Eternal Swordmaster -
Chapter 424 - 418 - Fight Up
Chapter 424: 418 Chapter Fight Up
"One hundred and twenty thousand."
A casual voice rang out again.
Although Situ Rong’er spoke in a calm tone, her eyes faintly conveyed a hint of killing intent, all of her gaze focused on the Summoning Spirit King.
The competition between the two had reached a fever pitch; it was no longer merely about outbidding each other but had become a matter of face.
The Summoning Spirit King, clad in a black robe, had a hood with a silver-blue star pattern on its side, adding to his mysterious allure.
"City Lord Situ, it seems you intend to compete with me to the bitter end?"
"You started this, it’s none of my business."
The cultivators of their level, daring to come to the black market, each dominated their own territories like kings and ancestors, accustomed to acting tyrannically, just like Lin Xin’s conflict with the Flying Corpse King; such clashes were not uncommon here.
Such conflicts happened from time to time.
After all, having lived long and accumulated numerous aces up their sleeves, none feared the other. Even a Yuan Jing Cultivator, being crushed face to face, may not necessarily be killed outright.
Similar to the Flying Corpse King’s numerous clones, both Situ Rong’er and the Summoning Spirit King had their own life-saving measures.
Their confrontation became increasingly apparent.
The atmosphere grew tenser.
Clang!
Suddenly, a clear chiming sound emerged from outside Hall One.
The seated powerhouses seemed not to hear it, most sitting in their places, contemplative and unmoved.
Clearly, they trusted that the Jade Black Market organizers could handle any emergencies.
Suddenly, the disciple in front of Lin Xin made a move, her aura about to burst forth.
Smack.
A hand pressed firmly on her shoulder, forcing her back down into Lin Xin’s lap.
"You!?" the disciple turned her head furiously glaring at Lin Xin. Her right hand flickered, pointing directly at Lin Xin’s chest.
Her fingertip lit up with white light, seemingly surrounded by green tendrils of young sprouts, as she touched Lin Xin’s chest.
It was like a stone dropped into the ocean, causing no disturbance at all.
The disciple’s expression faltered.
"You overestimate yourself." Lin Xin sat unmoved, too lazy to even glance at her. A surge of vigor was driven into her body, causing her face to pale, and she vomited a mouthful of fresh blood, immediately quieting down.
Lin Xin’s gaze, however, was fixed on the Flying Corpse King across from him.
At that moment, the entire Hall One began to shake slightly, vibrations seemingly coming from outside.
The man in the silver robe snorted coldly.
"Please continue, everyone. Some petty fools are trying to disrupt our process. I’ll be right back."
His figure slowly faded, clearly heading out to check on the situation.
Not long after, a loud bang resounded.
The hall quickly returned to calm.
The disciple’s expression turned dire, a flicker of sorrow in her eyes as she realized she had lost the best opportunity, a sense of despair overwhelming her.
She remained sitting on Lin Xin’s lap, seemingly oblivious to the shame of it, as if frozen.
"Alright, continue."
The man in the silver robe reappeared, speaking indifferently.
Situ Rong’er and the Summoning Spirit King resumed their bidding, but after the recent commotion, both had calmed down emotionally, no longer as intensely competitive as before.
Soon, they exchanged whispers privately, and after a while, the Summoning Spirit King snorted coldly and remained silent.
The middle-aged Fourth Grade cultivator slave was ultimately won by Situ Rong’er, though the price had long exceeded the usual rate for similar items.
The auction thus reached a perfect conclusion. All was smooth and undisturbed.
The crowd slowly stood up, led out of the space by their guiding magic artifacts.
Lin Xin also looked around at the others, not immediately standing to leave.
He didn’t leave, so the disciple wouldn’t either, being a gift from the organizers to a guest. It was still Jade Black Market territory here, so exposure wasn’t permissible.
Lin Xin ignored her, his attention surreptitiously falling on the Flying Corpse King.
Only after he saw the other collect his belongings and begin to leave did he slowly stand up to follow.
Stepping out of the darkness, the surroundings suddenly cleared, naturally appearing on the outskirts of the black market.
The surroundings were a beautiful landscape of lush green mountains and clear waters.
Underfoot was a massive white stone altar-like disc.
All the cultivators leaving the hall stood on this disc, some with faint traces of dark glimmer under their feet, clearly just transported from inside.
A massive figure, over ten meters tall with a pig’s head and body covered in black fur, menacingly wielding a large black Wolf Fang Club, stood guarding beside the stone Formation, showing respect to those within.
"Welcome, distinguished guests, for your future visits." his voice boomed, the breath he expelled dispersing leaves, dust, and other debris around the edge of the Formation.
"No wonder the ground nearby is so smooth and clean."
Admiring voices emerged from the crowd.
As all present were top experts, the surprising emergence of such a goofy voice immediately drew everyone’s attention, looking towards the speaker.
The man was a middle-aged uncle with a full beard, dressed in tattered hemp clothes, and wore only one shabby black grass shoe. With his disheveled hair, it was a surprise that someone of such dignified status could enter the trading hall to conduct transactions.
