Chapter 381: Chapter 375: Journey 3
Just at the moment when the entire carriage froze, a powerful aura thunderously descended from outside, roughly at the Foundation Establishment level, and rushed directly into the carriage, fiercely striking the man in green.
"You dare to touch my people, Fei Pengzi? Do you want to start a head-on war with me?"
That aura released a hint of Taoist Intent, hard as iron. Wherever it passed, all the wooden materials of the carriage slowly turned into cold steel.
"Since leaving the Five Phenomena Iron Ridge, you are the first one to dare to provoke me openly."
"Five Phenomena Iron Ridge?" Lin Xin’s eyes lit up.
Wang Peng and Jade Fox also had their eyes slightly brighten.
Seeing that these individuals showed no fear or trepidation, the robbers realized that these were either fools or people with exceptional skills.
"Your Highness, can we take this one?!" Jade Fox quickly asked.
"Looking at his Taoist Intent, he has already reached a profound level, let’s take him!" Lin Xin nodded vigorously.
In the end, he glanced at the man in green whose face had turned somewhat red.
"Take this one as well!"
"Yes!" Wang Peng and Qiuling, eagerly awaiting an opportunity to prove themselves, immediately rushed out and, together with Jade Fox, pounced on the man in green.
Fights at the Foundation Establishment Stage relied more on magic artifacts and external items, and Lin Xin wasn’t too interested to watch any further.
Wang Peng and Jade Fox, working together, took down the two leaders in just a dozen breaths and then got off the carriage under the stupefied expressions of the caravan members.
A man in green and a fat man with a large belly were tied together by Wang Peng with a rope-like magic artifact, unable to move and being dragged in a daze.
The remaining bandits scattered and fled, some dead and some injured.
Lin Xin and his group got off the carriage and were about to leave when someone in the caravan shouted loudly.
"Wait!! Are you just planning to leave like this??"
Talisman ran over loudly exclaiming.
This person’s hair was disheveled, and his body was covered with cuts and scrapes, obviously sustained during the fierce fight with the robbers.
Lin Xin and his group thought they had heard wrong, as they had just saved this person, yet now she came up accusing them as if she had every right to.
"Why are you acting crazy, Talisman!?" The caravan’s old father hurried over to grab her, attempting to pull her back.
"Sorry, elders, she is young and doesn’t understand things well. I apologize on her behalf, I apologize!"
He, fearing that they might become angry, continuously bowed deeply.
"Why apologize!! I suspect those robbers came specifically for them!" Talisman exclaimed angrily.
"Otherwise, why would we encounter such troublesome robbers just this time, after so many trips?"
The old father helplessly held her back.
"Don’t be willful! This has nothing to do with these elders!"
"Old man, don’t hold me back!" Talisman angrily walked toward Lin Xin.
"You crazy woman, saved yet do not recognize kindness! Forget it, forget it, we’ll just treat it as poking our noses into other’s business!" Qiuling also retorted angrily.
"Let’s go," Lin Xin shook his head, somewhat understanding this girl’s intentions.
"No! You can’t leave!" Talisman lunged at Lin Xin.
But she was immediately blocked by Wang Peng and Jade Fox.
"You’ve caused the death of so many people, and now you just want to walk away without any concern?" Talisman cried out, struggling fiercely.
"Caused death?"
Rongyan was also somewhat angered, interjecting.
"What does that have to do with us?"
"If it weren’t for your involvement, there wouldn’t have been a robber attack, there wouldn’t be so many guards dead or injured. They too have families, parents, children. Isn’t this result caused by you? If you had acted earlier, there wouldn’t have been so many casualties! This is all your fault!"
Talisman yelled loudly, as if hysterical, no longer caring about anything else.
Tears streamed from her eyes, unstoppable like a thread had broken.
Just when Lin Xin was about to leave, he turned back to look at her.
"So, what do you want to do?"
Talisman was stunned, seemingly not expecting to be conceded to so easily.
But she quickly responded.
"I want justice for everyone!"
"You mean compensation, right?" Lin Xin spoke indifferently. "You carry a deep grudge and are unscrupulous in achieving your goals. Such tactics might work on a junior Righteous Path Cultivator, but against me..."
At this, Talisman was also stunned, this time genuinely shocked. Indeed, she had used this tactic before to get some Spirit Pills from a junior Righteous Path Cultivator. But now being pointed out so directly, even she felt everyone in the caravan behind her was pointing and whispering.
Yet, from the moment she saw Lin Xin’s stance, her heart pounded like a drum.
This person was without a doubt the most formidable among all the experts she had encountered!
That demeanor, similar to the Sect Leader of the Five Phenomena Iron Ridge she had once seen from afar, both were top-tier dominants.
"To miss this, would mean missing it for a lifetime!"
She could not let go of any opportunity to grow stronger. If it meant getting stronger and achieving her revenge, she was willing to do anything!
