Huo Miao blinked in disbelief. When she first saw the person in front of her, she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her.

She briskly walked up to Jiang Ning and, upon confirming her identity, Huo Miao exclaimed incredulously, "It really is you! What are you doing here?!"

This was Huo Family’s company, and just yesterday, Jiang Ning had rejected Huo Li in the seafood restaurant. Yet today, here she was, eagerly appearing at the foot of Huo Corporation’s building.

Recalling that Huo Li and Huo Song had been trying to entice Jiang Ning back to the Huo Family recently, Huo Miao’s eyes flashed with an immediate sense of crisis.

"This is your home? Mind your own business where I am," Jiang Ning retorted coldly, not expecting to bump into Huo Miao two days in a row.

Jiang Ning had come to the company after breakfast, and as she was not an official employee yet, there was no need for her to adhere to the strict working hours of eight to five. By the time she finished breakfast, it was nearly half-past eight. With the drive over taking up a fair bit of time, she had already arrived at the base of Huo Corporation’s building by around nine o’clock, well past the normal clock-in time for employees.

"What about you, though? What are you doing here at this hour?" Jiang Ning scanned Huo Miao from head to toe and suddenly noticed that Huo Miao was dressed very maturely today, her face adorned with vibrant makeup, her hair meticulously styled, wearing a form-fitting qipao with a slit up to her thigh.

Huo Miao had been a movie star, and to look good on camera, she was thinner than most due to strict management. If this were the Huo Miao from a while ago, she would indeed have looked good in a qipao, but she had just come out from detention and lost a significant amount of weight, appearing too frail and thin, which made the qipao on her seem somewhat lacking.

Clenching her teeth, Huo Miao clutched her handbag tightly, "Of course I’m here to deliver documents to dad!"

Jiang Ning looked at Huo Miao’s attire and then glanced at her handbag.

There wasn’t the slightest hint of her being there to deliver documents.

"You still haven’t answered, what are you doing here?" Huo Miao stood in front of Jiang Ning, aware of her own loss of control, lowered her voice, and couldn’t help but spit out sarcastically, "Weren’t you defiantly rejecting big brother yesterday at the seafood restaurant? What, you regret it after just one night?"

Jiang Ning smiled, about to speak, when a young man with the air of a business elite suddenly appeared from nowhere, quickly approached the two women, "Miss Jiang, hello, I’m Xiao Chen, President Huo has asked me to come down and take you to complete the onboarding procedures."

Huo Miao’s eyes bulged, speechless as she watched the man who had suddenly appeared before them.

Chen Qi noticed Huo Miao’s gaze and also bowed his head to greet her, "Miss Huo, good morning."

Jiang Ning nodded slightly, "Thank you, that would be great."

It was only after Chen Qi and Jiang Ning had disappeared behind the elevator doors that Huo Miao, still standing there, realized what was happening.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Huo Miao, bag in hand, confidently made her way to Huo Song’s office.

Huo Song was busy with work in his office. The middle-aged man who sat in front of the bright windows looked dignified and impressive. Seeing Huo Miao enter, he asked her to lock the door.

Upon hearing Huo Song’s words, Huo Miao instantly knew what he wanted.

Biting her lip, Huo Miao turned to lock the door, then walked over to Huo Song.

Even before her detention, Huo Song would often ask Huo Miao to come to the company to deliver documents and such. Even if he didn’t call her to the office that day, the two would still find time to frolic in the Huo Family’s study at night.

After she was released from detention, Huo Song had suddenly become cool toward her, treating her as if their relationship had returned to normal. She knew that no man could resist this kind of temptation.

However, having been apart for over ten days, Huo Miao couldn’t help feeling a sense of strangeness toward Huo Song, and the recent encounter with Jiang Ning in the lobby had further affected her mood. With a heavy heart, she slowly approached Huo Song.

The man sitting at the desk appeared patient and composed, but as soon as Huo Miao approached, he couldn’t wait to grab her fair wrist, pulling hard. Huo Miao couldn’t help but let out a small cry of surprise as she stumbled forward into Huo Song’s arms. Before Huo Miao could react, Huo Song lowered his head to kiss her, his hands not pausing for a moment.

A soft sound echoed in the office as Huo Miao’s elegant and clean bag fell to the floor, ignored.

Meanwhile, following Huo Li’s instructions, Chen Qi personally took Jiang Ning for her onboarding. Jiang Ning was directly appointed by Huo Li, so there was no need for an interview or orientation process. In barely ten minutes, Jiang Ning had completed her entry formalities.

"Miss Jiang, this is your office, just arranged for you yesterday," Chen Qi said as he led Jiang Ning to an independent office, pointing to the next office and continued, "That’s President Huo’s office. He’s currently in a meeting, and he said he will come find you later."

"Okay," Jiang Ning nodded, glancing indifferently at the office next to Huo Li’s before she nodded again.

She walked into the office Huo Li had prepared for her. Although the office wasn’t large, it was fully equipped with everything necessary for work, including a sofa and coffee table for rest.

Chen Qi explained beside her, "This was rearranged only yesterday following President Huo’s instructions. If you need anything else, you can contact me."
