Chapter 430: Chapter 424: Repayment 1

The Demon Emperor exhaled a breath of green qi with a faint voice.

"So my Yuan Jing can indeed control him, but the consumption is huge. His strength from body cultivation is too great; it feels like I’m binding the physical body of a monster who has achieved great success in body cultivation. And what’s most terrifying is the recovery power and strength of his flesh. It’s like I can’t kill him even if he just stands there."

Thinking of this, Kun Ji still felt some lingering fear.

So, as soon as he returned, he invited his friend Shadowless. Unlike him, known for his unpredictability and lethal power, in collaboration with his pursuit, they had killed many strong and powerful individuals in many occasions, even teaming up to assassinate top figures from otherworldly beings.

After Shadowless’s arrival, his anxious heart felt slightly relieved.

"I still don’t believe it," Shadowless chuckled. "If you said he was a descendant of a primordial demon god, maybe I’d believe such a situation could occur. But just a member of the human race. It must be that Daoist friend you were careless. Or perhaps there was interference from another Yuan Jing."

"Many things heard are uncertain, only what is seen is believable. Wait till my wounds are healed, and we go together, then you will understand," replied the Demon Emperor Kun Ji, shaking his head.

"To witness someone who can fend off the questioning of a Yuan Jing, this I must indeed experience for myself," Shadowless said noncommittally.

"Moreover, unlike Daoist friend, no matter who it is, with me here to protect, Daoist friend you can be at ease for everything,"

There was a subtle hint in Shadowless’s tone that he looked down on Kun Ji’s killing power.

Kun Ji opened his mouth, as if wanting to say something but then thought better of it. He knew his friend was too proud and much stronger than him, unlikely to listen to any advice. Afraid that any more words would be useless, he gave up.

But inside, he couldn’t shake the feeling that this was not good.

In a verdant forest some tens of miles from Brahma Net Mountain.

Lin Xin walked slowly through the woods, carrying five intricately-made, but differently designed and colored Demonic Swords on his back. The sky was overcast with dense clouds, creating an oppressive atmosphere.

He moved very slowly, and after walking some distance toward Brahma Net Mountain, he came to a steady stop.

"This is the place."

Lin Xin looked up, his gaze seemingly piercing through countless trees to see Brahma Net Mountain surrounded by a range of mountains.

"Demon Emperor Kun Ji, let me give you a little welcoming gift..."

The corner of his mouth cracked into a strange, eerie smile.

Lin Xin slowly drew a golden longsword from his back.

The blade was wrapped in numerous white bandages which fluttered free with a tremor, falling around him like snakes.

Gently placing the blade down, the golden longsword suddenly floated midair, its blade slanting upward, pointing to the sky.

Hiss...

Lin Xin’s whole body suddenly transformed into a demonic figure, turning pitch black with spinal ridges and three right arms.

"Red Flower Sword Path..."

He said in an uncanny, soft tone, his eyes slowly turning from pitch black to a bloody dark red.

"Golden Scales!!!"

Hiss!!

The golden longsword vanished into the distance and shot up into the clouds, disappearing from sight.

********************

Brahma Net Mountain.

Great hordes of Serpent Demons and little snakes were quietly resting in the crevices of the mountain’s rocks.

Some Serpent Demons coiled around tree trunks, some lay diagonally by the brook. There were also giant pythons swallowing prey, and Green Snakes poisoning birds.

Countless snakes and Serpent Demons gathered around Brahma Net Mountain, which was their kingdom and home where no cultivator dared to wreak havoc, protected by the ancient Ancestor Kun Ji.

At the top of the mountain, near the sacred palace, was constantly coiled a giant white snake—Bai Er the Blessed.

Bai Er swallowed a few water buffaloes brought by its subordinates, then let out a satisfied burp, ready to lazily turn over and continue sleeping.

Suddenly its nose twitched and it flicked its tongue, as if it heard something.

Lifting its colossal head like a palace, Bai Er looked up at the sky.

In the cloudbank, a faint golden light was beginning to shine.

"What is that?" Curiosity gleamed in its eyes.

No sooner had two breaths passed than its pupils constricted in shock.

"This is!!!"

Before it could react, the gloomy sky was suddenly lit up. The small golden light point seemed to splinter, rapidly turning into a dozen, then dozens, hundreds, thousands!!!

The entire sky seemed filled with countless terrifying golden lights.

Hiss!!

A beam of golden light fell from the sky like an arrow, smashing down fiercely.

BOOM!!!

A massive explosion set off a blaze that caused the giant snake Bai Er’s body to shake violently.

"Ambush!!!" Bai Er roared furiously, its enormous body rising into the air, covering almost half the mountain.

"Everyone, take cover under me!"

Its vast body floated up, shielding the most crucial palace on the mountain’s peak and a part of its slope.

Hiss hiss hiss!!

At that moment, countless golden arrows rained from the sky, falling densely upon the mountain.

The massive golden flames exploded, burning the entire tranquil Brahma Net Mountain.

Countless golden arrows struck upon the White Snake’s body, each one causing its huge face to flash with a trace of pain.

Boom! Boom! Boom-boom-boom-boom!!!