All the others were angered by her manipulative words, but Lin Xin alone watched her with eerie calm.
He didn’t speak, but that didn’t mean everyone else kept silent.
Qiuling couldn’t help but sneer.
"Didn’t you just say you were helpless and waiting to die? Weren’t you very defiant? What now?"
She pointed to the ground.
"If you want our help, is this how you ask for it?!"
Thud!
Nobody could have imagined that, moments after having a face wet with tears, she suddenly knelt down before Lin Xin.
"Fine! You want me to beg you? I’m begging you! I’ll do anything if you could just help me!"
Her father stood behind her, just continually sighing.
Every time she met someone high in stature, she would desperately try to cling on, by whatever means necessary, without a second thought.
Unfortunately, the more she behaved like this, the less likely people were to help her.
The world is fair.
But what you get isn’t directly proportional to what you give; rather, what you give always exceeds what you receive. Methods can only slightly make up for something.
After her intentions were exposed, she kept kowtowing towards Qiuling.
Thump, thump, thump...
One after another, it was as if she was smashing her head against the ground. Droplets of blood mixed with the mud, forming clumps on the dirt below.
"Let’s go." Lin Xin withdrew his gaze indifferently and walked into the distance.
Wang Peng and the others hurried to follow, and Jade Fox, looking somewhat pityingly at her, reluctantly followed as well.
Qiuling, somewhat at a loss, stepped back a few steps, facing the madly kowtowing Rongyan, she didn’t know how to handle it and could only turn to chase after Wang Peng.
"Crazy!" she muttered as she left.
By the time Lin Xin and the others had completely disappeared from the mountain path,
Rongyan was still persistently kowtowing, one hit after another. Blood stained the mud-red patch of ground in front of her.
Thump!!
With the last, heavy fall, she didn’t get up for a long time.
"It’s futile..." her father walked over, trying to help her up, but she gently pushed him away.
"I know, I’m no longer normal," Rongyan wiped the blood from her face, "but a normal approach might never kill him."
"This will not be meaningful either; such high-ranking individuals aren’t moved by mere pleas," her father said helplessly.
"But this is all I can do now..." Rongyan slumped to the ground listlessly.

Night
The Catastrophe Car slowly cruised across the night sky, sprinkling tiny red sparks from its blazing wheels.
Beneath it was an unending dark expanse of mountainous tree sea.
Inside the car, Lin Xin held a freshly brewed cup of green tea, sipping gently.
"The Taoist Intent of Five Phenomena Iron Ridge truly lives up to its reputation, requiring nearly Fourth Grade Talisman power to completely seal even a mere Third Grade."
As he spoke, he glancing over at the fat man sitting next to him, who was now completely subservient, quickly giving him a smile.
"Your Talisman power is just too strong. Honestly, if it were any other Formation Talisman without Fourth Grade power, I wouldn’t fear it at all!" After experiencing the Catastrophe Car, the fat man immediately realized he might have gotten involved with someone formidable.
Suddenly, his attitude made a complete one-eighty.
The man in green robes, who had been so principled before, still sat cross-legged in the car with a defiant look, saying nothing; the tea poured in front of him had long since gone cold.
"Do you know why that woman is desperately seeking help from anyone?" Lin Xin asked, sipping his tea.
"I’ve heard that a flourishing manor nearby was annihilated overnight, seemingly by the manor’s son-in-law," the fat man hurriedly responded. "It was said to be incredibly brutal, with everyone’s heads piled into a small tower, all facing the main entrance, nearly scaring the discoverer to death."
"I guess she might be the only survivor of that manor, rumored to be willing do anything for revenge," the fat man cautiously glanced at Lin Xin.
"The killer is just a psychopath," he added. "He refined the manor’s beloved daughter into a Corpse Refining, sewing the corpse onto his own back, claiming this way they could always be together."
Everyone felt slightly nauseous at the tale.
"That’s just insane!"
Qiuling couldn’t help but speak out.
"Exactly!" the fat man continued, "He was later known as the Gemini Demon Monarch. That woman could be the rumored only survivor, the second misses. I heard she’s willing to do anything for revenge."
"I’ve also heard of the Gemini Divine Monarch," the man in green robes couldn’t resist interjecting. "His character is very twisted. He believes the most beautiful things in life are fleeting, and the only things that can be eternally cherished are those moments. Thus, he strives to preserve beautiful things in their finest moment."
"What about the less beautiful moments?" Rongyan asked quietly.
"Those are simply erased," said the man in green robes, a hint of disgust flashing in his eyes. "My mother had dealings with him, his cultivation is beyond our resistance. He just lets that woman stay active outside because he’s cultivating her, waiting for her to reach her most beautiful moment."
"That’s utterly twisted!"
Jade Fox couldn’t hold back either.
