Chapter 755 - 750: Corpse Path Four

Chapter 755: Chapter 750: Corpse Path Four

"Still haven’t found it?"

Lin Xin sat in a luxurious residence within Hanzhong City, looking at the five disciples standing before him.

"Disciple and others have separately explored dozens of places, encountering quite a few zombies, but after dealing with them, we haven’t found the item Master described."

A beautiful female disciple reported helplessly.

"What about Lu Li?"

Lin Xin frowned.

"Eldest Senior Sister has already gone to the Western Ocean, where it is said that there is a region from which all living beings can only enter but not leave. She hasn’t yet returned."

Another male disciple quickly answered.

"We should not delay here for too long. Continue your search, and you can focus on Corpse King Jidu. As the oldest existing being in this world, resurrecting him may allow us to interrogate him and find out the whereabouts of what we seek."

Lin Xin instructed indifferently.

"Yes, Honored Master."

"Honored Master, how should we deal with the more than three thousand zombies discovered to the north?" the beautiful disciple continued to ask.

"Enslave them for hard labor. The strength of zombies is not bad, and their recovery ability is strong. Capture some large sea fish for them to suck blood and sustain their lives, and give them tasks like mining and forging to handle."

Lin Xin’s eyes were low.

"If there are any who resist, kill them and send them to the research academy to be used as fertilizer."

"Yes!"

After the five disciples left,

Lin Xin slowly stood up.

"We have searched for so long and still haven’t found the World Origin, nor any trace of the Boundary Stone... It seems we must revive Jidu and interrogate him to find a clue."

He had recently felt an ominous sensation; a great catastrophe was approaching, and with his evasion attribute, if he could sense such premonitions, then something bad might be about to happen.

"We need to speed up..."

He thought to himself.

At this stage, attribute points were not of much use anymore, but they still provided him with powerful abilities to evade and conceal his presence. This kind of foresight was excellent for seeking advantages and avoiding harm.

However, he had a feeling that there was more to attribute points than met the eye.

He had absorbed vast amounts of resentful energy from several Demon God Kings; how could it only have such a minor effect?

He had a feeling that his attribute points were also hidden, waiting for the day to suddenly burst forth.

With this in mind, he looked once again at his attribute panel.

He didn’t focus on the multitude of skills but only on the attributes.

"Could it be that I don’t have enough attribute points?" A thought crossed his mind.

His current attribute points seemed numerous, but in reality, they were only a few times that of an ordinary body-cultivating human immortal.

The spiritual light that bloomed behind his head was merely a qualitative change that naturally occurred when one’s body cultivation broke through the human immortal level.

But that didn’t mean his physical body was truly powerful.

"Perhaps I could try converting attribute points. My attribute points are mainly converted from the three aspects of essence, qi, and soul. It’s also feasible to use solely soul power for conversion, and absorbing souls and resentful spirits in this world is viable..."

"Report! Honored Master!!"

Suddenly a figure rushed in hurriedly.

"Signs of the Origin have been found!"

"What! Where?"

Lin Xin immediately stood up, overjoyed.

The newcomer was Wang Kongyan, her face flushed with excitement, her eyes filled with joy as well.

"Junior Sister Jade Fox organized many Taoist sects to investigate the data on Corpse King Jidu. They found ample evidence proving that Jidu himself is the World Origin we’ve been seeking!"

"Jidu himself?"

Lin Xin was momentarily stunned.

"Where’s the compiled data?"

"Here!"

Wang Kongyan quickly handed over a jade talisman.

Lin Xin took it, closed his eyes briefly, and a flood of information entered his mind.

When he opened his eyes again, they were shining, and a smile spread across his face.

"Indeed, it’s true! The darling of the earth! The World Origin is him! No wonder he is undying; now I get it... Locate the sealing site immediately, I want to personally unseal the other two Corpse King’s breaths!"

"We’ve already located one, and the last one will be found soon!" Wang Kongyan quickly said.

"Then let’s depart!"

Lin Xin shattered the jade talisman and walked out of the room.

Wang Kongyan followed closely behind.

*********************

The void, the Third Heaven.

In the expansive white Heavenly Realm, without borders or materials, besides endless white light, there is nothing else.

This is the white world.

All creatures, lifeforms, whether evil or kind, ordinary or extraordinary, are equivalent to the blind here, unable to see anything.

One can only move by relying on touch and smell.

In the immaculate void, several figures suddenly appeared.

One among them wore a copper mask, while the others covered their faces with black cloth, concealing their features.

"Fellow Daoists, this time the Heavenly Demon Army Master has agreed to cooperate with us, dispatching a large army to launch a surprise attack. If we don’t succeed this time, we must return to the battlefield within a day, or else the frontline will notice the withdrawal of our strength, and the battle situation may turn unfavorable," the man with the copper mask whispered.

"Old fellows like us have broken families and doomed prospects. What else is there to care about? Command us, Venerable. We are all determined to risk everything."

One of the figures spoke in a low voice, ancient and decaying, quivering as if it might give out at any moment.

"Then it all depends on you all," the copper-masked figure said with a cupped-fist salute, "We belong to the twenty-ninth squad, and there are twenty-eight squads of companions around us. If you see any, lend them a hand if you can."

"Understood!"

The crowd responded in unison.

"Alright, let’s move out!"

The copper-masked figure spoke indifferently, turned around, and lightly traced his hand through the air in front of him.

