Chapter 417: Chapter 411 Deal Part 2

Lin Xin looked again at his Third Grade Magic Artifacts like the Red Flower Sword.

Third Grade offensive Magic Artifacts were also prohibitively expensive.

The cheapest were at least a few hundred Spirit Jade, and the expensive ones could even reach thousands. At such prices, he didn’t know who could afford them.

Considering that he was the Crown Prince of the Yuan Dou Demon Sect, his yearly share of Spirit Jade was only a few hundred pieces. Without counting the Spiritual Marrow, even he couldn’t afford to buy many Third Grade Magic Artifacts in a year.

Third Grade, or Intent Level Magic Artifacts, were truly luxurious items.

As for Fourth Grade offensive and defensive Magic Artifacts, he flipped through the selection for quite a while but didn’t see a single one, which meant either they weren’t brought to the black market, or there were none for sale at all.

As he wandered between the stone houses, Lin Xin still hadn’t found anything of interest despite holding the crystal slab. However, he noticed a button at the very bottom of the slab.

It was inscribed with "Rent stone house to sell items."

In his Storage Crystal, he had a large amount of loot plundered all along the way, which he could take this opportunity to deal with.

So he directly pressed the button to rent a stone house.

Immediately, the interface flashed, and three types of stone houses appeared in the middle of the screen.

Third Level, Second Level, and First Level, with corresponding prices: one hundred Shell Gold, five hundred Shell Gold, one thousand Shell Gold.

He chose a First Level stone house and then selected the option below for mixed item sales. An address then appeared above.

’For mixed items, please go to Purple Appraisal at number fifty-three in the fourth row for valuation.’

Following the address, Lin Xin headed straight for the fourth row.

More and more hooded figures were entering and leaving the stone houses, seemingly indicating that the trading frequency here was quite high.

"Stop right there."

"You can’t run away."

Not far away, someone had just exited a stone house and was immediately surrounded by several people. A faint murmur of voices could be heard, and then the figure was led out of the market by the group, clearly targeted for robbery.

It was against the rules to engage in combat inside the market.

From time to time, people would rush up into the sky at high speed to fly away and escape. Others would use escape skills and disappear in the blink of an eye.

Since everyone wore black robes, it was difficult to distinguish who was who in the darkness.

There were also two groups confronting each other, and at first, it looked like they were about to fight, but listening carefully revealed they were actually bidding against each other.

Shaking his head with a wry smile, Lin Xin quickly arrived at the purple appraisal location recorded in the address.

The appraisal place was a triangular purple stone building. Inside it resembled a counter, with a jumble of stones, leaves, blocks, meat granules, and even weapon fragments and creature eggs.

Two young women in purple were sitting behind the counter appraising items for customers.

There was also a young man leisurely drinking and perusing a small booklet by the side.

There weren’t many people getting appraisals in the shop, only three or four, but considering there were more than ten appraisal places in this row, the density of customers was quite good.

Lin Xin waited for the people in front of him to finish their appraisals and get their results recorded on their crystal slabs before stepping forward.

"Good day, what items would you like to have appraised? Is it for simple appraisal or for evaluation with the purpose of trade?" one of the young women in purple asked softly.

Her long hair flowed freely, her features delicate and charming, with a touch of blusher and powder on her face, and a fragrance that wafted to his nose. The purple attire hugged her body, clearly outlining her figure, which was somewhat enticing.

"I need to appraise some mixed items; I have quite a few." Lin Xin spoke indifferently.

"No problem, we have two people here capable of appraising up to Fourth Grade special artifacts. You can place your items directly into a storage space, and we will take them out one by one for appraisal."

The girl smiled sweetly, her demeanor friendly and her looks attractive, giving one a good impression.

"Then I’ll trouble you with this. Here are the items I need appraised."

Lin Xin handed her a small black storage ring.

She took it, her aura of cultivation momentarily flickering across her body, apparently releasing spiritual power to inspect it.

"Xiuxiu, come here, we have a big client over here!"

Suddenly, the girl beside her grabbed her, interrupting her actions, and hurriedly pulled her toward the other side.

"What’s the matter? I’m still appraising for a customer here; can it wait?"

The girl being pulled frowned in haste as she spoke.

However, the other girl was unyielding.

"We’ve got a Platinum level client; put the other customers on hold, don’t worry about them. If we can clinch this deal, you won’t need to work on appraisals for at least half a year!"

A hint of temptation flashed across Xiuxiu’s face, but she quickly hesitated and stopped moving.

"But I’ve already promised someone here."

"Why bother with so much! Just make up some excuse to have him wait."

Their conversation was whispered, completely unaware that Lin Xin, standing on the side, could hear everything loud and clear.

"But..."

"Oh, stop with the buts! As long as we get that platinum customer to consign with us, our whole consignment store will get a share of the profit! Hurry, hurry!"

The girl hurriedly pulled Xiuxiu toward another counter.

With no other choice, Xiuxiu had to put Lin Xin’s ring on the table.

"I’m sorry for the inconvenience, there’s an emergency. Could you please wait a moment?" She chose to put aside Lin Xin’s items first and deal with the platinum customer next to her.

