Chapter 579: Chapter 574 Support 8

"It’s alright, talking about it is good."

Lin Xin said indifferently.

What he was doing now was accumulating as many Attribute Points as possible and then finding an opportunity to go to Ta Hai Cliff to get in touch with the top Sects further afield.

As for other matters, unless they were related to him or Lin Yaoyang, everything else was trivial.

However, what he was still concerned about was a guy named Song Danhao.

He had learned the young man’s name from Gongshang Nuo.

It was said that not long ago, he had been expelled from Shen Luo Mansion, rumored to be colluding with the Demon Path, committing a great taboo. His master couldn’t even protect him, and had to expel him reluctantly as an indirect form of protection.

He had an intuition that Song Danhao might be hiding a big secret.

In the depths of the Northern Sea.

Qingyun Island.

White rocks covered the entire small island. Some tall rocks formed rock mountains, while shorter ones were hills and mounds.

Seawater lapped the shores, divided by the rocks into countless white foam before it slowly receded.

On one side of the larger grey-white rocks, amidst the turbulent waters, a grey-black boat over five meters long quickly approached the shore.

The few young men on the boat, dressed in guard uniforms, leapt agilely onto the rocks.

One of them, with an unsettled gaze and a full beard, looked mature, but his skin and eyes revealed that he was not old.

"This place is Qingyun Island, near San Wu Island and Dongchuan Island. Alright, everyone off the boat, we’ll be stationed here for three days. After three days, someone will come to relieve us, stay sharp, everyone."

The team leader, Captain Chen, shouted a few commands before leaping onto the rocks from the boat.

"Are we just guarding here, and if we encounter something too powerful, we signal a warning to our clan?"

"Not exactly, there is already a camp stationed here; we are just here for reinforcement." The captain explained casually.

The team members each responded in turn.

The bearded man did the same, cautiously surveying the surroundings.

Gongshang Baiyu had found this small island for him. It was close to San Wu Island, just a short boat ride away. There, he could use Lin Sherie’s name to fend off pursuit from those mysterious people.

After arguing with Lin Shangxiu last night, and narrowly escaping an ambush on his way back,

luckily his Escape Skill was exceptionally fast, or else he would have already been captured and tortured for information. As a result, he had become exceptionally sensitive, fearing another incident.

"Let’s go, head to the camp. There is a simple camp set up here by the family. Stay there first, and after we relieve tomorrow, we will plant the warning tree seeds."

Song Danhao nodded slightly and accompanied the others ashore, jumping from rock to rock in disarray.

He planned to hide behind Lin Sherie for a while, wait for the Demon Spirits to fall back, then directly take a boat to Tiancheng.

Compared to the mysterious organization that had been constantly after him, the cities under Shen Luo Mansion’s control were still somewhat safer.

Bang!

They had just gotten ashore when there was a muffled sound from the boat behind them—it split in two from the middle and began to slowly take on water.

"What’s going on!!?" Captain Chen’s face changed instantly, he drew his sword, and the others did likewise, drawing their waist swords and heading towards the boat.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, a grey shadow flashed by, sweeping past Captain Chen and then straight at the others.

Captain Chen fell headlong.

Thud, thud, thud!

One after another, the rest of the squad couldn’t react in time. Their bodies stiffened, and they could no longer speak, collapsing one by one to the ground, lifeless.

Song Danhao was shocked, his face turned pale, and he retreated again and again. He spat out a mouthful of blood mist towards the sky and then fell motionless to the ground.

The grey shadow slowly landed, revealing itself.

It was a middle-aged Confucian scholar in a grey robe, a lock of beard fluttering in the wind, hands behind his back, standing on the rock with a certain dignity.

He looked at Song Danhao with some confusion; he hadn’t even made a move, and this guy had already fallen to the ground, spewing blood. Could it be that he had inadvertently released his vigor?

He reached out to grab at Song Danhao from afar.

Song Danhao’s mouth squirmed, forcing out another mouthful of blood. His chest trembled; it seemed he was breathless.

"Dead? But I haven’t exerted any force yet!" The middle-aged Confucian scholar’s eyes held a trace of doubt as he stepped closer.

Shiick!

Song Danhao’s body suddenly lit up with a faint white light, dissolving rapidly into countless wisps of white smoke, shooting off into the distance.

The middle-aged Confucian scholar was taken aback, then scoffed.

"Faking death to escape? Personally pursued by me; I want to see just where you can escape to on this desolate island?"

He didn’t try to stop him, but simply slapped forward with his hand.

Immediately, the white light on Song Danhao became extremely unstable. He shuddered for a moment, and then his legs sped up, turning into white smoke that jetted towards the distance.

The middle-aged Confucian scholar also leisurely walked towards the island.

He no longer wanted to waste time. He decided to take action personally and take the item in question into his hands.

As for Song Danhao’s intentions, he understood them quite clearly.

If the Gongshang Family Head was not planning to protect him, then he could only turn to Lin Sherie, the second strongest force.

But as for Lin Sherie...

"Heh, sadly... I’m afraid you won’t live to see him come." The middle-aged Confucian scholar’s eyes shone with arrogance.

Moreover, he had endured a thousand years of hard cultivation; was he someone that a so-called genius kid could compare to with merely twenty years?

*********************

Song Danhao almost spat out a mouthful of blood, then hurriedly swallowed it back down.

Just now, having used the Aurora Escape Technique, he instantly broke free from the opponent’s control, but at a great cost—several major meridians within his body had been damaged to various degrees, rendering him unable to use the technique a second time anytime soon.

