dream Dragon felt uneasy, he would have had to find an excuse to stay put halfway and not come to Furious Wind City.

As the old saying goes, a king won’t let another king reign.

After resting on the road for a while, Russell arrived in Furious Wind City with the convoy. He instructed Halls and Grove to cooperate with the convoy supervisor to buy serfs. He didn’t enter the city but went straight on to the next destination.

Located to the east of Furious Wind City and southwest of the Shadowflame Volcano was Grand Duke Yanyan’s Palace, also known as Red Castle.
