Chapter 421: Chapter 415 Interlude Part 2
There were a total of twenty seats, and people continued to emerge from the surrounding darkness, slowly taking their places on the seats.
Among these individuals, some did not conceal their identities, men and women alike, most of them exuding mighty auras, clearly not ordinary cultivators.
Lin Xin walked slowly out of the darkness and sat down in a chair around the crystal column.
"Has the Desolate Jade Pavilion’s seat been changed?" A gorgeous woman to Lin Xin’s left spoke up, her eyes filled with curiosity as she looked at him.
"I remember it was that guy who came last time."
"What do you mean?" Lin Xin frowned and asked.
The beautiful woman immediately showed a look of surprise.
"You came in here without understanding the situation? That’s really..." She said helplessly, "This is Hall One, the most prestigious top-tier trading hall of the entire black market. It has the strongest security and confidentiality. The entire Desolate Jade Pavilion only has one seat in this black market. But since they never found anyone with enough weight to take it, they’ve always sold it to someone else to come in."
"I see." Lin Xin smiled, "Thanks for the explanation. May I know how to address you?"
The beautiful woman giggled, yet did not speak.
"Not even recognizing Situ Rong’er, looks like you really are a greenhorn."
An elderly man in black to the other side spoke in a chilling tone.
"And who might you be?" Lin Xin turned to the man, his tone naturally matching the other’s lack of courtesy.
"What are you! Daring to speak to me like this?" The old man’s eyes lifted, a pair of eerie pitch-black eyes suddenly fixing on him.
Hiss...
Amid a faint sound, layers of pitch-black ice began to spread slowly from the ground beneath Lin Xin’s feet, intending to completely freeze him.
"Let’s see if you’re qualified to be in Hall One!" the old man said coldly.
"Seems like if I don’t kill a few people, any Tom, Dick, or Harry dares to bark at me," Lin Xin’s mouth also turned cold.
With his terrifying physical condition, he merely lifted his foot slightly.
With a rustle, all the black ice immediately shattered and fell to the ground.
Whoosh!
He suddenly lunged forward, appearing in front of the old man as if teleporting, and threw a punch.
"Endless!"
Despite his chilling demeanour, the old man raised his right palm, blocking it in front of Lin Xin.
Boom!!!
A terrifying explosive sound detonated from where the two clashed.
The erstwhile confident old man’s expression suddenly changed, his arm snapping backward as if it were a withered branch.
Lin Xin’s fist grazed past the old man’s ear, tearing half of it away with a swishing sound.
Intense pain made the old man roar involuntarily.
"You’re seeking death!!!"
A green light surged around his body, as if something was about to burst out from within him.
"Both of you, please stop."
Suddenly, transparent ripples appeared between Lin Xin and the old man, and everyone saw both of them vanish at the same time, only to reappear in an instant. Lin Xin returned to his seat, and the old man reappeared back in his original chair.
This turn of events bored the other cultivators who hoped to watch a good show.
"What’s this, interfering right at the start? It’s been a long time since a newcomer dared to openly challenge the Flying Corpse King; couldn’t you have interrupted later?"
A child wearing a red golden hoop immediately complained.
"Unfortunately, such behavior breaches the rules," the two armored women guarding the crystal column replied in unison.
By their side, out of nowhere, appeared a mysterious figure shrouded in a silver robe.
"Since he could effortlessly break the Flying Corpse King’s Corpse Poison Profound Ice, doesn’t that mean his qualifications for Hall One have already passed? Further provocation is a pointless fight."
The figure spoke indifferently.
"Boring." The child with the golden hoop pouted, apparently dropping the argument.
"Fire God Child, there’s no need to be impatient. The auction items arriving today will certainly enable you to return fully satisfied."
The figure spoke with a light, smiling voice.
"I hope so," the Fire God Child replied, returning to his previous indolent attitude.
"You’re lucky, kid," said the old man, the Flying Corpse King, his eyes full of deadly intent as he stared at Lin Xin.
"I’ll be waiting outside for you when this is over," Lin Xin replied, his eyes narrowing.
This provoked the Flying Corpse King to a fury, almost unleashing his wrath once more.
But seeing the man in the silver robe was also present, they ultimately held back.
However, Lin Xin had already swiftly gathered information about these two people in his mind.
When he had been in the Yuan Dou Demon Sect, he hadn’t been idle either, these renowned top-tier figures, he had made use of the Yuan Dou Demon Sect’s information network to commit to memory.
The Flying Corpse King, according to rumors, is a terrifying Undying Taoist hidden in Jade Lotus Valley. He is not a Yuan Jing Cultivator, and his combat power amongst Dao Seeking powerhouses could only be considered mediocre. However, his most notable feature is that even Yuan Jing Cultivators are reluctant to provoke him without good reason.
That is Undying!
No one knows how many bodies he possesses. According to the intelligence network, he has been killed by external forces dozens of times, but each time, it doesn’t take long for him to reappear unscathed, even his cultivation intact.
Thus, eventually, even the old ancestors at the Yuan Jing level grew tired of dealing with him, allowing him to turn Jade Lotus Valley and several nearby small cities into his own territories.
Fire God Child, on the other hand, is an old ancestor from the Fire God Palace located in the northwest. It is said that he reached the apex of Dao Seeking hundreds of years ago and has remained on the cusp of advancing to Yuan Jing. Due to his advanced age and powerful accumulations, he has countless trump cards.