Crouched behind a pile of stone pillars on the island, his face was deathly pale, his body drenched in sweat, and he was breathing heavily.

"Damn, that was fast! Just you wait!" he cursed vehemently.

"Once I’ve grown stronger, I’ll uproot all you cowardly vermin hiding in the shadows, or I swear my name isn’t Song Danhao!"

Staggering, he rushed toward the encampment at the center of the islet.

There were Gongshang House guards stationed there, and likely a stalwart expert sitting in place.

Perhaps, with some luck, the enemy wouldn’t dare to brazenly storm the camp.

Stumbling along, he quickly arrived at a small depression in the center of the rocky island.

However, to his surprise, the banners inside the basin didn’t belong solely to the Gongshang House; there were also banners from two other families, the Kong Family and the Duanqing Family.

It turned out that both families had forces present here.

Standing atop the rocks and looking from afar, he soon spotted the Gongshang House expert patrolling inside the camp.

The man was tall and muscular, his eyes sharp and bright, carrying an oversized version of a black Water Dividing Spike on his back, with two long, slender daggers strapped along his legs.

"Is that Gongshang Wu, the fifth-ranked master of the Gongshang House? What’s he doing stationed here?"

Song Danhao was puzzled, but there was no time to think it over. Grabbing handfuls of dirt from the ground, he smeared it over his face and neck as he scrambled toward the camp in panic.

"Master Wu! Master Wu! We’re under attack! We’re under attack!"

He shouted at the top of his lungs.

From a distance, Gongshang Wu glanced his way, his expression turning serious and vigilant.

From amongst the other banners, a tall female of the Kong Family stood up, revealing herself to be Kong Xin, the second highest expert sent by the Kong Family for training exercises.

The representative from the Duanqing Family was Duanqing Long; originally seated cross-legged on the ground, his long hair tied up with a blue band, he slowly stood up upon hearing the commotion.

"Which team are you from!?"

Gongshang Wu had long been one of the formidable experts of Gongshang House, also a current inheritor of Secret Blood, possessing extraordinary strength.

At his roar, the ground around trembled with a rumble, causing small rocks and pebbles to roll and slide down.

"I am...," Song Danhao started to state his unit number when suddenly a figure appeared behind him.

It was the middle-aged Confucian Scholar.

He raised his hand and pushed it downward, pressing towards Song Danhao from afar.

"How dare you!!!"

Gongshang Wu, enraged, reached out towards the Confucian Scholar with both hands.

Within the shriek of the wind, a sharp Void Shadow abruptly struck the Confucian Scholar’s chest.

Both made their moves through the air, their unseen vigor clashing violently within the atmosphere.

Gongshang Wu’s body shook as he was forced to take three steps back, his expression one of shock.

His invisible Finger Force had actually been pushed back by his opponent.

To think that his seemingly simple Finger Force, honed over more than forty years in the Gongshang House, refined to Great Achievement and further amplified by the power of the Seal, was easily countered by a Demon General with a flick of a finger. And now, in face-to-face combat, he had lost?

"Impressive skills, who exactly are you!?" Duanqing Long said as he stood up, his voice cold.

The middle-aged Confucian Scholar cracked a smile, revealing a row of chillingly white teeth.

"You can call me Jin Ma."

"Master Wu! Honorable masters! It’s him, it’s this man! He slaughtered the family squad that came to guard and support us, all of them! Now, I’m the only one who has survived!" Song Danhao ’burst into a fury of rage’, pointing at the Confucian Scholar ’with tears streaming down his face.’

Below the several banners in the small encampment, there were also a few dozen people, including high-level experts like Kong Xin, Gongshang Wu, and Duanqing Long.

The three leading figures were likely of Demon Master strength level. If they were to join forces against the Confucian Scholar, they would surely be able to kill or cripple him.

Song Danhao sneered inwardly, now let’s see how you handle this.

What in the world was going on with this small island, suddenly attracting so many masters? Could it be that there was some secret? But this was also perfect, otherwise, I really wouldn’t have known how to deal with the situation.

While he was ’sobbing bitterly’, Gongshang Wu was already clashing with the middle-aged Confucian Scholar, Jin Ma.

The two exchanged blows one after the other, and Gongshang Wu’s face grew increasingly grim.

Clang!

Kong Xin drew her sword and shot forward, as the others quickly unsheathed their weapons and charged.

"Divine Sky Finger!"

The Confucian Scholar’s expression remained unchanged, and as numerous experts rushed toward him, he pointed a finger in their direction.

It was as if a fierce wind wall emerged out of the void, rapidly forming and pressing straight towards the crowd.

Kong Xin flipped into the air, scattering a shower of silver Sword Shadows as she descended.

"Star Moon Sword Style!"

At her shout, the Sword Shadows swirled towards the wind wall like silver quicksand.

Gongshang Wu also executed his invisible Finger Force at the same time.

Their combined assaults hit the wind wall, resulting in one muffled impact after another.

But to the astonishment of all, the wind wall relentlessly crushed the Sword Shadows and invisible Finger Force, dispersing them, and with only a slight diminishment, slammed mercilessly toward the crowd.

Bang bang bang bang!!

A succession of collisions resounded without stopping, with people from both the Gongshang and Kong families spitting blood and falling to the ground.

"Dragon Shadow!"

At that moment, Duanqing Long’s expression turned ice-cold as he suddenly unsheathed his sword.

A streak of azure light soared to the heavens, morphing into a pitch-black serpentine Sword Shadow with two horns, thrusting at the Confucian Scholar Jin Ma’s brow.