The mountain trembled, the earth cracked, the forests ignited, and the red and golden lights mixed together, even tearing through the clouds in the sky with their bright hues.

In an instant, Brahma Net Mountain was engulfed in gigantic flames, as if surrounded by fire with no chance to struggle.

A multitude of Serpent Demons wailed and screamed in agony.

The Demon God’s enormous body was battered by the golden light, bloody and gruesome to behold, with many parts of its back broken and bones protruding.

But beneath it lay a great number of Serpent Demons of various kinds, whom it was guarding.

At the peak.

Shadowless’s translucent face turned an ashen blue as he held a huge battle axe that swirled like a ribbon in the air, leaving trails of dark streaks.

A dense shower of golden light descended from the sky, fiercely targeting him—or rather, the palace behind him—but all were blocked by him.

Clang! Clang-clang-clang!

Golden lights splattered everywhere, their intense number and scope pinning him down, rendering him unable to move from his spot.

"This power...!"

"It’s a one-use Talisman Sword!" he quickly identified the terror-inducing power of the attacks.

With a swing of his axe forward, a light screen emerged, forcefully blocking the abundant golden light falling from the heavens.

Kun Ji appeared swiftly at his side, looking up at the dense golden light in the sky.

"It’s that guy, I remember his aura..."

He said with a grimace.

"Since when did a one-use Talisman Sword become so powerful?"

"It’s not just a one-use Talisman Sword... this is the Infinite Golden Light Formation... and it’s an Offensive Great Formation with Fourth Grade power!" Shadowless, who was also adept at some Formation Talismans, said in an even more somber tone.

"The Infinite Golden Light Formation, activated by the Power of the Earth Vein, can attack all entities below the Third Grade Level en masse. It’s a special Talisman Formation powered by massive amounts of Earth Fire, one of the rare Third Grade Innate Formations! Without an extremely strong conduit to channel the Power of the Earth Vein, such a terrifying amount would be impossible!"

"Is there a way to break it?" Kun Ji quickly asked.

"Kill the formation’s leader, or use a formation to counterattack." Shadowless shook his head, his mood turning even more irritable as he listened to the Serpent Demons’ howls coming from within the mountain.

He had just assured that with him there, Brahma Net Mountain would surely remain unharmed, and now he was immediately proven wrong with countless deaths and injuries. How was he to explain this to Kun Ji?

"There’s not enough time for the second method, so we’ll have to choose the first," Shadowless said as a hint of white light slowly shone from the battle axe in his hands, and the side of the axe head showed the slowly roaring figure of a black three-eyed bull.

"Shadow Bull Demon... see through all illusion and cover, lead me to the path of victory..." he chanted the Curse Script in a low voice.

The axe head suddenly burst forth with the Void Shadow of a three-eyed demon bull, towering over a man’s height in mid-air, pausing momentarily, then heading straight for the distance, flying up and down.

Both Shadowless and Kun Ji’s expressions turned icy as they quickly followed.

*******************

After transforming into his Demon Body, Lin Xin stood still, looking up at the golden light in the sky, as if reflecting. Yet, it seemed as though he was waiting.

The golden light fell like rain, fiercely descending dozens of miles away.

His entire black body lit up with one Rune after another, a phenomenon where he himself served as the conduit, connecting with the Earth Vein and transforming it into the power of a Formation.

Whoosh-whoosh!

Two powerful figures, trembling the air itself, abruptly appeared in the forest in front of him.

One was half-translucent, wielding a dark battle axe—Shadowless.

The other was enveloped in green mist with a serpent’s head and human body, draped in a yellow robe—none other than the Demon Emperor Kun Ji.

Upon seeing the sudden appearance of the two, Lin Xin’s expression remained unchanged, but a wide smile split his face, revealing a mouthful of sharp teeth.

"You’ve come?"

Hum!!!

In an instant, the ground for miles around Lin Xin lit up with red light.

Threads of red silk emerged from the ground, entwining around trees, stones, cliff faces, and every living creature within reach.

The screams ceased in an instant. Every creature affected—relevant or innocent—was killed in a flash. All life within those miles was extinguished.

Lin Xin extended his crimson tongue and licked his lips.

"Kun Ji, do you like the gift I prepared for you? This is something I’ve delicately crafted for days~~~"

No sooner had the words left his mouth than numerous red threads burst from the trees around them, climbing toward the sky overhead, as if to wrap the entire forest into an immense red silk cocoon!

Both Shadowless and Kun Ji felt the intense change in the aura of Spiritual Energy and Demonic Qi, but neither paid too much mind.

For the likes of Yuan Jing, no matter how many Formations were laid, they were useless. Were it not for their concern that the whole of Brahma Net Mountain would be slaughtered, they would not have rushed to bother Lin Xin so urgently. After all, neither of them were cultivators of the type that excelled at wide-ranging deployments of Yuan Jing.

"No matter how much you prepare, you can’t escape the fate of dying today."

Shadowless’s voice was dark and threatening.

"Is that so?"

Lin Xin laughed eerily.

Slash!

As if teleporting, the black battle axe suddenly swept across his body, splitting him in two from right to left in one fell swoop.