However, due to insufficient potential, he does not make it onto the showy Spirit List, and thus is not well known. But he should not be underestimated.
The Spirit List primarily records top-ranked experts who have the potential to ascend further, and moreover, these individuals are generally not too old.
Like Fire God Child, such an old fellow’s potential has been exhausted; he merely extends his life with secret techniques, so naturally, he isn’t included on the list.
Even so, Fire God Child has faced multiple Yuan Jing Cultivators head-on without perishing and is a perverse figure of the old guard.
Lin Xin’s mind flashed through snippets of these profiles, and seeing the Flying Corpse King glaring at him with a vicious stare, he also subtly emitted a hint of killing intent, confronting him.
The injuries on the Flying Corpse King had completely healed, but he seemed to be wary of the authorities here and did not strike again.
The surrounding guests had also come to understand the level of Lin Xin’s strength and said no more.
After surveying the crowd, the man in the silver robe declared in a clear voice,
"Let’s begin now. We’ll start by viewing the auction items. If any of you wish to make a purchase, please place your bids directly. Transactions can be made using Spirit Jade or Spiritual Marrow, of course equivalent items are also acceptable. We have appraisal Masters here, but note that on-the-spot conversion of goods requires a ten percent conversion fee."
"As always, it’s just as dark as ever." City Lord Situ Rong’er said with a light chuckle.
"You jest, City Lord," the man in the silver robe seemed to treat her with great courtesy.
Soon, the crystal column gently rippled, and the auction scene displayed above became increasingly clear.
On the white auction stage, a glamorous woman in a sexy red dress gracefully made her way up, releasing a shower of golden sparkles from her hand.
"Welcome, everyone, to the Emerald Auction. I’m still your old friend, Song Ni. Time is precious, so I’ll skip the pleasantries. You must have already seen the metal cages behind me."
Song Ni laughed charmingly, stepping aside to allow her dress slit to reveal a tantalizing glimpse of her long, round, ivory-like thighs.
Inside the cages were strong men with haggard expressions, seemingly bearing numerous Talisman Formations engraved on them.
These men were naked, using their hands and feet to cover their sensitive areas, their eyes full of shame and pain.
"These are the surviving disciples from the Nangong Family’s Blood Sword Villa, which had their clan exterminated not long ago. The Villa Master of the Blood Sword Villa became mad with cultivation and expansion ambitions, thus inviting disaster.
After their defeat, a total of three hundred and five survivors were reduced to slavery, with the base price for each being one Spirit Jade, Heart Level at three Spirit Jades, and Intent Level at ten Spirit Jades. The master-slave seals have already been imprinted. Ladies and gentlemen, please feel at ease to enjoy."
Lin Xin looked at the scene within the crystal column, openly trading cultivators and even those at the Intent Level, no wonder this black market was infamous; it was truly reckless.
Moreover, such brazen activity still standing firm to this day clearly indicates deep waters behind the scenes.
This kind of trade, which defies the heavens, is perhaps something not even one or two Yuan Jing old ancestors-level forces could carry out without consequence.
"That Blood Sword Villa truly is pitiable, angering that person of all people. Now, their fate is sealed, tsk tsk." A yellow-robed, bald man chuckled.
"In this Seven Section Bamboo incident, that person also participated, just happening to lack a piece of Blood Spirit Stone, and that’s why they sought out the Blood Sword Villa. The real reason should be this," the Fire God Child mentioned casually.
"At such a time, failing to obediently surrender and not having the support of a powerful patron, yet still trying to resist, they have no one to blame but themselves for their misfortune."
Someone sneered coldly.
Soon, the first batch of male slaves was sold. Auction host Song Ni then brought out a box containing the Ten Thousand Year Water Heart, an extremely peculiar plant. After growing for ten thousand years, it bears a heart-like fruit that aids in longevity and is a common main ingredient in Lifespan Extension Pills.
Once this item was introduced, it immediately caused a frenzy.
A throng of cultivators began feverishly bidding, with the price skyrocketing to over three thousand Spirit Jades in no time.
Some representatives of power-hungry factions directly stood up, threatening others.
Lin Xin, however, didn’t react. The magic artifacts he had thrown out earlier, if converted, amounted to tens of thousands of pieces, but that wasn’t his primary goal.
In the end, the Ten Thousand Year Water Heart was bought by a young female voice from Hall 2. The final price was three thousand eight hundred Spirit Jades.
Afterward, a Fourth Grade magical blade formation, a prized possession among demonic cultivators, was claimed after heated competition.
Then, one after another, unusual treasures and magical artifacts made their way to the stage, and the atmosphere grew increasingly hectic.
But what caught Lin Xin’s attention was that few of the top-tier experts in Hall 1 made any moves. Even after dozens of items had passed, only one or two had actually bid and won a few things. The rest remained motionless.
Lin Xin also noticed a few items that caught his interest, nearly meeting his needs, but in the end, he shook his head and refrained from bidding.
Roughly three hours later, the crystal column’s auction finally concluded. Song Ni stepped down, and a massive crowd of cultivators began to depart.
The crystal column gradually dimmed, no longer displaying any images.
"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, the private trade for our esteemed guest halls will now begin," announced the man in the silver robe.
