Chapter 750: Chapter 745 Changes 1

The other two disciples on the boat also possessed Golden Core Cultivation and sensed the abnormalities as well.

"We shall go and investigate first,"

they offered.

Lin Xin agreed, and soon saw the two leap onto the sea surface and cover dozens of meters in a few strides to land directly on the island.

The people on the ship were stunned, having never imagined that it was possible to traverse bodies of water in such a manner.

The recently acquired peripheral subordinate staff members were witnessing such fantastical Light Body Techniques for the first time in their lives. Instantly, they were awestruck, uttering words of admiration and grew even more reverent towards Lin Xin and his group.

Lin Xin stood quietly on the ship, waiting.

Before long, a message came from the disciples on the island.

"We found something!"

Lin Xin’s heart stirred, and he signaled for the boat to approach.

The sailors on the boat dared not disobey and quickly steered towards the small island.

Lin Xin naturally did not believe that the island was normal, being in a world where even ghosts could exist, there had to be other powers at play.

He disembarked and headed straight to where the messages originated.

The two disciples had used a Jade Talisman that consumed Spirit Jade to send the message, so only he received it.

Sensing the direction of the disciples, he quickly rushed over.

The island was rocky with jagged black stones and a small black lake in the center, where the two disciples who had gone ahead were standing.

"Honored Master, it’s here. We have checked nearby areas already and found nothing. However, the sensation here has grown even stronger",

one respectfully said.

"Did you go into the water?"

Lin Xin asked, frowning.

"We did, but it’s very deep, seemingly connected to the sea; it’s bottomless."

the other disciple quickly replied.

Nodding his head, Lin Xin released his spiritual sense close to inspect the lake.

His spiritual sense spread deep into the lake.

Ten meters, twenty meters, fifty meters, one hundred meters...

Lin Xin extended his spiritual sense endlessly.

After several minutes, he had extended it thousands of meters deep into the lake.

"How can there be such a deep lake in a shallow sea?"

he wondered.

But at that moment, something at the bottom of the lake seemed to sense his extending spiritual sense.

A mass of black suddenly surged from the lake bottom, rapidly approaching Lin Xin.

"Hmm?"

Although he guessed that a world completely devoid of other cultivators like the last one was a rarity, Lin Xin still felt a sank in his heart when he felt the foreign power.

It seemed this world might be troublesome.

With a splash, water erupted everywhere.

The black mass followed the lead of his spiritual sense, finally breaking the surface and appearing before the three of them.

It was a mysterious person in a black robe, floating on the surface of the lake, seemingly observing the three through a pitch-black cloak.

The mysterious person was entirely covered, without a single gap, emitting no aura of power at all, yet he managed to float on the surface without sinking.

Lin Xin, with his hands behind his back, stared at this person before him when suddenly a strange term popped into his mind.

Corpse Path...

*************************

Across the ocean, in the international metropolis of Andura City.

Inside Andura University, on a peaceful, harmonious campus pathway.

The sunlight filtered through the trees and scattered on the ground, warm and refreshing.

Yin Mingzhi and Yuan Xiaojing strolled leisurely along the shaded avenues of this ancient university.

"Since the Corpse King Jidu was completely sealed five years ago, how long has it been since we just casually strolled like this?"

Yin Mingzhi laughed and transmitted his voice softly.

He was a very charismatic man in a moon-white long robe, handsome and distinguished, tall with a touch of elegance penetrating the ethos of Xia Country.

Yuan Xiaojing wore a student skirt, a white blouse with a black short skirt, holding several textbooks in her arms, her appearance pure and her figure flawless.

She too smiled at his words.

"Zhihong went to South Asia; I wonder how she is doing now?"

"Looking back, it all seems like a dream," Yin Mingzhi sighed. "And Prague, probably still hunting for pyramids in Maya. Although we stopped the Corpse King’s ambition to destroy the world, he’s still restless, always looking for new mystical tales."

"After I complete my study abroad, I plan to return home. I heard that since I’ve been studying management here, a childhood friend of mine wants me to help manage her business. I plan to go straight back," Yuan Xiaojing said calmly.

"Looking back, a normal life isn’t so bad. No need to be chased by malevolent spirits, surrounded by mummies, Ghost Kings, Corpse Generals, flying Yaksha, and all in utter chaos."

"Now, a plain and uneventful life without any extra issues is indeed the best."

Yin Mingzhi also nodded with a smile.

"It’s just a pity about Hongde the Taoist Priest..."

At Yuan Xiaojing’s words, a seemingly unpleasant memory was evoked, and Yin Mingzhi’s originally smiling face grew dim.

"After returning, let’s visit Wuguan Mountain where the Taoist lived,"

"Yes."

"Corpse Path?"

Lin Xin squinted at the black-robed person before him.

The two disciples behind had their eyes lowered, displaying no signs of tension.

"Who are you?"

the black-robed person asked in a deep voice, his intuition telling him that the man before him might be difficult to deal with.