This surprised the people present.
"He can actually enter the trading hall?" A woman by Lin Xin’s side said softly, her eyes full of disdain. "Such an impolite man. Doesn’t he know that his appearance and cleanliness are a form of respect to the sight of others?"
"Hahaha, let’s go, let’s go, at least we’ve seen something today."
The man laughed and then turned to leave.
"Since the Demon God of Beauty has left, let’s go too." On the other side, a man as handsome as a woman smiled and turned to leave with a little one in tow.
"Huh?"
Lin Xin’s gaze shifted, and when it fell on that man, he suddenly let out a light gasp.
"Never mind, I’ll deal with it later. There are more important matters at hand."
He withdrew his gaze and looked towards the Flying Corpse King.
The latter was also staring at him, with murderous intent in his eyes.
Although at their level, everyone knew it was unlikely to easily kill the other party, unlike others, the Flying Corpse King was always feared by other strong beings because, being a lone wanderer without any subordinates, relatives, or disciples, he had no attachments.
Alone in the world. Such beings were always the most terrifying.
If you couldn’t kill him, you could only wait for him to slowly seek revenge on your family, descendants, and bloodline.
"It’s a pity... the most important thing now is to secure and store the items obtained from the trade. I’ll teach this guy a lesson later."
The Flying Corpse King shook off his thoughts, soared into the air, and without any further action, flew off into the distance.
Lin Xin also leapt lightly, and once he was in mid-air, his feet suddenly kicked out.
With a bang, the air beneath him burst open, forming numerous white cracks, and a strong current of air blasted out, spreading in all directions.
Amidst the booming sound, his entire figure vanished from the spot.
"Hehe, this is going to be a good show."
Situ Rong’er and the Fire God Child among others also noticed the commotion.
"How about we go together?" Situ Rong’er suggested.
"Glad to join the fray," the Fire God Child, who loved turmoil and had a prior agreement with Lin Xin to help him refine the Fire Scythe Pill, naturally didn’t want anything untoward happening to him.
After speaking, they too soared into the air and chased in the direction where the Flying Corpse King and Lin Xin had disappeared.
Faintly, a few shadows in the air suddenly caught up and likewise vanished into thin air.
The remaining cultivators dispersed quietly, some hesitated but eventually chose not to follow.
Many people recognized Situ Rong’er and the Fire God Child; a battle of interest to such eminent figures, though curious, was too dangerous for cultivators below Fourth Grade to even observe—it could likely result in their demise.
Thus, more people chose to leave.
Soon, the people on the stone formation had almost completely disappeared; the giant with a pig-head hesitated and then clenched the jade pendant around his neck, notifying his higher-ups of the events that had transpired here.
***********************
In the serene and beautiful sky over a valley,
the Flying Corpse King was flying rapidly, having just skimmed past a gray-white rock wall on one side of the valley.
Suddenly, a stone shot from a distance, forcefully striking the rock wall less than ten meters ahead of him.
Boom!!!
The rock wall exploded violently, a stretch of more than ten meters wide of rock directly smashed, tumbling down below.
Stone chips and moss, stirred by the blast mixed with dust, flew upwards, nearly obscuring all visibility around him.
"Who?"
The Flying Corpse King abruptly stopped and turned back.
A black silhouette stood in the void behind him, its eyes dyed red like blood, gazing faintly at him.
"Hand over the Silkworm Moon White Sword," Lin Xin said indifferently, looking at him as if he were a ordinary cultivator passing by, with a slightly condescending air.
"Is it you?" A trace of amusement appeared suddenly on the cold face of the Flying Corpse King. "I didn’t come after you, and you should have been grateful to the heavens for sparing your life, yet you had the audacity to chase me?"
"Surrender the Demon Sword, sever your own arm, and I might consider sparing you," Lin Xin said indifferently, not wanting to waste words, but his statements made those who were following shudder.
This was a tempo to incur a deadly enmity.
The Flying Corpse King was initially stunned, then his expression became amused.
He scrutinized Lin Xin carefully, his gaze growing more dangerous.
"It seems I, the Flying Corpse King, haven’t acted in the Cultivation World for a long time. Now any youngster who comes along thinks he can bark madly in front of me...."
He smirked, then turned completely around and flew towards Lin Xin.
Still in midair, his body instantly transformed, one arm becoming a gigantic black serpent and the other a massive red scorpion tail, as his vast Demonic Qi spread like a hurricane in all directions.
As a peak Dao Seeking master who could be invited by the Emerald Black Market to enter Hall Number One, the Flying Corpse King was one of the top existing forces beneath the Yuan Jing in the Central Prefecture.
If it had been a Yuan Jing Cultivator, no matter, but the one speaking arrogantly before him was a nobody who had appeared from nowhere.
"Aspiration to assist the enlightened! Fury of the surf!"
The eyes of the serpent his arm had transformed into lit up, turning white, and with a sudden open mouth, it blasted towards Lin Xin.
Boom!
A huge mass of dirty water, mixed like chaotic filth, transformed into a pillar of water, sweeping towards Lin Xin.
