Chapter 537: Chapter 531: Secret News 2
"Just for this?" the Demon Venerable frowned.
If it were just for this, Lin Xin could have simply conducted an equal exchange of interests with them, rather than making such a grand stir.
Lin Xin smiled.
"I also want to know how to resolve the secret technique of forcefully breaking through the realm."
As soon as these words came out, both of them felt their breaths tremble.
Forcefully breaking through the realm?!
Lin Xin had actually reached this stage; one must realize that every race’s bloodline has its Innate limits.
Back in their days, in order to break through the Innate limits, they had racked their brains, endured countless tribulations, and only then did they finally reach the extremity of the Underworld.
And after stepping into the Underworld extremity, any further progress became exceedingly difficult.
This stage was mostly based on enlightenment.
Turning back to the Primordial Ancient Times, tracing back to one’s origins.
Whether it was Demon Gods, Evil Gods, Heavenly Venerables, or those of the Demon Evil Path, it was the same for all three families.
Step by step moving forward until the world could no longer contain them, faced with no choice but to break through the realm.
And the secret technique to avoid breaking through the realm was the most precious within any of the families.
"You want the technique for preserving life essence, that can be arranged," the Heavenly Cloud Taoist Venerable mused and finally agreed.
"However, we must sign an agreement."
"What agreement?" Lin Xin raised an eyebrow.
"A non-aggression pact for ten thousand years," the Heavenly Cloud Taoist Venerable quickly exchanged views with the Demon Venerable and then declared aloud.
"Agreed."
Lin Xin naturally didn’t care about any non-aggression; his greatest wish now was to resolve karma and then go to the Mortal Realm to see it, as there seemed to be something he needed hidden there.
To relieve **** of pain night after night, it was imperative to find the root cause of the Underworld, and the same went for resolving the cause and effect with Red Leaves.
And all of this was predicated on him still being able to remain in this realm.
"However, I want additional compensation..." Lin Xin listed a long string of Sixth Grade Divine Weapons, Ancient Formations, and various types of Jade Marrow and other treasures."
The Heavenly Cloud Taoist Venerable and the Demon Venerable exchanged glances and both nodded.
"Then, let’s sign the agreement under the witness of the Illusory Sea," the Demon Venerable said as he took out a piece of greyish-white parchment with black symbols resembling rings of flowers on it.

The Yuan Dou Demon Sect suddenly retreated after having encircled the Heavenly Cloud Taoist and Shape-shifting Cave completely, with an overwhelming advantage.
The Sect Master Yuan Dou True Monarch disappeared into seclusion, and a great number of insects flew out of the Yang membrane, returning to the Outer Regions.
Everything seemed to have returned to the initial peace once more.
But whether it was the Central Prefecture or the other three prefectures, none could forget the terrifying and immense strength of the Yuan Dou Demon Sect, an even greater threat than the Red Spine Sect.
And the numerous massive cities that were destroyed. Countless families broken, wives separated from their children, scenes of human tragedy were everywhere to be seen.
The war formations started by the Yuan Dou Demon Sect were enough to crush anyone with their horrifying might.
The Central Prefecture was almost instantly severely wounded in vitality.
Yuan Dou True Monarch became the deepest nightmare in the hearts of countless people in the Central Prefecture overnight. Tales of his terror spread everywhere.
***************
Heavenly Cloud Dao—Celestial Garments Daoist Palace.
Within a small secret chamber.
The Heavenly Cloud Taoist Venerable, the big Demon Venerable from the Shape-shifting Cave, and two Xuan women from the Jade Pure Dao, the four strongest individuals of the Central Prefecture, have all arrived here.
The four of them sat opposite each other, yet all were silent.
The atmosphere was somewhat oppressive.
The gentle-faced Xuan woman glanced at the Demon Venerable and finally was the first to speak.
"Is that Yuan Dou True Monarch really so domineering?"
The Demon Venerable nodded gravely.
"Just as strong, if not stronger. I really don’t know how he cultivates; it’s as if he has no limits whatsoever."
"This person has become a threat to the entire Human Race, we must find a way to kill him! Otherwise, I fear our races may face the danger of being overthrown!" the Heavenly Cloud Taoist Venerable declared in a stern voice.
"Yuan Dou True Monarch also has an Undying Body, even if the four of us go together, it’s easy to suppress him, but killing him... I’m afraid that could be difficult," the Demon Venerable said with some helplessness.
"If this man is not removed, the world will be in peril! Demon Venerable must not speak lightly of giving up!" the Heavenly Cloud Taoist Venerable quickly persuaded.
"Now he has even obtained the secret technique for preserving life essence, free from the shackles of the world, I fear he might advance further. By then, even if we want to make a move, it might be too late."
"I am also aware of that," the Demon Venerable exhaled, "but breaking an Undying Body is easier said than done. And besides, there’s the agreement."
"The Undying Body... If we truly want to break it, it’s not without a method. And the agreement... we didn’t sign it," the Xuan woman with a cold demeanor suddenly spoke.
"Oh?"
This statement immediately attracted the attention of the other three.

Fifteen years later.
Shape-shifting Cave labyrinth—Black Mire Swamp.
In the center of the swamp, a massive Underground Palace was built, covering tens of thousands of miles.
Luckily, as it was located in the Outer Regions, near the membrane to the Human Underworld, as long as they drove the Outer Region creatures away, there was as much territory as they wanted.
The Underground Palace was square in design, and around it, numerous Guardians with the heads of bulls and bodies of humans patrolled back and forth.
Great herds of powerful demon beasts constantly flew in and out of the sky.