"Lurking in this lake so stealthily, who are you?"

Lin Xin asked indifferently.

The man in black fell silent for a moment.

"I am Jiuya. If the Taoist Priest is here seeking the art of Immortality, then please leave."

"The art of Immortality?"

Lin Xin was intrigued.

"The laws of Yin Yang and the universe dictate, this is not a place for mortals, please leave, Taoist Priest."

The man in black spoke again.

However, Lin Xin ignored him and instead looked toward the lake below, where after the man in black arose, a more immense and secretive aura faintly emerged.

It was the same aura as that of the Corpse Path.

"What is beneath here?"

He asked directly.

"That is something you should not touch."

The man in black Jiuya’s tone became slightly displeased.

"Taoist Priest, it’s better you leave quickly, there’s no fortune or opportunity here, only danger."

Lin Xin, who was already in search of unique locations and possible connections to the world’s origin, would not leave because of a few intimidation tactics from this man in black.

"Xiaoran, go and check it out."

He gestured for a disciple behind him to step forward.

"Yes, Honored Master."

The disciple stepped forward, and a short sword engraved with talisman runes appeared in his hand.

He walked straight towards the lake, not even glancing at the man in black, Jiuya.

"You!!"

Jiuya immediately became furious.

He kindly advised these people to leave, yet they completely ignored him.

There were no treasures or adventures here, just a Leading Talisman sealing the Corpse King. The Corpse King’s aura was extremely strong, and any slight disturbance could trigger the aura’s vibrations.

If it escaped, it would truly be a catastrophe for the world.

At that moment, Jiuya’s thoughts quickly shifted.

The lake water splashed, and a stream of water flew up, solidified into ice, and its tip turned into spikes, which whizzed towards the disciple.

Unexpectedly, the disciple counter-swung his short sword, precisely shattering the ice spikes.

A hint of a dark green light flashed on his short sword.

"Although I am not necessarily obliged to vanquish demons, if provoked, I am indeed prepared to eliminate threats," he said, staring at Jiuya, as green runes slowly lit up on his short sword.

Jiuya’s heart trembled, feeling an aura of righteousness from his opponent that he couldn’t ignore.

The aura he felt was even unmatched by that of the former Taoist Hongde.

"When did mortals become so formidable?" he wondered, promptly taking preemptive action as large numbers of ice spikes coalesced around him.

Hissing as they flew towards his adversaries.

The ice spikes were much faster and fiercer than before.

It cost him nearly half of his corpse energy.

Ice spikes came from all directions, targeting the three Taoists.

"Fire Sparrow!"

Xiaoran swung his short sword, and a fiery red bird flew out, encircling the trio and promptly dealing with a large number of ice spikes.

With another swing, the Fire Sparrow shot directly towards Jiuya.

Red flames instantly enveloped Jiuya, who couldn’t dodge in time.

"Huh? He can’t be burnt to death?"

Xiaoran initially thought the battle was over but surprisingly, in the midst of the flames, Jiuya remained entirely unharmed.

"Below lies the Evil Qi of a corpse ghost! It absolutely must not be touched by the living! Otherwise, a great disaster will befall the world!" Jiuya’s tone became more stern.

Initially, everyone had gathered from all around the world, each defeated by the Corpse King, Jidu. If not for Taoist Hongde sacrificing his sect’s precious treasure, the Jiuzhi Cauldron, and sealing Jidu,

the entire world might have fallen under Jidu, the Corpse King’s demonic clutches.

"Although you are mildly skilled, once the Corpse King’s energy is unleashed and Jidu is revived, not even a reincarnated Hongde could...."

"Enough prattle!"

Xiaoran swung his sword again, and a burst of dark red flames surged out, transforming into a Fire Sparrow, flying once more towards Jiuya.

Thud!

The flames instantly enveloped Jiuya, silencing all sound. Yet, the fire still couldn’t harm Jiuya.

"Corpse Path is targeted best with specific methods," another disciple remarked coolly.

"Yes, Senior Brother," Xiaoran nodded slightly, his hand swiftly producing several Talismans with a faint emergence of righteous white light.

The Talismans flew out, turning into white light midway, with faint phenomena of birdsong and floral fragrance reaching out directly towards Jiuya’s position.

Boom!

The white light struck Jiuya, dissipating the dark red flames, and the extensive ice layers Jiuya had consolidated were also shattered in one strike.

"Do not push me too far!"

He bellowed.

Hisss!

The white light instantly sliced several deep cuts into his flesh.

But immediately, these cuts began to heal rapidly.

"Interesting, don’t kill him, capture him,"

Lin Xin stated indifferently.

"Yes, Honored Master," Xiaoran nodded, his hand clenching as a dull white light completely enveloped Jiuya, quickly dimming and turning into a large white sack, slowly floating towards him.

The sack struggled violently but was utterly futile, unable to let even a slight sound escape.