Lin Xin’s expression remained unchanged as he glanced to the side, where a young man with a pale face and a folding fan stood without any mask or cloak to hide himself, casually attended by a few maids and guards, waiting for his items to be appraised.

His own business was set aside, while this newcomer received service first, which displeased Lin Xin.

"Shouldn’t we honor the principle of ’first come, first served’?"

He spoke out directly.

Xiuxiu and the girl both heard him and turned to look at him immediately.

The girl scrutinized Lin Xin’s demeanor but seemed unable to discern much due to his well-concealing black robe.

However, seeing the storage ring he took out, which was merely a common Black Ring that couldn’t contain living things, she guessed he was unlikely to be an important figure.

"Dear customer, our consignment store has its rules. Platinum customers have the right to be served first, so please be understanding."

Her words sounded legitimate, and if Lin Xin hadn’t heard their private conversation, he might have actually believed her.

At the same time, Xiuxiu was whispering to her.

"Since when does our store have such a rule? Nana," she asked, puzzled.

Nana, however, unconcernedly whispered back,

"It’s just an excuse, who cares? He’s just an ordinary customer, after all. We have plenty of those. Focus on the platinum customers—that’s what’s important. Don’t be silly!"

She pulled Xiuxiu to stand in front of the young master with the folding fan, beginning to check the value of the items in his Storage Crystal.

Lin Xin shook his head internally,

and reached out to pick up his ring and left the appraisal area. He glanced back at the signboard above, ’Wan An Appraisal’.

Inside, neither of the girls paid any attention to his departure. Both were preoccupied and flustered by the valuable items extracted from the young master’s Storage Crystal.

The young master with the folding fan seemed to have an astonishingly keen perception; he sensed Lin Xin looking at him from behind.

He turned his head and gave Lin Xin a slight smile, though its meaning was unclear.

The young man who had been drinking wine put down his book, giving Lin Xin a brief, indifferent glance.

"From now on, do not bother explaining too much. For platinum customers of the White Jade Young Master’s caliber, provide immediate service,"

he chastised Xiuxiu through telepathy.

"But..." Xiuxiu’s movements slowed. She wanted to object but was interrupted by the young man.

"No buts. If we miss a big transaction because of this and the boss finds out, both of us will be in deep trouble,"

the young man said with a frown. "Alright, enough. Focus on the appraisal and let’s put an end to this matter."

He also rose to his feet and walked over to the White Jade Young Master, clearly acknowledging the young master’s status and the necessity to greet him personally.

Lin Xin was at a loss for words. He could understand a store prioritizing profit over the treatment of ordinary customers, but when it happened to him personally, it felt rather irritating.

Just as he stepped out of the store, right beside him, a smaller shop happened to have a girl with eyes like juicy peaches, seemingly ready to drip with water at any moment.

With long hair cascading down and dressed in a tight black dress with a cinched waist, she came out to greet him.

"Dear customer, we at Desolate Jade Appraisal can appraise your item," she said with a hand over her mouth and a giggling smile, glancing at Wan An Appraisal.

"Their store has always been like this. They always have the highest appraisal level and the most formidable appraisers, so they’ve always bullied their patrons because of it."

She seemed to carry some animosity toward Wan An Appraisal.

The delicate voice continued,

"If you don’t mind, our Desolate Jade Appraisal might have appraisers of a lower level, but we are honest and trustworthy. You can take your time in our store, and we only symbolically charge one Jade Money per item for appraisal. And if you consign with us, the appraisal is completely free!"

"It’s you again! Shen Ning!" The young man from Wan An Appraisal frowned, staring coldly at the peach-eyed girl as he spoke harshly.

"What about it? What’s it to me? Just because Wan An doesn’t want a guest, does that mean Desolate Jade can’t take over? In this vast appraisal street, is your Wan An the only one who’s allowed to reign supreme?" Shen Ning answered back defiantly.

Indeed, Wan An was the largest and most authoritative appraisal store here. While Desolate Jade had the capital, appraisers were not easily cultivated, as they required many things beyond knowledge and cultivation—they needed a strong discernment to avoid mistakes.

For a long time, Wan An has dominated the area because they had a Fifth-Level appraiser on site, acting aggressively and monopolizing most of the platinum customers and almost all of the business in this district.

But Desolate Jade refused to concede, having the background and strength to compete, but falling short in terms of appraisers...

Thus, they’ve been constantly at odds with Wan An.

"You don’t want the customer, we do. What’s the problem?" Shen Ning pulled Lin Xin toward the nearby Desolate Jade store.

"Just an ordinary customer, you think you’ve found treasure? Hope you don’t end up embarrassed when you appraise trash." The young man sneered dismissively, losing interest in the confrontation.

"It’s not about treasure; it’s about attitude!" Shen Ning countered with the same disdain. "Business thrives on harmony. You really think you’re irreplaceable and can treat customers however you please, haphazardly dealing with them? With such an attitude, hmph, just wait and see. Even if we appraise trash, it’s our Desolate Jade’s business."

Without wasting further words, she pulled Lin Xin into the Desolate Jade Appraisal store.