At that moment, at the entrance of the Underground Palace, the two mightiest lords of the Black Mist Swamp. The Demon King Butterfly and Leopard King Xu Ze, have appeared by the gates, standing still, waiting to greet the incoming guest.
Apart from them, there was also a large group of the Black Mist Swamp’s upper echelon, all standing in attendance, awaiting the imminent arrival of the visitor.
Soon, a black vortex suddenly emerged, and slowly a person walked out from its midst.
Clad in a black robe and a high headdress, with wide sleeves fluttering, he was none other than an ordinary-looking Daoist with a thin face.
"Welcome, True Monarch, the Great Elder has been waiting for a long time,"
The Demon King Butterfly stepped forward to initiate conversation.
With a voluptuous figure and a beautiful face, she spoke proactively, and nearly any male cultivator would give her some face.
The Daoist nodded slightly but did not give her a second glance, striding directly towards the inside.
Surrounding people, upon hearing the term ’True Monarch,’ all felt a tremor in their hearts.
How many True Monarchs are there in the entire Central Prefecture? This was one of the few individuals standing at the very summit of both the Human Race and Demon Race.
Originally, they had been unclear about whom they were supposed to wait for.
But now, they were all stirring up their minds, fearing that any inadequate hospitality might provoke the anger of the True Monarch.
Such a celebrity could easily crush them, such minor characters, with a mere glance.
The Leopard King, walking slightly behind, was speaking softly to the Daoist, seemingly answering a question posed by the Daoist.
Leading the way, the Demon King Butterfly continuously passed through various palace doors, while guards knelt on one knee and laid down their weapons in salute along the way.
Lights from formation after formation on the ground kept lighting up and then extinguishing.
"As soon as we received the orders from the main mountain, we immediately made preparations and notified the Great Elder Shan Lu, waiting for the True Monarch to arrive in person."
"I also thank the Shape-shifting Cave for its hospitality. Once I find the answers to the questions I seek, I will leave on my own. No need for further trouble on your part,"
The Daoist replied indifferently.
"The Great Elder Shan Lu is almost omniscient; he will surely be able to answer Your Excellency’s questions,"
The Leopard King said with a flattering laugh.
"Perhaps,"
For a while, there wasn’t much to say amongst them; the origins of this Daoist were unknown, and the main mountain did not elaborate, only emphasizing that they must receive him properly with all their might. Being unclear of the details, they naturally did not know his preferences.
The two Demon Kings, fearing they might offend the Daoist, did not dare to speak much, merely leading the way in silence.
Passing through several palace doors, they then descended along a spiral staircase. They traveled about several kilometers in distance.
Eventually, they entered an extremely vast underground space.
It was an even larger subterranean cavern.
Within the cavern was a massive mountain range, the peaks perennially snow-covered, with a white orb simulating the sun suspended in the sky above.
After the few withdrew and closed the entrance to the cave,
The Daoist floated alone in midair, looking off into the distance; the edge was nearly out of sight.
"I have come in person, where is Shan Lu?"
The Daoist’s spiritual sense spread out, covering the skies and surging down forcefully.
Suddenly, the atmosphere roiled with winds and clouds; the clear skies were abruptly overcast with clouds, with lightning flashing and thunder rumbling, all coinciding with the expansion of the Daoist’s spiritual sense.
This was merely the pure diffusion of spiritual sense, yet it triggered such a dramatic change in heaven and earth.
Soon, the ground began to shake gently.
A colossal white stag, standing up from the ground, was the size of a thousand miles with its stag head facing the Daoist, an intelligent gaze in its eyes, curiously looking at the other party.
"True Monarch Yuan Dou graces us with his presence; sorry for not greeting you from afar..."
The stag did not open its mouth, but its voice was perfectly drilled into the Daoist’s ears, not too loud or too soft, neither high nor deep, just right, giving a flawless and indescribable impression.
The Daoist’s expression remained unchanged; from foot to head, he suddenly burst into black fire, and after the firelight dissipated, he had returned to his original appearance. It was none other than Lin Xin, who had obtained the secret technique years ago.
Now in his original body, he had returned to his normal size, and even the natural spatial fractures around him had been erased.
Just like any other ordinary Daoist.
Shan Lu recognized Lin Xin at first glance; over ten years ago, the Demon Venerable had given him Lin Xin’s true appearance.
But now, with one look, a jolt struck his heart.
Lin Xin’s normally normal eyes had, at some point, turned dark red, flickering with unstable, violent blood lust.
"Are you Daoist Shan Lu?"
Lin Xin spoke softly.
"Yes," replied Shan Lu. "It seems your true body is experiencing some anomalies. Don’t you need to stabilize it first?"
"It’s an old problem," Lin Xin said indifferently. "I know your rules, Daoist. One can ask only three questions upon meeting someone."
"It’s good that you know," Shan Lu’s massive stag head smiled.
He was Shan Lu, although belonging to the Shape-shifting Cave, he was not really under the control of the Demon Venerable.
Because he possessed the strongest life force of any demon in the entire Central Prefecture, second to none.
He had no offensive abilities, yet he had terrifying defense and life force.
Shan Lu was undying, not merely in the sense of having an undying body or an undying form, but purely because his life force was overwhelmingly strong.
No being could kill him.
A True Monarch once tried to subdue him, disbelieving the myth, and cast spells for thirty-three years, expending countless resources and relentless attacks, yet couldn’t even breach Shan Lu’s fur.
It was as if he existed between matter and void, seemingly immense and boundless, yet without a physical form.
This was one of the oldest great demons, an ancient existence that had lived by the thousands of years.
It was rumored that Shan Lu had even lived through the Mythological Era.