Immediately, the Third Heavenly Realm’s space was torn apart, revealing the blackness of the First Heaven’s void beneath.

He took the lead and flew out, followed by the others.

As everyone entered the First Heaven’s void, the surrounding space quickly twisted and tore, as if a tremendous force was constantly vibrating the void around them.

This invisible fluctuation spread rapidly and would soon be discovered by those on alert.

"Hurry! We can’t linger here for long!" the copper-masked figure said sharply.

At once, the group scattered, turning into black streaks as they flew toward the back side of Green Lake Mountain, towards the Void Spirit defense line.

In the dark void right in front of them, a black gold-colored behemoth began to stir and slowly awaken.

This dragon-like behemoth had wings on its back, yet they were not flesh; instead, they were made up of countless enormous human hands, lined up and woven together.

The white hands aligned in two rows, struggling on its back, attempting to break free, but to no avail.

"Those who trespass upon Green Lake Mountain shall die!!" the behemoth bellowed as it opened its gigantic eyes, unfurled its massive body that spanned dozens of Spirit Miles, and lunged forward with its huge mouth wide open, attempting to bite the copper-masked group as they darted toward it.

"Realm Artifact, Soul Stabilization," the copper-masked figure pointed a finger, and immediately the behemoth’s body stiffened for a moment.

In an instant, they by****d the side of the behemoth and disappeared into the void.

"Dammit!!" The behemoth roared in fury.

"We must notify the main sect at once!"

For someone to cause him to pause even for an instant, their cultivation level must be at least that of a Heavenly Venerable!

But with the front lines at a standstill, and a total count of Heavenly Venerables being so limited, with Shadow City barely having a dozen or so of them, where did these six powerful Heavenly Venerables come from?

The behemoth grasped the situation in a flash.

"No good! It’s a strategy to lure the tiger away from the mountain!"

It spread its claws, and instantly, an invisible glimmer of lightning shot out, tearing through space into other Heavenly Realms, heading towards the main sect.

After flying a certain distance, the copper-masked figure and the others abruptly scattered.

"Once you have taken care of your tasks, meet up at the designated spot for transmission, and please ensure that you Venerables do not delay!" the copper-masked figure urged quickly.

"Rest assured!"

"If I am held back, do not wait for me. It’s just one death!"

The group responded one after another.

The copper-masked figure’s heart was filled with a solemn feeling; Shadow City was making a desperate gamble this time.

With more than half of its dozen or so Heavenly Venerables redirected to launch a surprise attack on the main sect, they sought to snatch a sliver of hope in the midst of the impending disaster.

If they failed, then the entire Shadow City would have to greatly contract its battle lines, suffering a critical loss of elemental energy, and it would likely take tens of thousands of years to recover.

The individuals scattered and flew off, quickly disappearing into the void.

Among them, a slightly shorter elder, surrounded by a faint flow of wind and sand, flew directly toward the location of Lin Xin’s land for god worship.

Behind that spot lay one of the fifteen crucial nodes in the Void Spirit defense line.

Nether Realm

Outside the grove, Lin Yi was busy directing a large number of Taoist soldiers, continuously pulling the remnants and rubble from the surrounding void, absorbing them into the edge of the Nether Realm, and expanding its size.

Tens of thousands of Soul Reapers, thousands of snow monsters, and dozens of star demons were stationed around the entirety of the Nether Realm, guarding all potential channels of entry and exit.

Above the Nether Realm, dense layers of formation halos overlapped in numerous strata, so many that it was impossible to count them all. These formations, now consisting of nineteen layers of Sixth Rank arrays, were far more potent than the formations Lin Xin used when he was at the Fifth Rank.

Groups of Taoist soldiers were continuously maintaining and crafting within the Nether Realm, as numerous magic artifact blanks were forged, and then many cultivators were responsible for inscribing them with talismans and formations.

Over the years, the Nether Realm had cultivated a large group of Qi Cultivation disciples skilled in formations and talismans, with the least adept among them being at the Golden Core Realm.

This was the effect of the terrifyingly dense concentration of Heaven and Earth’s Elemental Energy.

It was also due to Lin Xin’s advantage of massively harvesting the most talented disciples.

By now, the Lake Mountain Sect had developed a fourth generation of disciples. These fourth-generation disciples were only able to travel within the small world before proceeding to the Nether Realm for further cultivation and advancement. With the realm shrouded by arrays, they had no knowledge of the outside world.

This generational power continuously added a vast foundation and depth to Lin Xin’s land for god worship.

Lin Yi, leaning on his Purple Jade cane, looked on with satisfaction at the orderly Nether Realm city before him.

A vast city had formed here, mainly comprised of structures built by Taoist soldiers.

Taoist soldiers and cultivators mingled together, harmoniously coexisting, with their residences mere moments away from each other.

"All of this is the master’s power," he sighed.

"It is no less than an ordinary mid-sized Taoist Sect. But I wonder, why the master is amassing such a great force in secret, what exactly does he intend to do?"

Lu Li suddenly appeared behind him, and the two stood atop a building surveying the entire Nether Realm.

"The master’s will is not something we can conjecture at will. By the way, I have had some bad premonitions recently, don’t know if you’ve felt anything..."

Being a star demon enhanced manyfold, Lu Li also possessed extremely formidable attributes, and his sense of danger was very sharp.

"You’d best be ready to battle at any moment. The great disaster that the master spoke of is upon us, and even with the Space Labyrinth, we won’t be safe."
